Great review Chris , I stayed there just before Xmas and my reasons were location because it was handy to the tube to see the Christmas lights in Regent Street and next day we were catching the train from Waterloo . Agree with your comments about the friendly staff and I had almost forgotten just how long the passageway was, I thought it was part of the London Marathon Course.

I had no idea there was a hotel there! I remember walking by that building when I was going between the London Eye and the Palace of Westminster during my trip to London a few years back. The hotel looks quite nice especially with it close to many of the attractions. I agree that the gray and orange color scheme do not go well together. It seems out of place. Great review!
Yeah.. it's pretty hidden... The entrance is tucked way down that long driveway. But hidden in plain sight! :)
Thanks a lot Chris! These videos are just perfect. I am planning 4 days trip to visit London for the first time. I am deciding between Marriott Park Lane vs County Hall using Marriott rewards since these hotels charge the same amount of reward points. After watching, I think I will go for County hall in the first night I arrived to get the feel of London then move to Park Lane for the rest of the stay. Do you think Park Lane would be a better choice to stay on weekend?
I think that's a good plan :). I don't think the day of the week will make much of a difference at these hotels.. Though Sunday is cool at Park Lane because it's right across speakers corner

It's a very good hotel, if you want a budget version there is also a large Premier Inn around the back of the County Hall which has similar rooms inside the same building but on a smaller cost. 😊 Less of a view, but still awesome location.

I used to work there when Ken Livingstone used to run it and it was part of the Greater London Council, and it used to paint the number of the areas unemployed on its walls overlooking the Thames. It used to get on Thatchers nerves - so she abolished it

How was the half glass shower curtain? Get any water outside of it? Looks better than some of the half ones you get in other European countries.
It was pretty decent in this room.. it was longer than most half glass curtains.. so I was able to keep most of the water in the shower ;)
We'll be there in January 2023. Four of us (2 adults, 2 kids) staying in a Deluxe Room, 2 Double Beds, Non Smoking. Any review of that room category?
Also, we are Marriott Bonvoy Gold members, are we.eligible to use the executive lounge?
I think for the executive lounge you need to be Platinum or above. So I don't think gold will get you in there.

In your Marriott Park Lane review you mentioned the daily price of the room. What is the room price at County Hall Marriott?
Slightly less than the Park Lane Marriott.. if Park Lane is at 300-350 GBP on a particular night then County Hall is maybe 200 to 250 GBP
do they call the video arcade, an arcade? I know arcade is the word they use for like a shopping area, here in America an arcade is a video arcade with video games.

What part of London is equivalent to DTLA or union square SF?
Probably the area around Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square
