Thank you again Ruth for sharing Nigel with us. He has such a tender spirit and really makes us feel good about the Lord.
Fabulous podcast and loved your yarn choices and opinions. Special Thanks to Nigel for giving us all hope. ❤❤❤❤❤
The work you do to make this podcast available for us to watch and enjoy is wonderful, so when someone sends a gift I love that you share it with us. And I love that you are careful and thoughtful with your purchases and really hope you can sweep away those negative comments and completely disregard them. I’ll never understand why people feel the need to complain or criticize. I’m sure it is often hurtful. Ignore it and focus on the positives and those of us who love your makes and your good words and works at the end and just keep on keeping on. Happy knitting.
Thank you x
Thank you Ruth for a lovely podcast. Thank you Nigel for your mini sermon. God bless you and your family.🙏
Hi Ruth, Thank you for another fun and inspiring podcast. Eva is rocking her sweater! 🙌 I always enjoy seeing yarn acquisitions. We should not have to defend our yarn stash. Thanks to Nigel for his encouraging devotional. As you said, I was looking down at my knitting as he talked. 😉 Thanks again and God bless you & your family. Knit On 🧶💖
Wonderful hearing the exhortations from your husband! God is gracious. Loved hearing from you, Ruth! I am thankful for my knitting and sewing now that my kids are grown and the house is so much quieter. I always enjoy your sweet spirit. Blessings!
Thank you soo much Ruth and Nigel your both amazing and it was so nice to hear God's word from Nigel. I think its lovely that you have added God's word with your podcast. So many times we get caught up with life that we need a reminder. It gave me some quiet time to work in my Simon Shawl and to hear God's word. Bless you both!☺
As ever, a joy to have your podcast keep me company while I knit :) thanks Ruth!
Thank you for a lovely podcast! It was especially comforting to hear Nigel speak. I have a friend going through unspeakable tragedy right now and the only offering I can give her to support her is my prayers.
I love your podcast and seeing all your beautiful projects and beautiful wool I wish people wouldn’t leave negative comments when folks have spent time and energy making entertainment for us. I can’t understand why people just don’t scroll past or switch off! Life’s too short and we should always make the best of things and just enjoy our hobbies and obsessions x thank you Ruth and Nigel.
Thank you for another lovely podcast Ruth - always so much fun. I can’t actually believe how anyone can feel the need to leave any negative comments - but don’t be discouraged - please just keep on doing what you do. You’re so kind & generous, full of fun & such a talented knitter. I love watching every bit of your podcasts xx
Thanks Ruth for another fun podcast. It was lovely to listen to Nigel again. I do hope that Eva is able to find something that makes her happy. You don’t need to justify what you spend on your hobby, you are so generous and deserve any gifts that you receive. I always say if you don’t like watching something just turn it off and the same if you receive a comment or email that is not kind just push delete. 💛
The socks for your daughter are beautiful! And all your knitting and yarn is so pretty! The Canadian Post Offices were on strike from Nov 15 to Dec. 17 and when they finally went back to work there was such a back log of mail that even the US weren't sending any mail to us across the border. So that could be why your parcel wasn't showing up. Thank you Nigel for a lovely message. I really needed that this evening after a bad week at work. I hope you do more messages as I find your voice very comforting.
Ruth, I so needed and enjoyed the encouragement of God's Word from Mr. Nigel. Whatever you are going through, may the Lord comfort and strengthen you. By the way, you are a very cute couple!
Thank you, Nigel, for the reminder. Ruth, I don't know why some people feel compelled to criticize others, but many people, including me, like you just the way you are.
Thank you, Nigel!
Hi Ruth, a lovely podcast, no knitting police here either. Hope you have a blessed weekend. Oh my! I love liquorice all sorts too. Hugs ❤❤❤
Loving your makes, Ruth. Eva's jumper is so beautiful!
That licorice brought back sweet memories those were my moms favorite 😊 and just love that yarn to match thank you
Lovely knits. Can't believe someone has made negative comments. Let's just wish them well and keep on knitting. Take Care.
