I'm One Japanese fan. I'm grateful that this anime is being watched all over the world. I think Killua's reaction is honest. In fact, from Gon's point of view, Killua should be one of the few special friends of his age, but I find it rather scary that he would sacrifice his life for Kaito without thinking feelings of Killya, and that he would show endless kindness that never stops. ...It feels like a glimpse of madness.

I just realized (I haven’t watched the movie yet) that the reason Killua dislikes Retz so much is because he’s afraid she’ll take his place and then Killua will be alone like Illumi told him. Killua has been raised that no one would ever be friends with him, and once Gon came along he realized this wasn’t true. If Retz did take Killua’s place, Killua would be left with no one and would most likely kill himself again 😭😭
