    I was recently diagnosed with severe sinusitis and had to take medications. Those medications caused me to have severe dry eyes. I considered buying this and gave it a try. I saw a change a change within a week of using it. No longer have a blurry vision or eye redness. So happy I found this!

    Thanks a million for sharing this Judi.
    Dry eyes for me were due to regular computer usage for official purposes.
    I was also using eye drops which were progressively getting stronger, but i used it for only 4 - 8 times in a month.
    The supplement works like a charm.
    After taking the supplement, eyes feel so fresh. Earlier i used to have constant pain in the nerves around the eye - due to dry eye.

    Interesting! After nearly 30 years of suffering from dry eye myself I have come to the conclusion that the problem is a secondary inflammatory response triggered by H pylori present in the stomach. Eating such things like Mustard, black pepper, coffee, and loads of other various spices will trigger the dry eye ‘flare-up’ for me. This inflammatory response may not manifest right away, but may take about a day to show up… which is why it took soooo long to figure this connection out! This was just a theory I had, so I went to get tested for H. Pylori, and I was positive. (No big surprise, because it is believed that nearly 70% of the world’s population is also infected). So why doesn’t everyone suffer from dry eye? Because there are several different strains of the H Pylori bacteria, and it is just a theory, but that these different strains cause the body to react in different ways. My grandfather, who raised me, also had burning and hurting eyes- I just assumed I inherited this from him… however, my eyes were just fine until about the age of 15! I remembered him putting cayenne pepper in a glass of water a few times a day, and drinking it. That is what I do now- Why? Because it actually helps the stomach, and temporarily inhibits the effects of inflammation in the stomach. I haven’t treated the H Pylori yet, simply because I am dealing with a myriad of other health problems, and just can’t justify taking all those antibiotics atm. I have tried to share my theory with other ‘dry eye’ sufferers, and they just blow it off instantly! Most days I am fine if I stay hydrated, meticulously watch my diet, and put caster oil in my eyes before bed. Some day I will get rid of the H Pylori… but until then, I cope, but with a new arsenal of knowledge about what works. I will try your recommendation as well! In my honest opinion it seems like most of the ‘dry eye’ community is totally unconcerned with finding a cure, and would rather learn about what drops will work best to treat the condition. I’m glad to hear that there is a truth seeker out there besides myself!

    • @JudiintheKitchen

      Hi John! Thank you so much for sharing your history regarding dry eyes and H. pylori! VERY interesting and something I hadn't come across before. This intrigues me, because I have suspected (years ago) that I was overloaded with H. Pylori, but for other reasons (rosacea). I will look into this. Again, I appreciate your sharing and I'm glad you found a way to cope with your health situation. It seems we ALL have something to cope with in one way or another. I guess it's part of being human. Yes, I agree that many people look for a simple whatever to stop a symptom without trying to address the bottom line. Looking for the cause of a problem has been an interest of mine since I was a child...really! And that's never stopped, but only gotten stronger over the years. Best wishes to you in your quest to find the bottom line to your dry eyes. If you try the omega-3 oils, please try to remember to share your results here. I'd love to know the results and your post will also help others out there! Take care :)

      Hi Diane! Thanks for watching and sharing! I truly hope this helps for you. If you are already taking fish oils, you may need something else. Please check your diet to be sure you're getting enough vitamin A/beta-carotene. I do NOT suggest you take beta-carotene or vitamin A supplements, but rather look at your foods. Are you eating enough colorful fruits and vegetables? Not eating enough of those valuable foods may also contribute to your problem. Dark leafy greens, pumpkin, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots, red bell peppers, cantaloupe, romaine lettuce, spinach, turnip and mustard greens, mangoes, and other foods like these are all high in beta-carotene. Getting enough vitamin A is CRITICAL for the eyes. I have a hunch that this may be part of your problem. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have questions. Best wishes to you :)

