Einer von den alten Filmen, die ich schon als Kind mir gerne anschaute. Und all die Gefühle von Damals kommen zurück. Lang ist das her. Ich bin total wehmütig.....😢
Jamaica Inn still stands, it was built in 1750. Of course they likely built a set for the film though, maybe based on the original? But on the other hand, there are a lot of old Coaching Inns around still standing, and some are much older so it's a bit of a generic look.
This entire movie kept me on the edge... Directing, acting, and sceen play writing was all gritty, grimmy and great!.... But why is it the villains make the BEST crazy characters!
Love love love the movie ❤❤❤ but I must comment on the amazing ability of the ship to turn so quickly 😮 Especially in a storm like 🔱 Looks like a kid playing with his boat on the 🛁😅
I have this DVD, Dollar Store. My desert island movie!! Maureen O'Haras' first movie. TREASURE ISLAND STAR, Robert Newman as the peg legged Captain John Silver. One of the most highly acclaimed performances in movies - that and his BILL SYKES, in OLIVER. Can anything be done about the audio, please? Great upload CULT CLASSICS CINEMA ❗❗❗
Such an old movie made me feel a bit depressed but then again I was reading Wuthering Heights when I was 18. I am greek. 1.27.49 The moment I finished writing I am Greek, Cedric said " Thd islands of Greece ". These coincidences happen too often . As for Cedric his impeccable acting has left me speechless.
I had a huge fight with our librarian when I was about 11 because she didn't want me to take out Wuthering Heights. I argued that I'd finished Edgar Allan Poe the week before so I figured I'd be fine. Wuthering Heights is an AMAZING read... the film never quite did the bleakness of it for me. 👍🇮🇪

Very nice to see the version that hasn't been ruined by colourising.
Yes. Thank God! Colourising is an assault on art.
Amen to that!

I'm with you on the colour, but the upgrading, smoothing, changing frame rate and enhancing make this unwatchable for me.
@@brandosbucket It's like a sweetened food.
Love this movie! You can never get too many of Alfred Hitchcock movies 😊
I like these too. A lot of good flicks from 1939 it seems. This one, Gone With the Wind; Wizard of Oz; ect.
@@peterpagliaro1835
Not the WOZ with Judy GARLAND?
Hitchcock had nothing to do with that WOZ.
Ms. O'Hara was so charming!

One of my favourite Sir Charles Laughton movie
CHARLES LAUGHTON - THE GREATEST PRODUCT, THE ROYAL ACADEMY of DRAMATIC ART, at LONDON EVER PRODUCED …
Gosh he embodies every ounce of his characters. He just eats up the camera with his presence.
Hear, hear! I'm totally captivated by him. I'd say one of the three top actors ever, together with Olivier.
I'd agree with that. Great actors back then in general
One of the biggest perverts in the movie industry.
Good old movie... I love the old inn building used in this movie. But I heard it was torn down long ago.

Charles Laughton is insane!! I love him! And his eyebrows!

The Big Clock is an underrated movie with Charles Laughton worth checking out
The Big Clock is good but not one of my favs. Glad you do because that's what makes movies!!

Charles Laughton was a tremendous actor. There was no style or no character he couldn't handle with aplomb.

At 10:00, Laughton actually pronounces "maraschino" correctly, Most people don't.

Orribile ridoppiaggio, meglio "ascoltarlo" in originale con i sottotitoli. Ma non è disponibile il primo doppiaggio?

Clasica
The movie starts but then switches to "The Fat Man". Technical glitch.
Does anyone think that Hitchcock wanted 3 yellow "C"s & 4 yellow dots in the top right corner of his black & white movie? For the entire movie.
