I agree that this is a controversial topic, wether killua has a crush on gon or not. Yes, some people ship them (including me) because of how close they are, and some people think they’re just bros being bros (which is understandable both ways). There are just some hints that killua may or may not be crushing on gon. Maybe just maybe, killua is just blushing cuz he’s just embarrassed of how straightforward gon is, but killua crushing gon is not officially announced as far as I know. I don't think he's gay. Male friendship can be a lot closer than people think. Sexuality does not always have to be at play to create close bonds and attachments. Plus, they're kids and they were written well in that respect.
Since Gon dated a lot of women and was able to handle a very stubborn woman, I'm sure Gon knows and accepts those feelings but gives Killua time to warm up to the feeling. In the meantime pretty sure Gon is a tease to him XD

It's only natural that they're so attached to each other. They're each other's first and best friend. I don't care about the ship but it'd make sense that they're really head over heels for each other since they never learned how a friendship is supposed to work. So maybe they're confused about their feelings and mix up crush and friendship just cause they've never actually experienced it as a kid. Killua getting embarrassed when complimented is natural cause nobody's ever been this nice to him and he's not used to it. But how Killua talks about him is quite interesting. Prime example: When Kite was killed by Pitou, Killua was really down and Gon pep talked him, he looked at him with such admiration and a soft expression. Then we see Gon from Killua's perspective and he legit looks angelic in the setting sun. And Killua thinks (translated from the German dub, idk what he's saying in other languages) "Gon... you are the light. Sometimes you shine so brightly I can barely look at you. But... can I still stay by your side?" Of course he admires Gon and is grateful for him but saying things like that sounds really romantic imo. After Gon basically saving Killua from his abusive home it's normal that Killua would be obsessed with Gon. Not to mention how Killua constantly worries about Gon, basically goes to war with him, thinks he doesn't deserve him, risks his life repeatedly to stay by his side and is fully prepared to sacrifice himself for him. He only ever really cried about Gon and Alluka. Tbh sometimes I was a little upset cause I think that Killua does more for Gon than the other way around but that's not the topic. Right. Killua never really had any light in his life sense he lived in a dark and isolated place and his family trained him to be something he wasnt really fit to be. Gon openly and straight fowardly shares his appreciation towards Killua which makes him happy. In that scene where gon pep-talks him and like you said gon looks angelic and like shiny and everything, when I watched that scene i felt like killua looked at gon as an angel/savior. Unless im overthinking lol. I mean, killua did admit gon was his light to his darkness and he lived and was raised in a lot of darkness. Honestly, I understand Killua. Imagine living in a dark and abusive household and you never really felt loved or you felt your family members didnt really love you and all they did was train you to become a murderer and you never really had friends or an actual person to openly appreciate you and show gratitude towards you. And then after 12 years you actually feel what that is. Shoot, I doubt killua even knew what appreciation and admiration was growing up or even then. So when he finally felt it he was probably confused but very happy. I think killua see gon can’t be described just by friendship or love. The way killua looks and feels towards gon beyond that. Gon to killua is someone precious just like an angel that always see him as someone that won’t determine him of right and wrong. The way gon acts toward killua makes killua feel he has a home, a place where someone will always be there for him no matter what he do or happens right now and future, a place to return when he gone to do smth and comeback. And killua value that the most, gladly killua understand quickly what are gon is saying most of them. It's only natural that they're so attached to each other. They're each other's first and best friend. I don't care about the ship but it'd make sense that they're really head over heels for each other since they never learned how a friendship is supposed to work. So maybe they're confused about their feelings and mix up crush and friendship just cause they've never actually experienced it as a kid.
Killua getting embarrassed when complimented is natural cause nobody's ever been this nice to him and he's not used to it. But how Killua talks about him is quite interesting. Prime example:
When Kite was killed by Pitou, Killua was really down and Gon pep talked him, he looked at him with such admiration and a soft expression. Then we see Gon from Killua's perspective and he legit looks angelic in the setting sun. And Killua thinks (translated from the German dub, idk what he's saying in other languages) "Gon... you are the light. Sometimes you shine so brightly I can barely look at you. But... can I still stay by your side?" Of course he admires Gon and is grateful for him but saying things like that sounds really romantic imo. After Gon basically saving Killua from his abusive home it's normal that Killua would be obsessed with Gon.
Not to mention how Killua constantly worries about Gon, basically goes to war with him, thinks he doesn't deserve him, risks his life repeatedly to stay by his side and is fully prepared to sacrifice himself for him. He only ever really cried about Gon and Alluka.
Tbh sometimes I was a little upset cause I think that Killua does more for Gon than the other way around but that's not the topic.
I don't think a 12yo is capable of having a functioning romantic relationship but I do believe they can have feelings for each other. So Killua might have a crush on Gon but I guess it's weird to be invested in a kid's relationships. So. Idc.

Right. Killua never really had any light in his life sense he lived in a dark and isolated place and his family trained him to be something he wasnt really fit to be. Gon openly and straight fowardly shares his appreciation towards Killua which makes him happy. In that scene where gon pep-talks him and like you said gon looks angelic and like shiny and everything, when I watched that scene i felt like killua looked at gon as an angel/savior. Unless im overthinking lol. I mean, killua did admit gon was his light to his darkness and he lived and was raised in a lot of darkness. Honestly, I understand Killua. Imagine living in a dark and abusive household and you never really felt loved or you felt your family members didnt really love you and all they did was train you to become a murderer and you never really had friends or an actual person to openly appreciate you and show gratitude towards you. And then after 12 years you actually feel what that is. Shoot, I doubt killua even knew what appreciation and admiration was growing up or even then. So when he finally felt it he was probably confused but very happy. Ofc I dont mean he doesnt know his feelings towards gon at all its like that bedroom scene when killua looked at sleeping he was probably thinking about how gon changed his life and became totally devoted to him and was willing to do anything for him as thanks to gon for showing him what happiness was/is. Idk if killua was blushing at gon sleeping though if he was I will admit thats a lil fruity 👀 I apologize if this is too long lol. Im just glad I found someone to relate and agree upon about killua and his feelings.

I think killua see gon can’t be described just by friendship or love. The way killua looks and feels towards gon beyond that. Gon to killua is someone precious just like an angel that always see him as someone that won’t determine him of right and wrong. The way gon acts toward killua makes killua feel he has a home, a place where someone will always be there for him no matter what he do or happens right now and future, a place to return when he gone to do smth and comeback. Gon itself didn’t judge him or forcing killua to understand how the world’s works or how to be a normal person. And killua value that the most, gladly killua understand quickly what are gon is saying most of them. Gon isn’t a person that completes him like air, but gon is a person that always stay beside him like an angel.