    Hi Judy,
    I wanted to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for sharing this! IT'S WORKING FOR ME! HALLELUJAH LORD THANK YOU!
    After 5 eye doctors, multiple visits to eye specialist (driving hours to see "the best supposed specialist") having an ocular culture test completed to the tune of $10,000 (I paid $1,000) and 1,000's of dollars for eye drops, vitamins, wipes, sprays that did not work only being told the same story "Dry eye" because most eye doctors have no idea (horomones) play such a HUGE role in a our body functions (it's a synergistic effect) needless to say I was very sceptical about trying "another supposed vitamin remedy" but thought why not try it and see....and WOW, WOW, WOW, am I forever THANKFUL I did.
    Even though I'm only on my 2nd day (1st day I took 2 as recommended and today 2 in the a.m. and 2 tonight and the difference ALREADY is unbelievable. My extremely red, blurry, watery, burning, itchy, runny, strained ocular surface eyes is almost miraculous... I'm blown away. SO AMAZINGLY THANKFUL to you for sharing this.
    As I said above I'm only on my 2nd day (3rd dose) but the difference 95% amazingly better, what a difference, it truly is almost unbelievable.
    THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU is not enough to tell you regarding how appreciative I am for you sharing this. I know it's still early in my taking the vitamins but the difference in only 3 doses is really truly AMAZING.
    I purchased the Vegan Omega 3 Supplement (60 Softgels) - Algal Oil with DHA, EPA, Omega 3 & 6 Fatty Acids from Algae - Plant Based Vegetarian Alternative to Fish OiIl from amazon for those curious.
    I believe alot of women and men go through eye issues as we get older and hormones for both men and women play a HUGE role in this. That was the trigger (looking back) to when my eye issues began. (Horomones dropping)
    Again, THANK YOU for sharing this miracle remedy and may you be abundantly blessed 100 times over for the eyes/lives that will be significantly changed because of your sharing this life transforming information.
    Mega blessings,

    Some people supplement with fat soluble vitamins such as A, E, D, and K, but going to foods is probably the most bio-available route. Other things to look into are problems with absorption of fatty acids / fat soluble vitamins related to gall bladder. Stay hydrated, and stay mindful of insulin resistance....

    I wonder, when being menopausal, would the omega’s etc. be just as beneficial? As during that time dry eyes are often related to a drop in hormones. But we can’t all go on hrt, so I’d prefer having what you are recommending..

      Hi Julie! Thank you for watching and asking! For me, the vegan omega 3 supplements did the trick. I tried the warm compresses and that did nothing for me. I've even had an eye doctor say he quit suggesting that since they do little for most people. This is why I did the video. It may not be the total answer for everyone, but it worked SO well for me (and still does) that I felt compelled to share the results with others. Another thing that can cause eyes to be dry is not enough carotenoids in the diet (vitamin A). It is NOT advisable to take beta-carotene supplements. it's best to eat lots of fruits and vegetables high in the carotenoids. Simple...look for color in the plant foods. Carrots, peaches, plums, red/black grapes, dark green leafy vegetables, cantaloupe, butternut squash, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, broccoli...get the picture? Load up on them too and hopefully that will do the trick for you, or at least help. I hope this helps and that you can find an answer that works for you! Cellphones, laptops and computers give us dry eye. Everyone is on their phones day and night. Reduce your cellphone time until your eyes return to normal. Take a fish oil supplement, flaxseed or an algae form of omega. The cellphones unfortunately created this nasty nightmare. If you take a high dose of omega you could have stomach issues from it. Do high dose for quicker relief and move to lower dose for maintance or start eating tuna a few times a week.

    Hi Judi, thank you again for this. I posted the other day. I have my pharmaceutical strength fish oils but have also been using artificial drops about 5-6 times a day, eye wipes, and reducing screen time. I have also been taking Vit D and evening primrose oil and B12. Increasing eggs, avocado and salmon. Hormones can effect eyes and I am in perimenopause. One thing I want to mention is that if any of your viewers have rosacea they should discuss with their dr the possibility of them having Ocular rosacea. The two can go hand in hand. There are a number of triggers for rosacea and you can have one or the other or both rosacea and ocular rosacea. I have rosacea and I did some research that found doxycycline is effective treatment. My dr started me on this 6 days ago. It should take 4-6 weeks to improve if the problem is ocular rosacea. This however has symptoms like lots of conditions- dry eyes, stinging, fatigue, burning, photophobia redness. Anyway the interesting thing is 1 day ago I started to see a lot of improvement. I’m not there yet though. What I did when I saw massive over night improvement was listening to binaural beats for physical healing. These are sound frequencies that resonate with our cells. I found this on you tube. I recommend Subscribing to Good Vibes.. Binaural’ . I am heaps better with the combo of everything I’m doing. Oh and more water. Lastly I am going to say what I think triggered my eye issue. I had my first Covid vax and had flu symptoms for a week. Then the eyes started . That was 4 weeks back. This is not to discourage people getting vaxed but what I will say make sure you are as healthy as you can be when you are vaxed. I’m sm worried about my 2nd dose in 2 weeks. I had blood tests to check for autoimmune disease markers and thankfully all good. These past 4 weeks have been hell, and I was seriously worried I could not work properly again (on a screen 8 hrs a day) nor enjoy simple things like watch a movie without eye strain and irritation. I’m a single parent, only 47 and I was petrified for my career and lifestyle. Judy thank you for the video again. Blessings!! I was so motivated with your fish oils results xxxx

