Very good info . This is literally the first time I’m hearing this advice. I’ve been doing water change after water change to even out my tank and all I ever get is calcium way above the range to be read and alkalinity at 9.24 dkh right after my water change . I also use Red Sea pro in the black bucket . I will add that alk drops significantly every day until my next water change. I change my water every 5 days due to this .
Hi Michael, when you have levels that are out if you do regular water changes using a good salt like the one you use and I it will correct the off set, but if afterwards your levels are off then either part A or B would correct it. Eddie
@@EddiesReefAquaria i atarted using in equal amounts and after a month my calcium level was off the charts. Kept using 27ml of alk and none of calcium until it dropped to normal levels.
Interesting, Eddie. The only dosing I do at the moment is Tropic Marin All For Reef. I’m scared of causing any harmful swings in the tank! On a side note, I bought a pair of skunk clowns today, who immediately hosted my toadstool. So happy 😊
Great video, I have been using this product for years and was also advised that you have to use equal dosage, great info will most definitely use this advice 😎
Hi Dope, first thanks for contacting me. The tank you see on the background is a Nuvo 40 made by Innovative Marine. When it comes to my videos if interested I upload one on a weekly basis usually at the end of the week. Eddie
Hi Westion, yes, I've had some arguments when it relates to this topic, but as I say and have said in the past in which it has happened to me. when you in your case your alk is low, but Ca is fine when you dose to bring up the alk what will happen is the calcium will go up above normal limits. Eddie
I usually adjust it to my levels, and then dose equally. And without correct magnesium, cal and alk don’t really get used by the coral correctly. They need mag to use cal and alk. Great videos!! 😊👍🏽
Thank god i came across this video.. my ca would of been super high if i would follow some of the plp viewing this product on yt. Thnk! Subbed
Happy to hear I was of help. Thanks for your Sub its appreciated.👍
Thank you for the informative video. I’m glad I could dose only what I need and not equal parts as my ca was higher than the alk .
Very welcome. They don't say that, but you can only apply which part is needed. 👍
@@EddiesReefAquaria thank you for your prompt reply. Greatly appreciated.

Hi @84latinray, to be honest it will not as per my testing. Eddie
Great video Eddie! You are 100% correct on how to use the product!
Hi Nancy, thanks for your comments. Yep, even on the bottles it says to apply equal amounts. Eddie

What time of day do you dose kh
Presently on he Fusion 40 I've had no need to dose, but when I do I usually dose during the AM after the lights have kicked in.
@@EddiesReefAquaria thank you
So if my alk is low and my calcium is fine, can I just dose alk?

You're correct, some hobbyist don't know that if your mag is not at the proper level it will affect the other parameters including ph. Eddie