Thank you Ruth and Nigel for sharing God’s love with others. This is a message the world so desperately needs to hear. God love you! ❤
Oh Ruth you are just too sweet and I have to tell you my husband loves that licorice mix. Here in the US we call it Night and Day.. I had to show him what you were gifted.
My partner has slim ankles and a size 10.5/11 foot. I often put 1x1 rib down the back of the leg and then carry on into the slip stitch heel flap - this works beautifully!
Great podcast Ruth. I can't I agile having so much on my needles at the same time. I think 2 is enough for me😂. What super gifts you received and enjoy all the sweeties. It would,d be lovely to meet you so eti e you Come home for a little longer. I've never been to hanks wool parlour so must give it a try. Thank Nigel for a lovely message. Even if we know it it's good to be reminded of God's wonderful love which passes all understanding. Look forward to the next one. God Bless.❤
Please don’t apologise for enjoying your craft, I love sharing your hobby and seeing your makes and your beautiful yarn. There are a lot worse things to spend money on, you are a lovely woman . No need to feel bad. Some people make my blood boil. 🫢❤xx
Thanks Ruth & Nigel for a great episode. Love Eva's jumper, beautiful colour. Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
Oh what a lovely afternoon, Knitting, tea and a new podcast from Ruth. No echo's, love all your knitting, trying very hard not to be envious of your wonderful gifts. Special thanks to Nigel, he did so well, what a lovely calming manner he has.❤
Your daughter's sweater is lovely!
Thank you both for your time, thoughts and words. I enjoyed today’s podcast very much.
Ruth, your cheery smile always brightens my day. Nigels words eased my soul. Stay safe and keep knitting.
Lovely as always! This is the first time I’ve had to watch in segments though. I like to watch all the way through! Blessings 😊❤️🙏
Ruth, you are sunshine to my soul 🎉 just love your podcasts. I want to see all the things that you do. Thank you for sharing the Love of Jesus with us and your husband. What a blessing to my day 💕
Beautiful jumper for Eva!
Thank you, Ruth, for another wonderful podcast. I love your positive vibes❤
No echo that I could perceive. Love your sweater!
Yup, change the blue on your Shetland Trader. 😊
Ruth you do such a wonderful job of bringing us all some joy and wisdom while we craft. Please don’t let any negative comments take away your joy. Know you make a difference in so many people’s lives. Thank you and God bless you. Kind regards Helen.
A delightful video about Island Hopping. This island looks interesting. I love Tappas ...... can't wait for your next video
My comment was for another podcast sorry about that Ruth lol
Lovely podcast Ruth ,thank you so much!❤
Thank you to Nigel for his message of hope. I am dealing with a personal tragedy and couldn’t seem to deal with the change but his message came at the perfect time for me. What a great podcast. Lots of fiber goodness . Thank you!
So sorry you are having such a hard time x
So funny, as I watched your podcast I was at the end of a row and I paused it for doing other things…..one of them was looking at a pattern, fair isle and a vest. I really liked and wanted to make.
So when I came back with a coffee and returned to your podcast, you pulled up the same pattern. What are the odds to that🤷🏼♀️
It made me smile.
Love this x
Love everything about your podcasting....from your awesome self...to your coffee mug...I love that you are proud to proclaim Jesus as Lord...
Love your knitting choices...Keep on Keeping on...❤❤
Thank you so much Ruth for another fun podcast. I was feeling sad,i lost my beloved husband 2 years ago and find January hard. But you really cheered me up and then your dear husband started to speak and the tears flowed. But after saying that, his words filled my heart with courage. My knitting brings me so much joy as does my yarn collection. Look forward to seeing you next time and sending love from my home to yours x
❤️❤️
OH MY GOODNESS! I just love Eva’s socks and sweater….beautiful!! Ruth, you work very hard to bring us joy and you share such wonderful patterns and tips….you earn AND deserve any yarn that comes your way - beyond well deserved! Speaking of coveting….I still covet Eva’s hair….it is just such a stunning color and so very pretty on a very pretty young lady! I too, dearly love those licorice candies…I’m not really a chocolate person so bring on black licorice and caramels!
