Nothing changes with weight requirements. You just pop it off the base and set it on the floor by itself.

I think she was in it til 7 to 9 months. Once she could sit up on her own we switched to a bumbo seat
Don’t like it at all it swings to fast even on the slowest setting. It’s uneven my baby is 5 months 14lbs and she almost tips over in this swing.
If it's uneven you've got it on uneven ground or screwed the feet on slightly crooked