    • @JudiintheKitchen
      @JudiintheKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Christine! First...I did not suggest fish oil. Rather, I use algae (vegan) omega 3 DHA/EPA supplements. There is a difference. I do not suggest fish oils because of their high levels of mercury in them. So, I REALLY needed to clarify this one point.
      Secondly, you sound like a carbon copy of me. I suffered from VERY serious rosacea for MANY years. In fact, most of my life. I have been through many years of antibiotic treatment, all to no avail. I too had ocular rosacea, so what you described was right on with my condition (For the record, I cleared up my rosacea long before suffering with dry eyes like I discussed in the video). After many years of suffering and getting worse and worse despite countless doctors' treatments, I found the answer for myself. It's all a matter of what you put in your mouth. Literally. First I tested my body's pH and I was extremely acidic. So, with that information, I actively pursued whatever it took to correct that problem. It took me a year alone just to wean myself off of the antibiotics. (My skin was addicted and would flare up even worse when I omitted the antibiotics. However, over time and with persistence, I managed to wean myself off of them, and it was the best thing I could have done for myself.) I turned my diet around to greatly increase whole plant foods that were alkalizing, and greatly reduce/omit foods that were acidifying. Over time, my skin improved in remarkable ways...all without medications. I wrote a blog post about it so I could document what I did and share my experience with others along with the tips I learned along the way. Maybe this will help you... www.judiklee.com/2014/07/23/rosacea-no-more-meds-and-my-skin-is-clear/ In more recent years I have found yet further ways to help cleanse my body and my skin is clearing up even further in ways I didn't know it could. So literally, the answer lies in what you put in your mouth...REALLY.
      I too tried binaural beats. It may have helped me some, but I didn't notice obvious results like you did. I'm glad you found benefit in them :)
      I don't blame you for being cautious about vaccines, especially with your reactions to the first one. You're in a real dilemma there, so my heart goes out to you on which way to go regarding the vaccine. It's a serious individual choice.
      I hope all this has helped you in some special way. Thanks for watching and sharing your story. Best wishes to you and yours. Stay well :)

I think I was ultra stressed when I went to the pharmacy and picked up fish oils but they are very high quality ones (I just checked on the pack- practitioner issued and very very low mercury). I will swap over to your suggestion however because it’s safer. My skin rosacea has never been very bad and I’ve used doxycycline for a brief period for a bit of a flair a few months back. Just noting that while this may help some, it does not help everyone. I have the same problem Judi has, have had it for roughly five years, and it has gradually become worse. During and before that time, I have been taking prescription fish oil (omega 3 fatty acids) to help with coronary issues and triglyceride levels, 4 grams per day standard dosage. The prescription form is a purer and more controlled version of fish oil, as opposed to the highly variable product in typical OTC supplements. As I said, my condition has only grown worse, not better. Try Judi's approach if you haven't already, and I hope it helps you. Just be aware this is not necessarily the total answer to this problem. It's a complicated condition with multiple possible causes, and I haven't found a medical professional yet that claims to have a cure.

    Hi Judi, thanks again for the interesting video!!
    May I ask, did you also get your tear ducts checked by a doctor? If they are clogged, there are ways to open them. And then taking omega 3 on top may help some of us here.

    • @JudiintheKitchen
      @JudiintheKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi C.C.! Thanks for watching and commenting! Well before I took the omega-3 supplements I had my eyes examined. The doc didn't say absolutely that I had clogged tear ducts, but did suggest I compress with a warm wash cloth. I tried that numerous times and for me, it did nothing. That's when I discovered the omega-3 supplements...after many "moons" of looking like I was crying all the time, they worked. Since then, I've spoken with other eye doctors about the same topic. One commented that he stopped suggesting the warm compresses because they did little good for most people, and that same doctor backed me up on the omega-3 supplements, which he also now recommends. Now, all that is not saying that clogged ducts aren't the problem for some people. I'm sure they are. However, from what I've learned, I believe there are far more people who are short on omega-3 fats than who have clogged ducts. So, it's worth trying both methods and seeing what works for you (or any individual). Thanks for the input on this topic! Best wishes :)