I really enjoy watching your podcasts and enjoy the yarns and all the knitting you share with us. We all have our worries, but we must put one foot in front of the other. My husband passed away a little more than two years ago and I have had a very difficult time and miss him dearly. If not for my knitting, crocheting and teaching, I would not have been able to move forward with my life. I have met many wonderful people and grateful for the time spent with them. Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and until next time!
So sorry for your loss x
I’m so sorry to hear about your husband passing. My husband has been gone for 4 1/2 years and I miss him everyday. I’m so thankful for the comfort and peace I get from the Lord. I will pray that the Lord brings you the comfort you need. I find my knitting and crocheting helps. God bless you.
Hi Ruth. I’m new to your podcast. This is my second time watching. I have enjoyed both podcasts and am already looking forward to the next one. I too am a process knitter. I’m from the United States living in the Midwest. You talk about your faith and love for the Lord. My faith and my family are the most important part of my life. Please don’t let the negativity of some take away your joy. Our joy comes from the Lord. I find joy in my knitting and crocheting also. I feel as though I have made a new friend half way across the world. Thank you for bringing some fun to my life. I pray the Lord blesses you and your family and keeps you safe and healthy. Keep knitting!
Thank you so much x
@@ruthlovestoknitpodcast Thanks to Nigel for his heartfelt and inspiring thoughts.
Thank you Ruth. I have the roosty vest in my que as well. We had a postal strike here in Canada so that is why things were late. It is finally back up and running but there is a back log. I love seeing what people have been gifted or purchased. There are so many beautiful yarns that I don't have access to here in Canada that it is how I learn about them. Thank you again for taking the time to make these videos. They are such a welcomed treat each month.
Hi Ruth, I’m in Metro Vancouver. Funny to hear me referred to as being 'all the way over in Canada.' I always thought it was you who was 'all the way over in England!' 😁
Regina (pronounced Reg-eye-nah) is in the province of SK (Saskatchewan). It’s in the middle of the country on the Canadian Prairie. Lots of wheat grown in that area. This time of year the temps are -10 - -45C.
Thank you for your cheerful podcasts. I’m sorry people choose to say unkind things. You are a blessing to me.
This is the first time I have watched your podcast and I really enjoyed it. I too have a husband with skinny ankles and I wanted to suggest that you rib your cuff, then switch to stockinette. When you get to about 1 inch before the heel, start ribbing only in the back. For me that worked well enough to make his socks snug in just a bit at the ankle. You have a wonderful stash - I loved everything you showed us. Thanks for sharing your time. 💜
I love that vest/tank top you plan to knit. I think you should wear what makes you happy and what you wear with the vest goes a long way towards making a horizontal striped vest look great. 😊
You are very welcome here. Thanks for the tip x
Hi Ruth. So great to see you. Please thank Nigel for his encouraging devotional. I’m excited to see all of that colorwork in your future. ❤
Oh Ruth! I love you and I enjoy knitting along while watching your podcasts. Bring on all the yarn and the projects! It makes me happy and I bet it does for some others too. Thank you to Nigel for his comforting words.
I loved Nigel’s message! “Cast your cares” is one of my favorite passages!
I can’t believe anyone could have anything unkind to comment about. Your videos are always so lovely and informative.❤
Ditto. Can’t imagine anyone being so rude to such a delightful blessing that you are to me and so many
Thank you Ruth and Nigel. I enjoy it when you share your gifts and aquisitions. It is heart warming to see people's kindness.
Love seeing you and your yarns! There are lots of us inspired by seeing what you do with it and are not jealous. No guilt allowed! 😊
Lovely episode. Inspiring as always! ❤
That licorice brought back sweet memories those were my moms favorite 😊 and just love that yarn to match thank you . Thank you Nigel
Eva's sweater is absolutely beautiful! Well done. I am sorry you are getting negative comments. You do not need to justify how you spend your money. We all have choices to make. Enjoy those goodies from Canada! Savour that coffee crisp, they are delightful. (From another Canadian) Thank you and your husband for a wonderful message at the end. That is my favorite part ❤
I savoured it last night. Wish we had them here. Loved it.
