I watched a video on a Takeuchi TB 235-2 around 3 year ago and month later I ordered one. But mine came with fuel suction kit as standard it’s all built in and has pipe in hydraulic area. Use suction hose every day will suck a 5 gallon drum in a minute. Even got a hydraulic quick hitch. Never looked back after this machine! 💪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I'm super impressed with the Takeuchi TB235-2 also. I'm so glad that this is the brand, size, and machine that I ended up with.

Good morning, David! yes - the refueling process is a work out. BUT - thankfully this Takeuchi just sips fuel, so it doesn’t get refueled very often.

I just used it the last two days cleaning up some brush and removing stumps - the air-conditioned cab is a nice place to work!

The organization I work for has a Cat 314-D and a Takeuchi TB280FR. Re fueling you machine go to Harbor Freight and buy a battery pump for $20.00 bucks. You will be a happy man. Also keep spare filters and pins and fluid. When exiting the cab face the machine.

Thanks! I've been thinking about rotating the house slightly - so that when I exit - I can easily step on the tracks. When the house is straight in line with the tracks, there isn't much of a step.

In my opinion, much better quality than the Chinese mini excavators. Those are very jerky when you use them, not much precision when using those machines. I can definitely understand the egress problem when exiting the cab. They could have fixed that with a step between the upper and lower part of the tracks or a step right below the cab door. Very useful information! Thanks for sharing, Chad!

I agree with you. I don't have anything bad to say about those Chinese mini ex machines - but I do think the hydraulics on this Takeuchi is much smoother than any other machine I've ever used. Even when compared to my little John Deere FEL, or the Kubota I've run previously. It's just a really solid and smooth machine to operate.

Just got my tb230, they were meant to run through everything with me but the salesman didnt turn up, you came to the rescue XD only thing im trying to figure out is even with more revs etc its really jerky when driving forward etc. And also the hydraulic hitch is confusing me a little. Safe to say lovely machines and nice video thankyou.

Engine oil filter is in a horrible spot. What kind of wrench do people use to deal with this? My only complaint, it’s an amazing machine

Very true. I can just barely even get my hand down in there without any tool. I'll look forward to seeing other's answers to the question.

There is no way to get at it with a standard belt wrench.I tried removing the bottom plate for access and it wasn’t any better. There has to be a way

That sounds like a good future video. Here's some information that might help: th-cam.com/video/PrtETzUhozI/w-d-xo.html
And here's our mini-ex playlist. You might be able to see me working the thumb in some of the inside cab shots of these videos: th-cam.com/play/PLJy7cj0ut2cAgFqwD4kcGKneZTb8z7697.html

dont think you metioned how to turn on the two speed for the tracks have you found that button yet? it was one of the buttons on the front of the joysticks atleast it was on a tb260 i ran i cant remeber if it was the left or right joystick though its been a few years since i ran a takeuchi it took me a bit to find it since no other manufacturer puts it on the joysticks

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Excellent addition! Yes - the right joystick trigger is used to change the drive speed (tracks) to fast. When you click the trigger - the rabbit appears on the display to let you know you’re in high-speed travel mode. It will automatically change back to normal speed if under a load. Or you can click that trigger again to turn the rabbit indicator off and return to regular travel speed.

Looking into this exact machine I plan to use it around the property/fence lines. I have a heavy equipment operator background . But I’ve never owned one. Has this machine been worth the price? Also can you get to the oil filter from the bottom of machine?

That question is the ongoing debate at my house. :)
As far as is the Takeuchi TB235-2 worth the $55,000-65,000 as a machine - absolutely. The Takeuchi brand is well built, commercial grade, and much better than some other brands that I've looked at. So I do think it's a good machine for the money. Was it worth it for our use - that's the debate here at our house. I used it to quickly complete the projects that I've been putting off for over 10 years. I've used it for projects that popped up - and it gave me opportunities to do work myself that I would have needed to pay someone else to do. But now I need to see how many other times I use it and if it pays off over time.

I think it shows that in the manual? But mine was already disabled when I got it.
