  • Louis Vierne's famous 'Carillon de Westminster' played on the BIS Organ. I wish you could hear what it sounds like in my music room..... amazing!!
This is the Saint Ouen sample, using played on Hauptwerk. This sample is called 'Aristide' as this was Cavaille-Coll's first name! :)
I hope you enjoy this performance. If so, please do leave me a comment! (even if you didn't, please leave me a comment)

Thank you, thank you, thank you: one of the most joyous, exciting and wonderful pieces in the entire organ literature, and beautifully played, *as usual,* by Mr. McVeigh.

At 2:30 you take the organ into another dimension. I get goosebumps every time I listen to it.

That Grrrrrowl at 4:45 - gloroius! Very well played, on an outstanding sample-set - it's wonderful to hear these big pieces using the organs and acoustics for which they were conceived. Bravo!

I do not understand the title. Why "(Saint Ouen)"? This is not the Saint-Ouen Cavaillé-Coll organ.

Good Lord, I do love that magnificent piece! Isn’t Ouen the organ he wrote that piece for? For some reason I have that halfway stuck in my memory.

Again, really solid and wonderful playing! There are certain musical moments that ALLWAYS give me chills. One of those is the build up starting from about 04:25 and then the CHILLS climax at 04:45 and more or less continue through the remainder of the piece! What is there not to love about this piece well played!
I hope you don't share any walls with organ hating neighbors!

Thank you Richard. As a bell-ringer/student organist this is one of my favorite pieces.
First the very long slow anticipatory build for 4.30+ minutes,
Then the final grand glorious conclusion. Absolutely Delicious.

I listened to a recording of this piece daily after getting home during my psychiatry rotation in medical school. The initial part in its quietness and the build up settled my mind. Then the glorious conclusion pulled me out of the funk. Sometimes it took a second time!

One of my favorite pieces just for my birthday. Thank you for your excellent performance!
I still remember when I heard ages ago the first-ever recording of that piece, Andrew Lucas - Organ Showpieces From St. Paul's Cathedral.
There is another piece recorded on this magnificent organ (available on youtube) I would love to see one day recorded on your fantastic organ - Edward Dean plays Passacaglia, Op. 40 by Gerard Bunk.

Bravo, sir! I imagine that arriving at the gates of Heaven and THAT organ welcoming me there--what a glorious day that will be! Side note--Michael Barone posted a short video of himself walking around the St. Ouen Abbey while someone was playing that glorious instrument. The chairs were removed and it was him below the gallery. I can't even imagine how he felt that day.

You play another organ ; it isn’t Saint Ouen of Rouen ! I don’t recognize the Contre-Bombarde 32 at the end of the score and 56 notes and not 61 notes at Saint Ouen !
