I've been using the burnt sugar instead of molasses. Although my mom says a friend who use to work at the factory that makes them says they don't use any molasses or burnt sugar in them. I can't see how though.

Take a look at the episode called Rosalee's Belizean Fudge, where my mom shows us exactly when to take it from the fire. If the fudge is soft, you've removed it from the fire too soon. I had to practice for years to know when to stop cooking it, but my mom shows us some tricks on how to know when to remove.
lol You are too cute. I have the honeybun in the fridge right now. Joe is trying to break down the taste to see what's in it. I grew up on honeybun and ideal. My dad makes some good ideals, but we are working on the honeybun.
Still working on it. I have a piece of Honeybun in the fridge that is so stale because I have to match it when I do a test. I get the texture and somewhat the taste, but the color is still not right.

Sounds good. I just received a pack from my cousin who's visiting. It's a difficult recipe to obtain. I'm going to see if I can reverse the recipe myself. Research says: it's a modified recipes for ginger-snaps/molasses cookies from a molasse jar :)

I prefer brown sugar & wouldn't mine add in raisin😘I never tried cashew thanks for that tip it's one of of my favorite nuts😋