So many beautiful knits! Big thanks for sharing to you and Nigel!
Ruth, Hello from Chicago, Illinois! I can’t imagine anyone saying anything negative about you or what you do with your knitting and how you acquire your yarn. Please keep on knitting and letting us have insight into your knitting process.
Hello from Illinois. Happy knitting.
Wonderful podcast!❤
You don’t need to apologise for anything you do. Life is short so enjoy your passion.God Bless you your family
Thanks so much, Ruth, for being here, for sharing your lovely knitting, your lovely yarn, your (and your husband's) endy-bit thoughts--your postings are such a joy. I love your pinky-yellow Spring bulbs yarn! What a pretty garment that is going to make. I haven't knit up my own Whale Road yarn yet, so it's fun to see your knit-up socks. Thanks for sharing so much. God bless you!
I knit with whatever I have. I’ve made things with beautiful hand dyed yarn and beautiful yarn from the discount store. Thanks again for your podcast and to Nigel for his lesson. I had my husband watch both of the lessons. He is our small group leader at church. Wishing you happy stitching. 🧶❤️
Eva’s sweater is amazing. I’m happy that I knit a baby hat last night with a frog on top. That sweater would send me over the edge. I love Eva’s red hair-it’s beautiful and so is she.
Fantastic as always Ruth thank you love everything xx
❤❤perfect snowy morning here,,,to watch your podcast,,,🎉
Thanks Ruth,,,
Love all ur goodies you got in the mail,,,,what treats,,,,
Take care,
Love knitting socks as I watch ,,,
ELAINE 💗🏠
Ruth I so enjoy your podcasts and what a lovely knitting sign gift. I do hope I get to meet you one day at a yarn event and give you a big hug :)
Maybe one day!
You go Ruth! 8-). Knit with whatever you want. This is knitting for goodness sake….some people are just petty! Love the podcast!
Thank you Ruth and Nigel for a great podcast !!
Enjoyed this episode very much. You pronounced Regina correctly….Regiiiina Saskatchewan. Loved to see your knitting plans.
Dan of the Bakery Bears knit a Roostie for Kay. It is a stunning knit. Buy more Yarn to get rid of any echo (which I didn't notice). You really did receive the best of Canadian candy. You will love the coffee crisp. So says a proud Canadian!
Look forward to it x
Thank you Ruth and Nigel - always a blessing sitting in with you! And what a truth proclamed: "He knows"!
Ruth, have you tried the slipknot cast on? It is a stretchy on that might make it easier for putting on a sock. Or cast on 64 stitches for the rib and decreace to 60 for the leg.❤
Yes I have used tgat cast on. He doesnt like the rib so back to normal 60 stitch cast on.
@ruthlovestoknitpodcast Despite the things you do out of love, at that! Keep on, keeping on!
May you be abundantly blessed!
Eva’s jumper is perfect on her and looks fab with her glorious red hair.
What a fabulous sign. That’s brilliant. Oh and the lively bag.
Aren’t Some people so kind and thoughtful 😊.
Oh my days those allsorts are massive. My husband would fight you for those 😂😂.
Thank you Nigel for your words.
Xx
No one gets to touch my allsorts 🤣🤣
@ 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for a lovely podcast!
Hello Ruth, you are such a blessing to everyone who loves watching and seeing what you’re doing. Nigel‘s voice is so soothing and love the word that he gave.
I was awake at 2:30 this morning, sitting on the side of my bed, I thought, I wonder if Mandy (from mouse makes )and Ruth will be having the videos up today.😂
And we did x
I've got a cuppa and knitting on some socks while I join you xxx
I love that you find all the cool sweaters and pieces for people our size. You have such a joyous heart and are a good example of the way GOD loves us. All different and all very special to HIM. Thank you for sharing your light and happiness. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to knit as fast or enthusiastic as you do but I do love your sweetness. Carry on. And it's not that we are yarn snobs, it's that when you put that much work and love into an item you want to use something that is quality and will last so I guess I'm a yarn snob too. Cheers.
Thank you!
Thankyou Ruth 😊
You're always my favorite Ruth!
