May 2019. Thank you very much for your presentation! We fixed our monitor, a relatively new, well cared for HP model HP203. It had a very thin, green flickering line running along the very bottom of the screen. All else seemed fine. You showed me the connector was the problem. I was afraid to take the screen apart. But I pinched hard between my fingers and thumb all along the bottom frame of the monitor to see if that would set the connector better. Then restarted it. The line went away. Thank you so much!

my dude i just got 2 horizontal white lines lower in the screen, i just searched for a solution, found this vid, watched it in fullscreen till the end, then miraculously it was ok! god bless!

It turns white then black with yellow lines in it and when I hit it with a certain position on hand and certain place it stops but when I let go it colours AgAin I ave Windows 7 btw

I have an older Dell E151FPB monitor. This summer when it got warm, my screen randomly blacks out and starts flickering some dim light near the edge with the green led indicator flashing in unison. When I thump on the outer frame, the screen lights back up, briefly with the Dell emblem then with whatever was displaying on my screen before it blacked out. At times it occurs often. Sometimes I have to thump hard several times for it to come back on. When it is blacked out, pressing the on/off button has no effect.
Can someone please give me ideas the cause and how to fix?

Mine was a single vertical line at the center of the screen. I had to open the front of the laptop screen so as to expose the display wire and then nika press along it and it kinda fixed. I hope itawork.

gaurav meena it might not be broken. It could be just your video connection or maybe your screen is not screwed tight enough. Try making it tight or loose. But remember thr video cable could be causing that.

Thanks my friend well explained and helpful. I thought I need to replace entire screen but I will check the component you showed first. The Lenovo laptop is fine except my parrot 🦜 chewed the edge of the screen and now the screen when turned on is part green, with lines and other colours? (Look similar to your thumb nail)

I'd check your video card, tbh. If overheating is your issue, that's my first guess.

Trisha Malik hey, so this sounds like a graphic card issue, if your screen is messed up, it wouldn’t be selective. I think your screen is fine but check your graphic card first

@1:01 you pulled the plastic frame off so easily, so I'm guessing you did some unscrewing prior to filming. Well, what if there are no screws to be found on my plastic frame? Do some laptops not allow you to remove it? (I have an Acer Aspire F15.)
444 yes sir. Well All I just did was unclip that front cover. It doesn't really have screws on most laptops. It's just a cover that's hiding the inside cables to the screen.

Whenever I get the lines, I run my finger across the bottom of the frame from left to right--putting pressure on it--and the lines go away. Does this mean the cable itself is probably fine (i.e. no need to order a new one) and the connection just became loose or something?
444 yes it could your cables that maybe loose, try to remove them and clean the comnection with alcohol or methylated spirit and reconnect. If the problem persists then you might need a new cable. They cheap on ebay you can get them less than $15

You need to replace the LVDS cable. It's a bit more complicated than just 'replacing' it. Gotta tear the entire machine down; fyi.

Well this video is for if the lines come on for no reason and you’re sure there’s no physical damage to the actual screen. If the screen is physically cracked then that’s a different story, you’ll need a new LED

You claim the lcd cable has to be replaced. Why not actually get the computer fixed to show you really know what you are talking about? Since you didn’t fix it, it could be anything else including a bad lcd. Well, we’ll never know...
Because this computer has been doing that for years. I know the pressure points. If you would like to replace or repair your computer, then that's you. But if an LCD/ LED glitches without the screen being cracked, then that's probably the problem. Think about your earphone Jack malfunctioning, is that your earphone audio not working or it's really the Jack with an issue?

To summarise: 1) pull the screen off, making the problem worse with more lines. 2) pull the wires out, then suddenly go on Amazon and order a new part. 3) Put the computer back together again. Now it has the damn lines still unfixed, and your computer is in recovery mode which will take ages to sort out. 4) Still, your order from Amazon has been placed, which means you have to do the same thing ALL OVER AGAIN. 5) Who knows if the order from Amazon worked? We don't know that because the video didn't actually show a fix at all. 6) Go ahead and scream at people who upload useless videos on TH-cam.
This video is not to help fix your computer, it's to help you diagnose the problem. I've been fixing computers for probably longer than you've had one. If a video connection is out then it needs to be replaced. 9/10 it's not your monitor or screen with an issue. But I'm happy this video applied to most people who realized what they had to do.
