Amen to that. Michael Kelly Smith was the poster boy for the genre and era. His look and playing scream hair metal and he is one of my favourite guitarists.
This was by far one of the most kick ass albums to come out back in the day . The video for this blew me away as a young guy when it first came out . I rocked to this tape for years and still do !
'We'll be right back with more Debbie Gibson, but right now here is Britney Fox.' Ha ha ha, I can't stop laughing at that. I used to love these guys. Their two songs hold up better than Poison and most of the other glam bands.
sleslie23 Their second and third album that came out in ‘89 and ‘91 are also really good, but are more of the roots hard rock n roll style...kind of like a hair metal version of AC/DC.
Super underrated band..just too bad they didn’t hit the metal/rock scene a few years earlier …then you had Dizzy Dean leaving the band …this was one of those bands that “could have been so much more”… Even in 2022 you can’t deny their talent and the fact that they played LIVE with no lip-synching.
I've been listening to this tune and Save the Weak every day. The drums and lead are really great. I like how Dizzy Dean is energetic and a great rhythm guitar player. The bass comes through strong too. You can see they were having a great time.
this song features one of the best guitar solos from the 80's hair metal era. instead of the standard 4 bar solo, the song features an extended solo that is just perfect for the song.
sean-i guess you can say the feel of the solo just works so well with the track. the solo is also more than your standard 4 bar solo. most of the 80's bands were playing the same 4 bar solo, especially when the monster ballads were on the air.
"instead of the standard 4 bar solo" Actually, solos are usually EIGHT bars long. One repetition of a rock riff usually takes 2 bars in the common 4/4 time signature. And while the soloing ain't bad, it's a little boring towards the end.
I know we can't go back but what a kick ass time for metal I played out in 88 (drums). Need a time machine. Best time of my life. Even in Southern Illinois the metal scene was great. For those about to rock...I Salute You🥁
Debbie Gibson was a regular groupie for many hair bands back in the late 80's like Britney Fox, Poison and Ratt. She was really a Headbanger despite her barely legal "Don't Drink Don't Smoke Goody Two Shoes" appearance and mainstream Pop music back in the day. Debbie was & still is a hardcore Rocker.. o;)
I always thought Dean sounded like Paul Stanley in this song. I know he's focusing on country music these days. Wish you would come back join the band during summer month tours.
It's crazy to think that lead vocalist Dizzy Dean Davidson after Britny Fox disbanded, he formed the band Blackeyed Susan in 1990, check out their song "None Of It Matters", then in 2007 he released a Folk Rock album titled "Drive My Karma". Man, how things have changed. If I had one wish, it would be not only to go back to the 80's, but to remain in the 80's forever. Lived It, Loved It, Miss It.
I remember seeing this years ago and just the other day I was thinking about it and thought ain't no way anyone would have this on youtube. Can't believe it!! Thanks adelaidejetboy
I always favored Britny Fox over Cinderella. to me they just sound more raw and in your face balls to the wall rock n roll Nothing bubble gum about this group
With the passage of time, I'm finding that I'm liking Britny's music more than Cinderella. They're both great bands- I and like them both. But, Cinderella's music seemed more sad, whereas Britny's is always more uplifting. Even with Tommy Paris, Britny's music just kept going up and and tons of energy, whereas Keifer seemed to drift more towards sad bluesy songs that were great too, but that just didn't make you want to jump out of your seat and bang your head. lol
n all the live performances of this song that I have seen, Dean Davidson NEVER hits the higher octave of the chorus as he did on the recording. It is disappointing because it demonstrates that the producer was able to get that performance out of Dean, but it was not to be repeated. I imagine that going on the road to support the album meant cutting corners to save the voice.
ya know what i learned watch, listn and playn all the great music from the 80's while we were honing our own, which was fantastic in its own right, but doing all that moving on a stage WHILE playing and/or singing is a BITCH! it is NOT as easy as some think..besides looking cool, boy.... can you have some epic fuk ups too! one of the best swagger guitarists is jake e lee.... try moving like him while playing some of those songs and see just how much respect you will give him after that lol!

This is a bad-@ss glam rock anthem...no getting around it!
2 of the 4 members left to go make britny fox. It was Mike kelly smith the lead guitarist here and Tony desta on drums but he then passed away from I believe a car crash so now they have Johnny Dee on drums
I think the guitars are tracked...watch guitarist on left w/ yellow guitar at start...the intro starts and then he starts strumming on next bar....vocals and drums seem live....must have been issue with sound
The people in the audience had no idea just how lucky they were to witness this Awesome performance.
So live one
And they actually played live. No lip sync here. I saw this broadcast. It made me a life long Britny Fox fan.
This song has one of the coolest guitar solos ever recorded. This was one good band! So glad the 80s happened. Produced the best music ever!
I totally agree! I always thought if I had to pick one guitar solo that was representative of this music and era, this would be the one.
It does .....
Beavis, and Butthead destroyed the career, but Winger's Seventeen is a great song with an incredible guitar solo.
I love it. It’s on my playlist when I run marathons. As soon as the guitar solo starts I speed up
Amen to that. Michael Kelly Smith was the poster boy for the genre and era. His look and playing scream hair metal and he is one of my favourite guitarists.
Back when there were actual rock stars
The kicks, splits, plus a super tight performance. Well done fellas.
Long Way to Love is up there with Round and Round. It's more than a song, it's a ride.
This was by far one of the most kick ass albums to come out back in the day . The video for this blew me away as a young guy when it first came out . I rocked to this tape for years and still do !
48 and still do😁👹

Yeah, they were darn good.

