Now that all the Arkham Knight DLC is here, we though it was time to finish off some more "Character Stories" where we focus on only one character in the Batman games. This shows Killer Croc's story throughout the entire Arkham series
Due to a genetic disorder, Killer Croc was born with crocodile-like skin, a condition that grew worse over the years. Forced to live with his abusive and alcoholic aunt and abused and bullied his entire life due to his appearance, Croc grew to despise humanity, becoming more and more animal like, in body as well as in spirit.

Anyone confused by his changing looks, its because he mutates further and further away from human form with time.

Is it just me who feels bad for Croc? Guy was bullied by kids at school and so on, abused by his alcoholic aunt...all because of his condition. He grew to hate humanity because of it. It's a brilliant story for a character. That's what I love about Batman. I'm not a massive fan. I don't read the comics or anything or really watch the films, but even from just seeing the Arkham games and doing research on characters like Croc to learn his backstory, I can see how well thought out the back stories for the characters are. Especially Croc.

That's what I love about Batman villains.. Almost all of then are tragic villains. Killer Croc, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, Etc.
Exactly, I was so disappointed how underused he was in the Arkham Series, the most interaction you get with him was in a 20 minute payed DLC that's a carbon copy of the Joker Clone fight from the Main game (Arkham Knight). His roles in the games got less and less each game with him making a second long hallucination in Arkham Knight which he gets killed seconds later. I feel like Croc could be a great main villain for a comic and he should be used more often.

The Arkham Knight DLC makes me feel more sorry for Croc, his mind is degenrating and he is being experimented on like some wild animal, even Cash feels sorry for him, hope they will do something good with Croc in the future.

I always found it kind of wholesome how Joker was the only one who always seemed really happy to see Croc. Like genuinely happy he was there.

Killer Croc is by far my favorite villain in the batman universe. I loved how the Arkham series portrayed him as this hulking figure with unlimited strength. I'm disappointed in how suicide squad did not cast someone that was as massive and intimidating as this video game series.

I'm assuming that partially has to do with wanting to keep a decent level of realism in appearance. A 9-12 foot version of croc would've had to be completely CGI, and far more expensive.
My only complaint about croc in Suicide Squad was that they didn't make him scary enough.

Kinda makes you feel sorry for Croc. He was born with this, the mutation spread and then they tortured him. He really didn't ask for this... Though out of all the versions of Croc i love its the Arkham ones and The Batman series since he really looked like a croc.

It never even seemed like a joke. He appeared legitimately happy to see him.
Plus, outside of the "I need some new shoes" remark, the Joker never made any kind of derogatory or "freak" comments toward Killer Croc. He never held back when talking shit about Two-Face, Scarecrow or the Penguin, but never made a crack about Croc

Croc looks best in arkham asylum cause he looks scary and intense. I like that they gave him a tail in arkham knight but he also looks kinda fat as he has a bit of a beer belly. Arkham asylum was best
The whole thing with Croc's look in Arkham knight is that like in the comic's as his condition worsens he keeps evolving more crocodile like. So that's why they changed the look, but i one hundred present agree Croc's look In Asylum was amazing.......

I thought his Asylum/City look was identical aside from his scales but I agree completely. His look in Arkham kind of made it seem like he was more Crocodile than man which always made him seem cooler. I didn't mind the tail but the sagging stomach and lack of pants made it seem worse.

I love the evolution of the Waylon in the games. Just like the comics, Waylon loses more of his humanity as time progresses, until he is reduced to a savage beast.

Fun Fact: Croc probably didn't killed Scarecrow when he "kidnapped" since crocodiles doesn't do that. When a crocodile catch a prey out of water, it drags the prey to a secret place under water and waits until the meat is soft, doesn't eat it at the start.

Croc got a raw deal in life because of his condition. But ultimately the choices as to how to deal with it are on him, as much as they are on Bruce and his decision to become a vigilante. Waylon Jones is another mirror for Bruce Wayne; although Bruce can't really relate to having an illness, he can relate to the hardships of life and lack of family. But Bruce CHOSE the Bat while what Croc has become physically was forced on him. But no, that doesn't justify his cannibalism or the victims he's laid waste. Anyone know that he's really African-American? He's from Louisiana. Based on his record, he was in and out of juvenile hall before his teens, and when he finally killed someone, he sentence was a lot longer. He could've stayed in the circus fighting alligators, but he turned to crime as a way of getting back at society for shunning him as a freak of nature, much in the same vernacular as the Penguin does. It was Loeb and Lee's take on him in Hush that I started to feel sympathetic; up till that point he was another monster to me. He hates the way he looks as much as he hates humanity, and these assholes in this game robbed him of whatever humanity he had left. I mean look at how he APPEARED near the end. He had literally become a humanoid crocodile between Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight. I don't know really know who's the bigger monster in the latter half of the movie, Croc or the Warden? He's totally unrepentant and shifting blame to Croc because of how he looks. Jones may be terrifying to look at, but that man disgusts me. I'm sure Wayne Enterprises can look into reversing the mutation because God knows the Warden wasn't interested. Poetic how they wind up in side by side cells. I don't think the Warden or his cronies will be sleeping much.
Some of the backstorys have it where people came and killed his whole circus family, pushing him more to hate humanity. So the circus wasn't always an option for him