Love and blessings from this newly graduated midwife and avid knitter (baby podcaster) from New Zealand 😊❤
Congratulations. Hope you enjoy your new career x
Wonderful podcast as usual. Canada had a mail strike for about a month before Christmas.
Thank you for a beautiful podcast Thank Nigel from me for his wise words
I always look forward to seeing you and all your makes are inspiring. Its just fun to spend time with you. Nigel's segment was wonderful again! We always need to be reminded because our thoughts and the world gets in there sometimes.❤
Hope Eva finds her place, such a brave thing to admit 6th form isn't for you, such pressure now to do A level and off to Uni ! I did YTS hairdressing was much happier.
I also use all sorts of yarn price points, lovely hand dyed yarn for my sweater but QD acrylic for my nephew and definitely acrylic for new grandson, he is 11 weeks and already to go into his 3rd size of knits!😊
It is always so nice to spend some time with you and thank Nigel as well for sharing his thoughts. I love all of your new projects. I have knit a couple of Sari Nordlund's designs...they are extremely well written and clear. I think you will enjoy knitting her patterns.
Here you are! I’ve been hoping for your podcast for the last couple of days.
I just finished a Simon shawl . Fun knit for sure. Somehow I ended with 2 extra stitches! Don’t know why but I don’t think it matters.
God bless.
Thank you Nigel
Thank you for a lovely episode, and thank Nigel for a very touching speech at the end, you both are wonderful people !
Your daughter is quite a lucky girl with all those handknits. That sweater turned out wonderful !
I can't wait to see the new knits you've swatched for and got the yarn for. Beautiful colours ! I am not too sure what kobalt blue looks like ( google came up with a variety of shades ), but when in doubt about contrast, I always take a picture and then set that to black and white.
What lovely gifts you've gotten ! Will you tell later on, what that candy tastes like ? The two that were unfamiliar to you ? I've never seen them over here either, and of course now I am curious ;)
I am saving my goodies for a quiet moment x
Lots of inspiration, as usual, thank you 😊. I'm tempted by the Willow sweater, the one for Eva looks very interesting. I have some of the DK from Woolyknit...nice to have the heads-up about it....perhaps I should look for a worsted-weight sweater pattern for which to use it 🤔 😊
Either that or go up a needle size
I am so thankful you kept Nigel’s message. I needed this reminder from God’s word and his message touched a lot of my cares. 🙏 Eva’s sweater is beautiful! I too love magic loop for socks but have decided 9” circulars make colourwork easier. The sound is great. Not echoey at all. 😊
Hello Ruth, I don't hear any echo, happy for your bigger space, makes room for more yarn!
You don't need to justify your purchases. We all make choices in our lives depending on our circumstances and our interests. Some people choose to eat out often or buy new clothes depending on current style or have a wine cellar or attend concerts or professional sporting events. I always say to each his own. Enjoy your hobby!!
Have you ever tried Wensleydale Longwool from the WL shop? It’s beautifully soft with a halo and they do it in 4 ply, dk and Aran. I’ve knitted two jumpers in it now and received lots of compliments. And I’ve bought a shade card 😊. Thank you Ruth for your lovely podcast!
Would love to try it. Maybe a birthday treat.
P.s thank you Nigel for your endy bit ⭐️
Thank you Nigel for the reminder of God’s love for us!
Ruth, I so want to knit the Simon Shawl but the colors I like in my stash are DK and sport. Any suggestions?
Please save some Allsorts for me- better yet- don’t I’m trying to eat more carefully 😉.
Sport would work. Just weigh your yarn before you start.
Thank you both for your time. Beautiful podcast.
Love your daughter's sweater. Really like a sari nordlund patterns i am knitting the Billie sweater at the moment .the porty sweater is lovely 😍
Have the Billie pattern but a bit intimidated by it.
Thank you Ruth I’m not really a sock knitter but you made me smile regards your husbands skinny ankles, I have the opposite situation with my husband he has oedema and his his feet and ankles very swollen and would love to knit him some socks that 1. Would go on and 2. Be able to keep on. 🤔🙏
That sounds horrible for him.