      Hi Alicia, Thanks for watching and commenting! Actually I think they will all work...it's just a matter of how much dosage is right for you. That takes a little time to try one and experiment. To specifically answer your question, I've taken the first one in the list and also the sixth one. However, I've taken others as well. Getting over the initial hurdle is the biggest thing, then just take some as a maintenance dosage. At least that's what I've done and it has worked for me. Regarding dosage, I normally take what is suggested on the bottle. I've tried taking more and didn't find it to be helpful. I hope this helps you out! Best wishes :)

    I've had dry eyes for years and have taken cod liver oil capsules for years and the capsules haven't done a thing for me. I take what the bottle suggests each day. My eyes have been so dry, with many of the symptoms you've described. I just saw my optometrist 4 days ago and was told my left cornea is scratched to the point where there's a small hole in it...Off to the eye specialist I go. So while this has worked for you, it may not work for everyone. I've literally gone through a dozen bottles of fish oil, all to no avail...In the meantime, I am using 2 kinds of preservative free eye drops, I-Drop every hour and Systane gel drops at night. I'm looking into the benefits of using castor oil (some eye drops have it in the ingredient list). No, not putting the drops IN my eyes, but gently rubbing on my eye lids and lashes...at least until I get to the eye specialist. Thanks for the video, I'm sure it will help a lot of people.

      You're right. But unfortunately, cod liver oil is not the same thing as what I was taking...far from it. I was taking non-fish (algae) EPA/DHA supplements, not fish oil of any type. Now, with that being said, there are other causes of dry eye, such as vitamin A deficiency and lack of antioxidants in the diet. Thank you Judi! I've been suffering from dry eye for about 6 months. I have Mybomium Gland Dysfunction and have been somewhat in disbelief that my life could be changed forever. In the middle of the night one of my eyeballs is stuck to my eyelid... right in the middle of the eye. It's awful. I've seen three doctors now looking for a natural remedy and possible cause. I don't believe that i came out of the blue just because I'm 58, or just because it's dry in Alaska, where I live. I'm vegetarian and I'm sure that I have deficiencies... so I am going to try this. I found the MEGA-DHA Premium Fish Oil by Nature's Way and will take it but would like to do as you did and find the algae kind. I'm absolutely sure that this condition did not appear for no reason. Doctor's can be very frustrating and have one track thinking... where is the wholistic view in our medical system!? Thank you so much for your story and I am so happy for your relief.

    • @JudiintheKitchen
      @JudiintheKitchen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Snow Bike! Thank you for watching and sharing your story. I feel for you in your situation. It does sound frightening and like something no one would want to go through. I agree that traditional doctors are far from being "holistic" in their views. But, forgive them if you can...they can't help it. They are bound to go by their training to maintain their licenses. Their training dictates that they prescribe drugs for everything they can, and they rarely know the bottom line of what they treat. So when they don't know, they claim it's old age or genetics, neither of which is true. So, that leaves the rest of us groping in the dark for answers. First, I do not suggest fish oil. It's loaded with mercury and may do more harm than good. The algae source is "clean" and it's actually the bottom line of where the fish get their omega-3's from. You said you are vegetarian. That does not mean you have deficiencies. (A vegetarian lifestyle can be VERY healthy, but of course it all depends on your personal choices.) However, anything is possible. Check the beta-carotene in your diet. Lack of enough vitamin A can cause serious eye dryness. I DO NOT SUGGEST YOU TAKE BETA-CAROTENE SUPPLEMENTS! They can be harmful for some people (especially smokers). Check your foods. Do you eat a lot of beta-carotene-rich fruits and vegetables? Carrots, cantaloupe, leafy greens, peaches, spinach, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and tomatoes are just some examples (search the internet and you'll find long lists of beta-carotene-rich foods). If you see that you don't eat many of these foods, then it's time to give them a try and load up on them as much as possible. There would certainly be no harm in increasing your intake of such foods. I agree with you, that these things don't just happen from age, but from some problems within the body that actually can be addressed.
      Here's another approach, while still along the same lines. Look up Anthony William, the Medical Medium. He has 9 books out, but the one that may do you the most good at the moment is his "Cleanse to Heal" book. I have them all and treat them like gold. I have a master's degree in nutrition and from my education, personal experience, and personal research, I truly stand by his protocols. They are the "real deal" and would help just about anyone with any issue whatsoever. In this same book, he has references to specific medical conditions and ways to help them. His books are comprehensive and offer real help. I have no connection with him, so trust that I'm speaking from my heart and not swayed by any monetary rewards whatsoever. I stand by his protocols and have been following them for almost two years (as of mid-January). My husband has been following the protocols for over a year. Both of us have seen remarkable improvements in our health...way too much to detail here. We're both sold on his protocols.
      Sorry I'm so "wordy" but my goal is to help others any way I can. Sometimes it takes writing a lot to say what I need to say. I truly hope this helps you in some way. Hang in there. Best wishes to you and yours :) Feel free to keep in touch as you need to :)

