Charlie was a man of dignity and integrity.
Faithful to his wife of 57 years, he never strayed.

I will never forget when about half way through the show the lights went out, they walked down the middle of the floor, then all of a sudden a small stage popped up and the guys took their positions. RIP Charlie. I grew up listening to the Stones, and the drumming you did on 'Miss You' is one of my favorite songs to air drum to. Say hi to Vinnie Paul, Neil Peart and Dime for me.

Loved him. He totally anchored that band…never knew just how much until I first saw them Live in concert. Masterful. Subtle power, but it truly held the whole thing together. Rest easy, Charlie. And thanks for the memories. The music never dies, and you therefore left us with an embarrassment of riches.

Great bands have great drummers. Everyone acknowleges Charlie, Ringo, Peart, Bonham, Moon; but there are a lot of underrated drummers that really were the backbones of their band. Guys like Roger Taylor, Clem Burke, Alex Van Halen, Martin Chambers, Frank Beard and so many others.

Definition of class and what it means to be humble and awesome all at the same time. One of my favorite drummers of all time but it had nothing to do with being a drummer. He was just an awesome human that we got to experience in our life time. And we learned from his example…

Not sure what you mean. It was subtly ambiguous. He was proud of the fact that Mick would want to claim him as his drummer; and yet he felt belittled at the same time. He wanted to remind Mick they were a band.

Drumming until almost 80. He was a Rock. Such a shock being no mention of any heart problems. Mick has a heart issue and recovered quickly from his surgery. Damn cigarettes. Yet he had quit for a bit over 3 decades. Got through his cancer. Just thought nothing much of his resting up. Very sad. So looking forward in seeing Charlie jam.