+Javy C - Agreed. It's not technically astounding, but it's perfect. One of my fave solos.
sean-i guess you can say the feel of the solo just works so well with the track. the solo is also more than your standard 4 bar solo. most of the 80's bands were playing the same 4 bar solo, especially when the monster ballads were on the air.

Ron Rocker yeah, 4 bar for a solo is shorter than the average rock song
Terrific performance, almost death metal!
I know we can't go back but what a kick ass time for metal
I played out in 88 (drums). Need a time machine. Best time of my life. Even in Southern Illinois the metal scene was great. For those about to rock...I Salute You🥁
Long shot, but where were you located in Southern Illinois? I’m close to Carbondale and Marion. Bet those times were great!
Great song. Powerful performance. A cut above their peers.
THIS SINGER DIZZY DEAN AND THIS GUITARIST IS THE ORIGINAL BF AND BY FAR THE BEST!! GREAT GUITARIST AND BAD ASS VOCALS! ! LOVE IT!!

Playing a show that has Debbie Gipson as a guest also? Now thats Metal! lol
Debbie was & still is a hardcore Rocker.. o;)
That wasn't an accident.
This show was called Mouth to Mouth.
Damnit Debbie who knew lol Not Me 😳lol
This song rocks
The snare drum sounds great
seen them 4 row with poison ,,, need some more 80"s rock simple and good times. !!!!!!!!!!
Great rock song. Well-structured and executed. Classic. And yes .. the kicks.
By far one of the best 80’s bands Dizzy #1
These guys kick ass
I always thought Dean sounded like Paul Stanley in this song. I know he's focusing on country music these days. Wish you would come back join the band during summer month tours.
This was an awesome tune, I blasted this in my car and home stereo system. I was learning how to play guitar and it was a great song to play to.
2021and still listening one of my favorites songs of all time...love from México 🤘
These guys and KIX were way ahead of any "hair band" back then.
I saw them live twice in the early 90s at HammerJacks in Baltimore. I think they opened for Pantera.
The Best Hair Metal Tune of all time!
Great guitar work also! The solo is really great and is severely underated!
It's in my top 5 of all-time. Just amazing!!
Still rock to this awesome album!!
I love their hair! Love their music.🤘❤
I remember going in to a music store and buying their cassette
The Fox was like Cinderella, a cut above the competition.
I Love Britny Fox
Great drumming
Outstanding. This is real talent right here.

That's awesome to bad the volume is so low ,!!!!
I just fixed it lol 😊
My favorite B.F. song. LOVE that guitar riff.
“Will be right back with Debbie Gibson but right now we have GWAR!!!!” Lmao!!!
I remember seeing this years ago and just the other day I was thinking about it and thought ain't no way anyone would have this on youtube. Can't believe it!! Thanks adelaidejetboy
Damn, Dizzy’s pretty flexible. It’s pretty much just the one riff all the way through the song-and that’s a good decision, it’s a pretty killer riff.
This band is awesome
I was a skinny 14 year old living in North Carolina when this band came out in 88.
I don’t see how dean Davidson’s vocal cords don’t fly out of his throat
Total badass he is!!!! I remember this show well!
@@nealward8403 glam metal singers were built different!
what a great post!Thanks!
Great Band a kickass guitar riffs and soulful vocals .
Lots of good music despite looks or anything anybody says.......
Dean sounds great live.
This is an amazing performance. Thanks for posting!!
Saw this at the Hara arena Dayton
Ohio
1989 I think ?
Those years were great but some of
The memories escape me now .
A true decade of decadence
Dean's standing high kicks are the best!
Aaron B he stretched when rehearsed
I listen to this song every day and motivates the hell out of me the guitar solos are amazing
Absolutely great
Cool song. Their first three albums are great.

Great heavy metal......Realllly good!
Wow!!!
awesome voice, right on the mark
Read the liner notes on their second release 'Boys in Heat' and you'll find a thank you to one, yes the same one, Debbie Gibson.
Damn that drummer !
Dizzy Dean vocally reminds me of a cross between Paul Stanley (KISS) & Tom Keifer (Cinderella)....Change my mind
Same 🤣
so much better than todays crap
All my friends make fun of me but I FUCKING LOVE BRITNY FOX
You should see the look on my friends faces when I play them babymetal. I'm 59. Rock on
Say what you will about 80s hair metal, but they had the best riffs.
That was fucking awesome
Many thought they were lip sinking including the instruments. NOPE , They were really playing 👍
TRES Cool/Heavy
mmmmm that classic tv noise.
Dean produced our album hehe. I wonder if he can still do the splits?
I always favored Britny Fox over Cinderella. to me they just sound more raw and in your face balls to the wall rock n roll

Como se diz saudade em inglês?
It's like watching Tom Kiefer from Cinderella.
You realize Britny Fox was started by some original members of Cinderella? Thus the stunning similarities.
2 of the 4 members left to go make britny fox. It was Mike kelly smith the lead guitarist here and Tony desta on drums but he then passed away from I believe a car crash so now they have Johnny Dee on drums
Where's Debbie Gibson's interview???!!!
dizzie and the drummer sportin their own locks...other 2.... wig city!!
All real hair buddy
I think the guitars are tracked...watch guitarist on left w/ yellow guitar at start...the intro starts and then he starts strumming on next bar....vocals and drums seem live....must have been issue with sound
What show is this? I remember Rick Dees.
MTV Mouth2Mouth.
His vocal like tom keifer
Further proof that hair metal guitarists laugh at most things now
I remember going in to a “music store” and purchasing their album cause of their music video.
B m'f-ing F!