And yes, choose one brand, not multiples. I take them according to package directions, usually 2 per day. • @JudiintheKitchen
      @JudiintheKitchen  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@snowbike8032 I'm always glad to help! That's my mission at this stage in my life :) Regarding the Medical Medium (Anthony William...note that it's "William" not "Williams") books...ALL of his books are packed with valuable information. But for starters, I still think "Cleanse to Heal" is a good starting point (explore them online to decide for yourself). To understand this guy's background, it's helpful to read the first chapter in his first book (or revised edition of that same book), "Medical Medium". Of course, they are all sold on Amazon.com. Reading that chapter should alleviate any reservations about his background and where his information comes from. Most of his books do have recipes in them, so they are helpful. The recipes are not your typical vegan recipes. They are designed to help the body heal by omitting specific troublemaker foods. Depending upon your usual food habits, they can take some getting used to (I say this from first-hand experience). BUT, it's well worth it in the long run. His methods help get to the bottom line of what is ailing a person. That particular book (Cleanse to Heal) details a variety of specific cleanses one can choose from to start their healing journey. You can pick what you think would be right for you, and there is some leeway in most of them so you can customize it for yourself. ALSO, AND THIS MAY BE VERY HELPFUL TO YOU...check out his website...medicalmedium.com His website is LOADED with recipes, blog articles, videos, podcasts, just all sorts of helpful information, all free of charge and waiting for anyone to come browse, read, listen, print out, and learn from. AND his books have been stocked at many libraries. So, it may be helpful to contact your local library and see if they have any of his books. Browsing them first (before buying, if you choose to buy) may be time well spent.
      Regarding juicing...you CAN juice with a blender, but it's a "pain in the neck" kind of process. The celery juice (especially) MUST be run through a nut milk bag to get the pulp out. This is ESPECIALLY true if you get into juicing celery. It has fabulous medicinal properties AS LONG AS the pulp is removed. Leaving the pulp in the celery juice negates the medicinal properties of the juice. Just chewing on celery sticks won't do the trick either. Although celery has valuable health benefits, the true medicinal benefits won't happen if the pulp is left in the juice, unfortunately. Other juices don't need to be strained like celery juice does. Blending is great, but doing that with the volume of produce you may be opting to juice would be tedious. The stomach may not be big enough to accommodate all the produce once it is blended and not strained. Not trying to turn you off, nor sell you a juicer, but blending is blending, and juicing is juicing. Two different processed and they can't always be interchanged.
      I've been juicing for years now and I have a video about how juicing actually saved all my teeth. I'm not joking! This is a true story... th-cam.com/video/0t-aor1Bjw4/w-d-xo.html It's almost unbelievable, but very true. I now have two juicers, a Tribest Slowstar vertical juicer, and a Sana 727 horizontal juicer. I don't suggest you buy a juicer on my recommendation. If you want to buy a juicer, it's best to investigate them yourself to determine which one would be best for you, based on your kitchen space, personal budget, what you intend to juice, etc. Everyone's needs are different. John Kohler with DiscountJuicers.com has a LOT of videos on TH-cam where he demonstrates a variety of juicers. He often compares juicers in a "juice-off" to see which one performs better. I watched a LOT of his videos before deciding on which juicer to buy. He sells them from his website, DiscountJuicers.com, although they can be purchased elsewhere also. I bought my juicers from him and I can say he's a "good guy" and will give the best customer service that he can. The juicers can be purchased elsewhere too, but I do suggest you explore his videos before buying any juicer at all. John is an honest guy and does his best in all of his endeavors. [Note, I do not know John personally, nor do I have any business connections with him other than having purchased my juicers from him.] You asked if I have a brand of juicer that I like...well, I really like both of my juicers. If I had to choose one over the other, I'd say I prefer the Sana 727 simply because it's a horizontal juicer rather than vertical. The horizontal style is "less particular" about the cut of vegetables placed in it, which makes it a little easier to deal with. Both have served me extremely well and I wouldn't trade them for anything :)
      I KNOW this response is long, and I'm sorry for that! But, I aim to help and sometimes my wordiness is necessary to get the point across and give the info I believe will truly help someone. Feel free to ask more questions if needed. Have a wonderful day, and a very happy Thanksgiving tomorrow :)

