    I love how you take pride in your work. It looks so beautiful. After it's complete it's going to look like a $5M Catamaran

    Beauty boat! Enjoyed all nice work views with -in the middle- during and before/after results. You make it seem less difficult. We know that daymare.
    I love to hear your laugh Tali and caught Gunther smiling. You are living the dream and we will follow in your wake. Brisk winds and sunny days!!

      Thanks Judith, yes, when it’s over it doesn’t seem sos harsh. Luckily we seem to forget the hard things day by day more 😉🥂❤️

    Работы мало не бывает..... но результат впечатляет. То что не потеряли мачту - это удача - пусть она всегда будет рядом с Вами. Вы просто великолепны!

    Working in that heat intensity and that hard all day you probably had to tell yourselves many times per day that there is a day soon which we will be finished and a few minutes later want to cry you are so tired. An incredible blessing that you didn’t lose your mast. Safe sailing ⛵️

      Yes, Kathleen, exactly how you describe it...

    Aye m8’s, this must have been very frustrating. And on top of that the vulcano ashes!
    And isn't it Joanna Bamba at 07:55? She makes entré to your channel?

      We will stay a while in Colombia. Tali waits for her new passport to arrive, this can take some month. Then we plan to go on to San Blas islands, if it’s still possible. And then??????

    The boat turned out so beautiful! How on earth do you fund this though? I'm new to your channel but after so many years onboard and all daily sailing costs, I don't know how anyone can afford these refits. Thank you!

      We have not been on a shipyard for over 6 years - so in this time you put aside a certain sum for the boat, so then it’s there when you need it

    Another nice video. I've always wondered how much weight copper coating adds to a vessel. Do you know how much weight it adds and is the additional weight something you considered when choosing an antifouling? Thanks again for the video.

    • @UmadumSailing
      @UmadumSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We really didnot weight the coppercoat. On a cat weighing 5 tons empty the bags of copper should not count too much. And don’t forget, normal anti fouling has its weight too.
      It’s the long list of unnecessary items people put on their cats which really counts

    Respekt, das war eine Monster - Aufgabe! Vielleicht könnt ihr ein Feedback über copper-coat geben,wir haben es für unsere Langfahrt im Hinterkopf. stay safe, 🇦🇹

    • @UmadumSailing
      @UmadumSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coppercoat funktioniert - wenn ihr euch punktgenau an die Vorgaben beim präparieren und auftragen haltet. Gute Beschreibung auf der Webseite, besser und detaillierter auf der coppercoat/USA Seite. Die 10-15 Jahre, von der sie sprechen, mag in den kälteren Gewässern Europas funktionieren, in warmen Gewässern viel kürzer. Wir haben 6 Jahre rausgeholt, sind aber auch über 20.000 am unterwegs gewesen und dies teilweise in extrem wachsenden Gebieten.
      Putzen alle 3-4 Wochen, um den Schleim und eventuelle Barnacles zu entfernen, wobei die Kalkfuesse easy weggehen. So oft putzen klingt nach viel, aber in diesen warmen Gewässern müsst ihr das bei normalem Antifouling auch tun, wobei der Kalk haften bleibt, normales Antifouling ist in diesen Gewässern gut für Max 1 Jahr.
      Falls ihr mehr Details braucht, schreibt uns ein Mail über unsere UMADUM sailing Webseite.
      Viel Glück!
