Fraser is such a good rider, has a good eye for camera angles and his comments are interesting! Good to see him back! And Ali is a beast of course for riding down the middle bit of that horrible slab!
Hey Ali Clarkson and Fraser! Always good to see someone achieve a victory they have sought for a decade. 500 extra bonus points for Fraser helping out with the filming! Glad you both enjoyed the day! Ride ride ride!
I worked as a mtb guide/skills coach and took Steve Jones "Jonesy" (dirt mag) and Joe Barnes/Stu Thompson/Fergus Lamb round the Red/Black route in 2007 for a multi page feature in Dirt Mag and can confirm that Joe managed to ride up the slab chute and down all areas of the face onto the road. It’s still a brave move to ride the face though, not something I bothered to do despite riding the trail 100’s/1000’s of times as I stay only 25mins away
Awesome to have Fraser out I think it makes doing some of these challenges a lot funner and great he's filming too. Knowing hes a good rider and seeing him ride the same stuff makes for a good insight into just how serious this terrain is!
Think you fully promoted all the needed equipment, except for the big balls. Those roll downs are so fun. The start is always the hardest part, much less stressful when you have a few more feet to roll in so you don't have to stare at the drop.
Rad creativity Ali and Fraser. I really like to see the human side of these insane aspects of cycling. You two are really starting to click and I think that if you keep going it will only get better. Well done \m/,
Well done to both of you, that drop looks insanely steep. I could never force myself to ride anything remotely close to that, no matter how good the runout. It might be something to do with my fear of heights. 😂
This video came at a great time, i whimped out on a big but way more mellow slab last time i was out at the bike park, and now im gonna go back and bag it! Thanks Ali!
You don’t need to go to Whistler to ride some epic slabs😂😂 once again amazing. job Fraser filming. and respect to you both for riding this crazy thing of beauty I would need at least Three doubles of JD and coca-Cola before I did this joking aside kids don’t drink and ride Unless you have a pub bike Adult viewers don’t be shy we know you’ve all got one we all have 😂😂😂
Great filming and really nice bikes! Awesome mtb riding skills from Ali and Fraser. Knee pads and elbow pads should always be worn to prevent unnecessary injuries that can bench you for 6-12 weeks.
Thank you! I often do wear knee pads on the MTB but it’s nice not to have them on occasionally, I’ve never worn elbow pads though, I think they’d distract me too much and cause me to crash more often
Good elbow and knee pads won't distract you at all and will protect you from unnecessary injuries. I wear Fox D3O pads and really like them. You are a great rider but one day you're likely going to have a big accident because we all make mistakes and some are out of our control. I've been riding BMX and mountain bikes seriously for over 44 years and speak from experience. A shattered elbow or a crushed knee cap is not something you want.
I remember thinking I was The Don going down the trail drop on my Turner Burner 15 Yr back, but pales into total insignificance watching you chaps messing about there 😂
19:04 First proper look at spot. after 19 mins 🤦🤦🤔? :/ Next time please, take camera at a height of you on your🚲and walk to the edge of that massive/small "cliff".
I can’t stand how all TH-camrs speak the same these days. “Hi guys!” Generic TH-camr here! And today, I’m doing X!” Your personality gets lost and you fade into the zeitgeist.
It’s been how I do videos for over 7 years and you’re the first to mention it BUT I do know what you mean, I hate all that stuff too but I can’t really think of a better way to open a video and let people know where I am and what’s going on
@@Ali_Clarkson Maybe I’m the one who’s wrong then. I’m definitely no authority on anything. Just feels strange that we seem to have collectively accepted that you should speak in a certain way on TH-cam. I’d love to know exactly why people do it. Is it just a natural behaviour of human conformity? Is it influenced by people trying to feed the algorithm? Is it subconsciously copied from broadcast TV? Is it just a function of TH-cam being an enclosed platform where each creator learns from others? And if so, who is patient zero? Who knows, but it does make me cringe a bit. Sorry for just spewing random thoughts on your video. It was pretty rude. My bad.
@@MarioGoatse no stress dude. I think it’s because I feel like I’m addressing a group of people like you would a guide and it seems rude not to wish them well. That said, sometimes I do just start the video with not much chat and straight into the point (like my Shadowcat setup video).
@@Ali_Clarkson Cheers mate. I do appreciate the polite response. It’s not like I didn’t enjoy the content either. Was just something I’ve been noticing a lot on TH-cam lately. Have a good one.
More of Fraser, please. You two got a good chemistry.
Cheers man
I agree!
Fraser is an awesome addition, love his attitude and style.
Thanks 🙏
2 boys and a rock, fun day

These videos are worth it just to hear Fraser speaking!
Fraser, no shame in walking away. Love this content!
Fraser seems like a very pleasant company, plus we get the good dynamic duo vibes that you bring while riding! Enjoying a lot!

Great video again thanks Ali!

Absolutely beautiful place, but that wall ride looks terrifying! You guys made it look easy though!
I thing Fraser adds a nice charm to de videos.
If him is scared of something, I’m sure I would be petrified!
Nice one guys! That spot looks fun

One other guy previously rode it. You need to dig down into the dirt to find him.
Ever though about making an illustrated book? No text, only pictures?! You got so much style in your riding... 😊
Great vid. And the slowmo does it justice
Yes, learn Frazer some trails on a trails bike please.
No camera can do justice to the angle 😮
That's absolutely true.. Think the same every time I'm up to verticals like that
As you said last week, the key to getting up things on a full squish is tapping onto stuff. Maybe try that to get on top?😂
Also, this video makes me want to just go there to session the slab. Even though it's hours away.
Also, also, good to hear this ride was good old pain free fun!
Did the slab straight down about 10yrs ago on an old orange patriot it is very steep my mate snapped his frame doing it 😂
Man, I really wanted to see if the E-bike would get the climb but understand the risk. Also we know Ali, he's going to try sooner or later. 😅
> Probably looks like nothing on camera
_Looks like literal death on camera_
I remember thinking I was The Don going down the trail drop on my Turner Burner 15 Yr back, but pales into total insignificance watching you chaps messing about there 😂
Why isn't this guy verified with more subs????
It's not steep it's flipping vertical!!!! big up respect great video 🎉
this is soo a good video....please learn Fraser trialsriding:D
The Fraser has a Dansk slang ;)
A forward flip off the top would be a thing to see...
really liking the mountain bike stuff.. I always thought I would need a trials specific bike to do things like this.. turns out you don't
are you still near/at Kirroughtree its my local trailcenter btw like the vid

Looks stupid steep on camera, can't imagine in person.
Try it with a fatbike, please! And tell us the difference.