But I don't know if you know this but it was this Batman animated show back in 2004 which had killer croc who wad voiced by Ron Perlman which he gave croc a great Louisiana accent which was great. If you ask me, the arkham asylum missions definitely had the fear factor. Scarecrow had me scared, but scarecrow and killer croc! I was terrified that whole mission! Killer Croc is probably the 2 scariest villan. Number 1 being scarecrow obviously

Croc is by far my favorite Batman villain. I always hope that something goes right for him (even if it involves some people getting eaten) just because how rough he had it. If there is ever a series strictly on one Batman villain, and yes I know there's several already, I hope it's Croc.

Killer Croc's back story is kind of saddening and somehow understandable, of how and why he has so much hate within him.

I find it strange that aside from Riddler and Joker, the only other villain to appear in every single game is Killer Croc.
He was the first boss fight in Origins (and chronologically the entire series), a stealth boss fight in Asylum, an interactive easter egg in City, and a side mission boss in Knight. And he gets more and more croc-like as time goes on. The devs must have really loved Killer Croc.

This is my favorite interpretation of the Croc. Just an unrelenting freight train of teeth, with an unfortunate condition that turns him both stronger and more tragic as it develops. Hearing his simplified speech in Arkham Knight was legitimately disheartening.

I loved the Arkham Knight Croc. It just fits his character so well. I liked most of his iterations in the games, but that one was just too good.
I love how Waylon says "first he suffers, like us" in Arkham Knight. It shows that, despite his hatred for humanity, he does care for people who're treated unjustly. Even if they were prisoners that had good reasons to be locked away, you can't just treat them like wild animals. That'll only make the prisoners act even worse than before.

When Batman frees Warden, there are two Killer Crocs on the ground. I think the original design is the best but the newest one is amazing.

I just realized something; WayneTech makes alot of the cells of these criminals, like here at the end. WayneTech is actually invested in the private prison scheme, this is why Bruce Wayne is Batman; so he can make alot of money from selling his private prisons while he sends them prisoners. So in reality, Batman is a villain.

I always visioned croc like the animated series. With a fairly decent height "instead of being like 12 ft tall" and with a gray more clammy skin "instead of legit croc skin"

Technically he lets them catch him from time to time. I think croc enjoys the company of being in prison. He finds comfort among the sorrow company of others.

His mutation makes him really angry and as time goes on he becomes more and more aggressive. His mind is deteriorating and eventually there won’t be anything left except primal instinct
Actually, his tail accidentally hits the guy when he turned around. I saw it from a different angle and his tail hits the guy. I find it hilarious that the guy gets back up afterwards.

One thing the Arkham series knows how to do? Make Killer Croc an intermediating threat for your nightmares that makes your heart race with fear.
I feel bad for him. I know in Arkhangelsk origins he was mutated somehow because he could smell batman but I think of then was him being normal. In his actual origin he had a skin condition that made him have dried up scaley skin. Everyone bullied him so he started working out. He also but off others body parts to complete the role but he didn't eat them. Then later in Arkhangelsk asylum he must've been experimented on a little bit because he grew more teeth and grew bigger. He must've been hiding in the sewers in Arkham city. He was probably hiding from the warden. And in Arkham knight we can tell through the footage that they caught him and experimented on him again. This is why he now has a tail, crocodile physique, ect.
+Harley Quinn His condition causes him to grow and mutate more and more. Experimentation in Arkham Knight caused it to mutate faster than normal.

What i think what happened In Asylum was that due to his condition worsening due to physical or mental Trauma (Like in the comics) the Trauma of being in jail made evolve accidentally without realizing it, but he just ignored. But when experimented, on the trauma worsened now he is losing the ability to speak proper sentaces and shit
I'm scared because I have a bit of scaley skin and it is growing 😨