    • @JudiintheKitchen
      @JudiintheKitchen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Navets Ciskela! That's an EXCELLENT question and one that I'm pondering over a bit before answering. Honestly, I can't say that I've changed anything in particular that has made a noticeable difference with my eyes other than taking DHA/EPA directly in the algal supplements. I DO also take evening primrose oil for my skin because I have a strong tendency toward dry skin. One capsule during the summer months and double that in the dryer, winter months. However, I have not noticed a direct difference in my eyes with that. You may be getting enough omega 3 fats in all that tuna that you eat. However, I can't say for sure, but you may not be a good "converter" of it into the essential components that can help your eyes...DHA and EPA. There is some preformed DHA and EPA in tuna, but it varies (see this article www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4675452/). Like us, fish also have variable amounts of those compounds in their bodies. I agree that we should strive to meet our nutritional needs through foods! But when we have issues that can be corrected by treating the bottom line of a problem, I think it's a great way to tackle the problem if needs can't be met through diet alone. Our bodies take omega-3 fat (ALA) and convert a small percentage to EPA and DHA (see also this article ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Omega3FattyAcids-Consumer/). Some people convert better than others. Apparently I'm not a good converter. That's why the direct supplement, especially from algal form (which is preformed DHA and EPA) has been so helpful to me. That's the source where fish get most of their EPA and DHA from! I'm not a physician, nor do I pretend to be, so all this is coming from my education (MS in Nutrition), and personal experience. Your physician may be able to guide you more with your personal situation. Nevertheless, I DO hope this helps. Thank you for watching and asking. Best wishes to you :)

      Oh I really feel for you in your situation. I understand. Please see if you can try the algae-based EPA/DHA supplements (see links in the description box). Another thing to check is your diet to be sure you're getting plenty of beta-carotene-rich fruits and vegetables. Just look for color in those foods...rich greens, oranges, reds and yellows. Leafy greens, carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes...foods like that. Between the two it will hopefully help you out. Do keep in touch. If I can help you in any way, I certainly will! You should see a dry eye specialist. The average ophthalmologist is probably not going to be a good choice, since they will probably just check for corneal damage and suggest a steroid. This will not treat the cause and at age 16, it is clearly a result of some form of damage, dysfunction or disease.

      Have you seen a good eye doctor? I was taking hyaluronic acid drops for mine as part of my allergy meds, not realising there was a proper eye problem until I couldn't actually see. You need different treatment depending on what the cause is. My eyes were producing tears but they were evaporating away because the eyelid was not producing the lipid layer Judi mentions. The result was that my eyelid was actually scratching the surface of my eye, so much so the doc could not see through it like they should be able to. Please do go and see a medic. I'm on cortisone, gel drops, hot compresses 3x a day, and eyelid scrubs, and have been told to eat more fish and walnuts, as well as him now recommending omega 3/6 supplements. I was terrified the damage was irreversible but thankfully my vision has returned. I hope you get better.

      Mi Marco! Thanks for watching and sharing! I'm sorry to hear about all your compounded issues. Hopefully the omega-3 DHA/EPA will help. Honestly, I don't recommend any one brand over another. I've used a variety of brands and have had just as good results with any brand, as long as I consistently take the supplement, regardless of brand. Personally, I let price be my guideline, while at the same time checking out dosages, trying to get the most for my money. Here's a brand I have used a number of times (again, there are others out there that are just as fine)... www.amazon.com/Vegan-Omega-Supplement-Support-Softgels/dp/B074N5JZK8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=zenwise+vegan+epa%2Fdha&qid=1624888824&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzQ0hGVlNWSlpXQ01PJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDU5MjQ0RkxOTlI0VkpaQ1Q3JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAyMTgzMDAzRU4wVkdISkY5WVJNJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== I hope this helps! I found that years of built up toxins in the body it’s difficult for any supplement to absorb fully. While this may work for dry eye (and I’m going to try it), get your body cleaned out first with a colon cleanse and a liver flush. I’ve found Penny Kelly has the most practical methods. Then maybe and the stuff you have bought in the past may actually work as claimed.

