Why was Gon excited to see Hisoka? Isn’t he creeped out by Hisoka? This always confused me,
@@abbyson16 There’s a sort of frienemy relationship between Hisoka and Gon. They actually have a lot in common. They both have that classic shounen protagonist syndrome where instead of “a good cause justifies any fight” it’s “a good fight justifies any cause.” They’re just in it for the thrill of the challenge and to get stronger. Hisoka represents the dark and perverse side of that grind. He wants Gon alive and to progress because he sees the potential in him to become a formidable rival, which is so hard to come by for him. Gon conversely sees Hisoka as someone to aspire to be in power and wit, that beating every deliberately crafted challenge Hisoka comes up with for him (punching him to give back the badge, breaking through his Nen barrier, avoiding his bungee gum, etc.) is evidence that he has grown stronger. In that way, Hisoka is almost like a cruel mentor to Gon and so there’s some amount of respect shared between them.

Yeah. Idk if it'd be the "next arc" but I kinda hope it is, since they do intend to continue the anime within the next couple years. One of the new arcs is another very Kurapika esque one too, and I think in a continuation of the anime and manga it's a good idea they shiftted to not just Gon and Killua EVEN THOUGH i ended up loving the Chimera Art Arc (longest by far and without even when the spiders got a small appearance).
Probably the arc that I like the most ^.^
