Exactly wrong. Dark Moon is fine, but it suffers a lot for decisions made in its basic design. Instead of just letting you walk around the Mansions and do your business, they force you to complete given objectives in a suffocatingly linear manner, and upon doing so, FORCE you to return to the Lab. I understand that it was made for the 3DS, so it needed to be portable-friendly, but look. Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask are both big 3D games that let you save whenever you want and continue playing, and one of them was actually released two years before Dark Moon. So it’s just inconvenient and unnecessary. Not to mention it was the start of the trend of making the ghosts and Mansion(s) goofy and cartoony rather than creepy and grim. And I get it, Luigi’s Mansion was never supposed to be Resident Evil. It was never some horrific, thoughtful experience. And even from the start it had a lot of jokes and quirks. But it was unique among Nintendo games, because it legitimately was somewhat creepy. I mean, this game has a DEAD BABY in it. But starting with Dark Moon, it’s just kind of a nonstop comedy. There are rarely, if ever, any creepy moments like in the first game. And no, I’m not just criticizing it for being different. This has created a sizable divide among fans, and I’m sure you can see why. Dark Moon is undeniably a fine, even good game, but it doesn’t really compare to the atmosphere 1 or the unmatched stylized beauty of 3.

The instruments used are as follows (do correct me if I'm wrong): Gloomy Manor: Piano, pizzicato strings and bassoon/clarinet Haunted Towers: Bongos, kalimba, cello, flute Old Clockworks: Organ, harpsichord Secret Mine: Glockenspiel, some kind of synth and weird bell chimes in the background Treacherous Mansion: Pizzicato strings, clarinet and some kind of string ensemble
Played this game on the Wii when I was in first grade, favorite part was when the goddamned chandelier fell on you when you walked under it. *Memories*
Dark Moon was a fantastic game, even though I prefer the original just because of the sillier graphics it had and the more outlandish models for all the characters and ghosts but Dark Moon was not bad by any means
Oh my god the nostalgia It’s unfortunate that I can’t use my Nintendo 3DS anymore because I broke it after dropping it too many times when I was younger, and my mom won’t let ME pay 50-200 dollars to get the motherboard and maybe some other stuff fixed (I suspect that’s what’s wrong with it)
Maybe you could do Sonic music? I feel like it's the only consistently good thing in sonic games. I love Sonic Forces theme especially (it's called fist bump)