    I have dry eye because I have two autoimmune diseases one being the main one Sjogren's and the other one is Hashimoto's. And I suffer so bad with dry eye. If it's a windy day even wearing sunglasses it's horrible and right now it's winter and part of my house is heated by electric baseboard or the other part is forced air I think that's causing a lot of problems for me but you got to be warm right? And being in a Dusty room is horrible so many things that the list could go on and on forever.
    But I use all kinds of eye drops mostly it's the basic ones that cost an arm and a leg anywhere from $17 to $25 they're just over-the-counter eye drops sometimes I have to use them a few times a day sometimes every hour I go through two or three of them. And the thing is I wear contacts because I was wearing glasses but anytime I would drive I would have to close one eye which is my left eye and order to be able to drive and that was kind of dangerous so my eye doctor gave me low vision contacts which okay they were kind of helpful but I thought if I'm going to work contacts why don't I just get regular contacts and then I had to get bifocal contacts because I'm older and on this last visit this eye doctor didn't really seem interested in helping me and I've even gone to a dry eye clinic and that eye doctor could have really cared love and I don't know where these doctors get their degrees but they're not very good helpful or kind. But I would like some kind of help because when I wake up in the morning my left eye especially just hurts so bad I have to put drops in it even before I turn on my coffee pot and I have to keep putting drops in it until I'm fully awake and then I have to go take a shower and then I can put a contact lens in my left eye and it kind of takes me awhile to get going it's horrible I really put up with a lot maybe it's cuz of the house I live in I don't know there's so many different things I would really have to talk to a specialist who cares. But I'm wondering if anybody else has the same problems

    • @JudiintheKitchen
      @JudiintheKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Indigo Wolf! Thanks for watching and sharing your story. From reading what you shared, I truly believe the omega 3 DHA/EPA supplement may help. It's certainly worth a try and that supplement should do no harm to your body. Yes, winter air is very dry and will aggravate our eye problems. If you don't have a humidifier, you could put a pot of water on the stove. Keep it simmering all the time while you're home. Of course, it has to be monitored so it doesn't go dry. Never leave it turned on when you're away from the house or sleeping at night...that would be way too dangerous (if the pot should run out of water while still on a hot burner). I agree, most eye doctors don't know how to treat the cause of the problem, just the symptoms. It's not their fault, just how they were trained. Do try the DHA/EPA supplements. They may help. Blessings to you and yours :)

      @ indigowolf, Hi sounds painful. I have similar problem (thankfully not as bad) and i didnt connect it to my hashimoto's issue until you mentioned yours.
      I use the regular contact solution optifree but whatever brand works for u, to regularly use in the eye to refresh it. It has helped a lot with the itchiness and dryness and its less expensive too.
      Once or twice a day depending on the need i will put rosewater in my eye directly. Its a bit uncomfortable but afterwards my eyes improve tremendously. The redness, itchiness and grittiness subsides.
      The third thing that helps is teabags. Since i drink a lot of black tea i use those used tea bags, just chill used bag in the fridge and put them on ure eyes as a compress for as slong as u want. Recently saw someone do a warm compress with the tea bags and tried that too. So see which helps u more or alternate like i do.
      You should look into anti inflammatory diet and see if incorporating those foods help alleviate some symptoms but that will show after months but be more long lasting.
      Wish you best of luck and hope you find a remedy that works.
      Oh yeah my sister was allergic to baush and lomb and that made her eyes super bad esp since she has other sensitives. U might want to try diff solutions to see if one suits u more than the other. Its not only about outside moisture its also about your body's own moisture retention properties.
      Sorry for such a long essay!! Haha🤣

    I once read a forum where the remedy for dry eyes was the rub one eyelid against the other. The way you do this is try to pinch down your lids with thumb and forefinger, pull away from eyeball, and slowly move ghe finger against the thumb. Apparently this helps get the grit out of the ducts and cures the dry eye. Be careful not to rub to hard on the eyeball itself

      If you tear ducts are clogged, this kind of thing might help. For a lot of people the ducts continue clogging. For them, the relief is temporary. The blinking may not matter, but the idea is to loosen and melt any blockage. Keep at it for 5-10 minutes Episodes that lasted for days or weeks seem to be over in a day or less. @@Queef_Storm Sure! My eyes are fine with no issues to speak of. I continue to take my vegan omega-3 capsules daily (2 per day, as per the instructions on the bottle). The omega-3's were apparently the bottom line for me. Based on my training and personal research, if they don't address the problem, it's possible there is a vitamin A deficiency. In that case, it's VERY wise to start eating more beta-carotene-rich foods, such as pumpkin, winter squash, carrots, kale and other leafy greens, mangoes...any and all foods that are high in beta-carotene. It is NOT wise to take beta-carotene supplements, because they can be harmful to some people (primarily smokers). I was told I had very dry eyes Doctor told gave me drops and told me to use a heated pad lon them. I just thought I wonder if I took omega 3fish oil tablets myself. I couldn't believe the difference, but funny the Doctor did not suggest it

