The issue you're having with Xbox streaming isn't exclusive to this device, console games only output at 16:9 so that's why the game streams at 16:9. Zooming in would only cut off part of the stream. Also i appreciate the size comparison in the video! Gives a great idea of how big the device is. Really weird that they went with a display with curved edges when it has pretty big bezels. I think going with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a screen with no squared off edges would've been a better idea
@@deantzu on phones, the longer aspect ratio is better for social media and scrolling web pages and sending texts where the onscreen keyboard takes up part of the screen. I have no idea why a gaming device wouldn't choose 16:9 ratio though.
Mind recording/screenshotting the results of a Wildlife Stress Test to see if there's thermal throttling. Can you try with the Performance governor on and off? Upvote for you! Thank you!
Great video… Have you tried going to settings>Display>Full Screen apps? I have that option on my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. In that Full screen apps setting a list of every app installed gives you the option to either Full Screen, 16:9, 4:3. This settings option may not be available for the Razer Edge but hopefully that it does and it helps with the full screen issue.
Great video thanks for showing the screen and that the device can do more than gaming. Looks like the Razers screen isn't that high on nits the phones look like they have a brighter screen. Seems like they had to cut corners somewhere for the price also the bezels but it's not that bad. A tip for you the switch can play TH-cam if you install the TH-cam app in the Nintendo store. Also maybe you can show off gameplay on popular game's like cod mobile ,Genshing impact, PUBG mobile on max settings. And do some comparisons with speed test compared to the iPhone pro max or Pixel 7 on loading the games. Also can you game without the controller attached and say if it's comfortable to game like that. Seems like if you already have a flagship phone then you probably don't need this but if you don't for the price it's a good deal. This will compete with non flagship cheap phones like the Pixel 7, Samsung A53 with almost the same price but those phones deliver better cameras. The edge has a chance to if the cooling features, audio, battery life, and the usefulness of software make a difference in gaming.
They could have went less bezel, a tad less width and made a more fitting display ratio for the intended content. Got rid of the nasty curves as well. Seems a poor design decision. Betting discounts will be sooner than later. Maybe get one $100 less.
I imported one as it's not coming to the EU. Paid a big premium because of import duties and such. Just to find out it won't be using the whole screen when streaming games. Ugh that's a lot of money wasted. That's what you get when not doing your DYOR. Lesson learned i guess. Hope I'll still enjoy using the device after all and if not: you win some you lose some.

That makes sense. Thank you for that! I agree. Def some odd design choices!
still sucks why not make it 16:9 in the first place that what's most game use.
that's what i've been saying what's stopping companies from making an all screen 16:9 smartphone or device rather than 18:9, 21:9 ratios.

Geforce now supports streaming that will take up the whole screen if you have the highest tier of it i do believe

Could you compare to Logitech G cloud. Maybe any differences in emulation.
You can make calls with the Verizon 5G version?

Returned mine didn't notice a difference between my phone and the Edge imo
I have a video coming tomorrow and I’m going to be bringing this up. The more I use it the more I agree!
Plus way less bezel and no nasty curved corners.
there is nothing the edge does that a phone won't do. Difference is a phone can make calls lol
