How to use a PECKER/BREAKER on a MINI DIGGER - TAKEUCHI TB230

I don't have a trade, I just have a go. The hire bloke didn't tell me how to do this properly so I had to work it out myself. Maybe this might save you some head scratching :)

I've used an older machine since where there was no panel to select the accessories so you just plug and play. The buttons on the left joystick were slightly different but I guess different brand machines would be similar. Also I struggled to connect one of the hoses (they push on and then twist the collar) as it was locked under pressure, I just loosened the nut at the connector on the pecker side to release the lock then tightened it again. It's best to connect with the engine off. 👍

Looks like you've got some "peckin" to do !
It's also worth stopping the engine and working the hydraulics with the ignition on to release any pressure in the attachment before disconnecting or coupling up. If you don't you could end up with to the pipes not connecting up and you have to split the pipe fittings to release any pressure before the couplings will connect. If that makes sense ! ?

That might work on machines that don't have pilot controls.
That should work on machines that have direct hydraulic controls.
Pilot controls only work when the engine is running for safety.
I believe that all excavators do have a safety lockout which is the lever next to the seat that turns off the controls while the engine is running so you can get on and off the machine without accidentally bumping a lever and hitting something with the boom.
Some machines have a pressure release function that works when you have the engine off and the ignition on and push the pressure release button to release the pressure.