      Agreed. Some eye doctors suggest the omega 3 oils, some don't. The warm compress seems to be a standard protocol. However, it often does not work because that's not addressing the real problem (in many cases). The warm compress only works if there are clogged ducts. I'm glad the omega 3 oils worked for you! Thank you for watching and sharing your experience :) Best wishes to you and yours :)

    Thank you.! Just what i was hoping for...and i had reduced my omega 3 recently...makes sense...moisture drops do not really help or solve the issue.
    Maybe that is why castor oil has been recommended for eye health. Drugs are not the best.

      Hi Henry! Thanks for watching and asking. Actually I've used different brands and truly didn't notice much difference, if any. They all helped. This is the brand I usually gravitate toward, although I really think any should help. [I have no financial affiliation with any of the brands...I recommend based on personal experience, not financial incentives] ... www.amazon.com/Vegan-Omega-Supplement-Support-Softgels/dp/B074N5JZK8/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=zenwise+epa+dha+supplement&qid=1619699627&sr=8-5 I hope this helps! @@JudiintheKitchen Hi Judy, what a great video. This dry eye issue tends to be worse with post menopausal women. Also since Covid 19 lock downs people are home and on the computer a lot more and computer eye strain and staring at the screen without blinking adds tot he problem. I bagan havingthis problem about two years ago. My eyes ache and feel like Ihave sand in them. My vision can get very blurry. I was doing research two years ago ad came across this remedy that I hope you don't mind me sharing. Are you ready? It was recommended to put 1-2 drops of castor oil in each eye before bed. Not just any castor oil. It has to be Organic, Cold Pressed and Hexane Free. Get a small eye dropper bottle with a glass dropper and boil the bottle and the glass dropper to make sure it's sterile. Fill it with your castor oil and put it in your bathroom. Put the drops in before bed. Your vision will get very blurry because the oil is thick but it clears up in about twenty minutes. If some seeps out onto your lids just rub the oil all over upper and lower lids. As an dded benefit your wrinkles will disappear along with the dry eye. I did this for about two weeks about two years ago. My dry eye disappeared within two days.My dry eye did not return until about two weeks ago. I started the drops again two days ago and my eyes feel much better today. I plan on getting your supplements to add to this regimen. This is the link to the Castor oil i bought. By the way it says on the bottle to avoid contact with eyes. Ignore it. It's totally safe. www.amazon.com/Heritage-Store-Organic-Castor-Ounce/dp/B0013YYNDM.

      Hi Victor! Please check the description box below the video. I have a number of links there to EPA/DHA supplements that you can buy on Amazon. I have taken a variety of different brands and have found equal benefits no matter what brand I've taken. Also, I follow the recommended dosage on the label. I usually let price be my guide. If it matters to you, the one brand I've taken more than other is the ZenWise brand, which is the 6th link down from the top. Thanks for watching! Best wishes to you :)

      Hi Rita! Thank you for watching and asking! Zeaxanthin and lutein are very healthful compounds that we often get from fresh fruits and vegetables. They will do you no harm and can only be healthful, as far as I'm concerned. So, do consider those capsules to be safe to take. Hopefully they will help you as much as they helped me. Keep me posted! Blessings to you and yours :)

      @@ritaa7094 Hi Rita, I can't say how long to take the supplements. I have not stopped taking them, and I consider it to be a forever-endeavor because our bodies need the omega 3 fats. If we don't get enough from our foods, then the supplements are called for. And that's a need for life. So...you could try to include more omega-3-containing foods in your diet (and then you may not need the supplements), or you could take supplements for life. The choice is yours! Best wishes to you and yours :)

    • @JudiintheKitchen
      @JudiintheKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The links are in the description box just below the video. Click the "see more" option and the box will expand. Yellow eyes MAY be a sign of jaundice, which indicates a liver problem. Red eyes all the time may also indicate liver issues. I can't say for sure, so it may be time to visit your healthcare provider and get checked out. A couple blood tests can say a lot. Best wishes to you! Thanks for watching :)
