Extraordinarily well articulated in all Vietne's variations, which can be muddled. The instrument was used at its very best. Awrsome. Well done!

That gave me chills. These are the kinds of pieces that make me wish the pipe organ were a more widely used instrument. Absolutely stunning.

I am sixty-two and have played classical organ over the years but never took it too seriously because it is a rare opportunity to have access to a magnificent instrument in a perfect location. As part of a tuning crew on a number of local instruments, there have been times when I wished I had something like this under my belt. Hearing your performance of this piece has now set into motion two things which are mutually exclusive: 1. this is the highest bar of performance I have heard of this piece and sets a nearly impossible standard; 2. I want to take hammers to my fingers and put myself out of misery. Thank you, sir, for a wonderful rendition of this music.

I absolutely adore this piece, which I discovered about 40 years ago. I used to work in Whitehall, and could see and hear Big Ben's clock from my office window, so this piece has great memories for me. Wonderful performance. I agree with others that this is one of the best to date! Wonderful!

Dear James; God damn, as you may well understand by now, it's a real bitch to record a grand organ well. I'm listening to this via TH-cam with head phones... and it sound simply grand, overwhelming. thank you. From my heart. From all that I love about great organ music. Thank you. Thank you. Simply wonderful. Moi.

Easily the most amazing rendition of the Carillon de Westminster I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. I play this piece very regularly as one of my quick "go-to" pieces for services and such I don't have much prep time for, but the largest organ I've ever been able to play it on is only about 2/3 the size of this mammoth. It is, happily, another Aeolian-Skinner, one by G. Donald Harrison to boot and in a very nice acoustic space but... damn. The instrument at the National Cathedral is just on another plane of existence, and on that note may I also say that this is easily the single best performance on that instrument that I've managed to find on TH-cam. Sure, far more "technically brilliant" pieces are posted around but my goodness... your use of the instrument's disposition and the space in which it plays is just the most perfect marriage of performer, instrument, acoustics, and MUSIC that I have been able to find. Bravo, Mr. Kennerley. A million times, bravo.

It isn't a Harrison Skinner....The Cathedral organ was built by old man Skinner and his son I believe.

hard to believe the organ as it exists today hasn't had some GDH added to it. After all, it's a pretty old instrument ;)

True enough. I was just mentioning that the organ to which I referred was a GDH - didn't mean to imply anything about the Cathedral organ here. Apologies! I do get excited when talking about Skinners.

That was awesome, Mr. Kennerley! I remember my visits to the console of that wonderful organ back in the late 70s and early 80s.

Wonderful performance from you once again. Used to turn the pages of this piece frequently for Garth Benson at St Mary Redcliffe Bristol. That stunning Harrison Organ.

This piece be must one of the most complex works for the pipe organ. For an average guy like myself who has a good ear despite not being musically trained in any instrument - I have heard other Vierne pieces, and various pipe organ music, yet even after 10 times the Carillon makes me feel like I never heard it before - such is the intricacy of the harmonies, arpeggios, tempos, almost impossible to follow (guess) what chord progressions are coming next.
