Thanks!
I literally watch every single one of your videos and was delighted to see your sweatshirt! I audibly screamed. Thank you for rocking your BPM merch and another fantastic episode! 💖💕💗
😱😱😱 Ahh! Thank you! I love it!
Chelsea, you did so well matching up the lines in that dress top!
“….my serger is named Roy…because he’s difficult”😂😂😂😂
Thank you!
My grandma thought that was funny too. 😂
Congratulations on 3000+ subscribers!!!🎉. I enjoy your podcasts, you are a lovely person.😊
Thank you so much!
Hi friend, I totally agreed about paying for a skein of yarn but not willing to pay the same amount for fabric.
About suggestions for a special podcast, I will love to see one with your most wearable sweaters or maybe wearable is not not the right choice of word but the ones you like the most and reach out more often and why. Like if it’s the fit, the yarn used or both.
Thanks for sharing with us all your projects, and acquisitions always love that portion of the podcast.
Thanks for the suggestion! I love the acquisition part of other podcasts too!
Another great episode ❤!
Thank you!
Just found your channel! Love your makes - looking forward to watching more 😍
Thank you!
I may have just bought that cute sweatshirt too! Love it!
Yay!
I will miss seeing you weekly, but completely understand the need to slow down and do what’s best for you personally. It just means I’ll be even MORE excited when you post! 🤗
I wonder if using a sweater shaver would help with the linen “dog hairs” on your new Lento. 😊
That pink would be sooo fun for the test knit!
Thank you! Hmm, not sure the shaver would help but I could try it.
A lovely podcast but would really love to see your finished sweaters on you while you’re talking about them, please! 😊 It’s so nice to see how they look on!
Thanks for sharing your love of knitting.
Hey! Fellow February birthday friend!😂
Yay, it’s the best month for a birthday!
“It’s still got poo in it!” This might be a sentence you could have said in your medical training, but on your knitting podcast. Hilarious! This made my day. 🥰
Hahaha
i saw your photo of the syd dress on instagram - it looks awesome! i've seen emily on the botanical knitter make this dress before and it looks really nice.
Thank you!
I’m processing my first fleece this month! I don’t know what I’m doing though. Will be researching soon
Yay! Hope it goes well!
Fun episode. Thank you for being here! You might like Tiny Desk Knitting with Emma. She talks about processing fleece but she is also a marathon runner. She's also an affiliate with Wooly Thistle. All things you like.
Ooo, I’ll have to check out her podcast!
I’d love to see your favorite sweaters, why you love them, and one or two outfits for each- could be all in one episode or one sweater featured per episode and spread it out over time.
I have found an every other week works well for my video uploads too. It’s like a whole separate hobby from knitting and crochet!
The sheep breeds shirt is fab!
It is a separate hobby!
Llama is very soft. I knit a Ranunculus out of a Llama yarn. It’s so soft. Fiber Love Diary on TH-cam has some videos on processing wool.
I understand what you mean by giving it some time and seeing if it changes your perspective. That’s why I have a motto “ no scissors after midnight”.
Haha, I love that. I also have a rule that if I have more than a glass of wine, I should only do stockinette.
Check out the Double Knit Scarf from Hello Hygge Life for your Cardiff Cashmere….it is a lovely pattern and that yarn is perfect for it. I plan to make several for gift knits.
Thanks for the suggestion!
You can use dawn dish soap to wash your fleece. But in the meantime, put some lavender or cedar in the bag and seal the bag. You don’t want any flying visitors (I got them in a dirty fleece I was given a few years ago before I could get it washed).
Yikes! I have the bag hanging out in my garage right now but I’m going to start washing it this week.
Don't forget to rewash all fabrics before you sew with them 👍💙
Yep, I always do that first. It’s as annoying as swatching. 😂
@sundayknittingsociety7245 Yeah, I hadn't thought about that comparison. Lol
FiberLoveDiary has lots of videos for washing fleece wool and camelids and also MellyKnits Day 13 of her Advent Lore 2024 she talks about her process of washing alpaca which should work the same for llama. I have heard you have to dehair it, but i haven't worked with llama myself yet.
Thank you. Dehair-ing sounds fun 🤦🏼♀️
@@sundayknittingsociety7245 i know, right!?! I have a giant contractor garbage bag full of llama someone gave me last spring, but I couldn't bring myself to tackle it then, this spring/summer it's gonna happen!!
When I knit long-sleeved sweaters, the sleeves are always longer than the body because of my freakish proportions. I remember male co-workers looking at my suit jacket hanging in my cubicle, and laughing about the sleeves being longer than the body.
The loop on the back of your bodice is caused when you start to sew without holding the two threads as you put the needle in the fabric. The bobbin thread gets bunched and knotted up. Just pick out the inch or so of bunching, pull your needle thread and bobbin thread to the right, place your fabric under the needle, turn the wheel to put the needle down in the fabric, hold the two threads and take the first couple of stitches. Cheap fabric might result in a poorer project, in spite of expert sewing skills. (Wisdom of a 60-years plus sewist.) You can buy a sticker that has lines marked at 1/4" increments that you stick on your sewing machine that you use as a guide to keep something you're sewing lined up evenly along a long seam.
Thanks for the advice. I did actually have both of my threads in the correct position when I started. I used to have a big problem with one of my threads getting pulled out of place so I hold them in place by habit now.
Hi regarding your fleece I do not know anything about it but if you watch Taylor E Owen podcast she knows all about it. I’m sure she can help you. Love your sweaters.
Thank you! I’ll check it out.
Take care to de hair as much of the llama fleece as you can. You will be happy you spent the time as it can be quite prickly.
You’re the second person who has mentioned de-hairing. I haven’t looked it up but it doesn’t sounds fun. 😂
@@sundayknittingsociety7245it will be the main key to you spinning a successful yarn that you will want to knit with and wear next to skin. Good luck! Love and look forward to your podcasts!
I need to know your secret for shipping from garntopia. Mine starts at 40
Dang. I don’t know if there’s a secret. Maybe I’m converting the currency wrong.
Nope, I was converting the currency incorrectly. It was about $34. Glad I didn’t know that when I was ordering it. 😂
@@sundayknittingsociety7245I still order but make sure when I do I am getting more than enough savings to cover shipping. Rauma and sandnes garn and Cardiff are all so much more expensive here that it is still cheaper even with that shipping
Very true!
All research and my granola crafting buddies that spin raw all say unicorn scour works best.
Be careful bringing unprocessed wool into your stash area. It can contain eggs from various pests and you don’t want to contaminate your stash. Put the bag in the back of your car to bake (if it’s hot out) to kill the pests. Then wash quickly.
Yikes, good to know!
Hi! Regarding your Bergman pullover: I would say, ignore the pattern decreases on the sleeves and just make it conform to your body. I am saying this from the perspective of someone who is finishing what is essentially a 4 sleeve sweater! No, I’ve not grown extra limbs but….the first sleeve was too tight so I left it with the thought that I would make the second one be bigger and then just reknit the one I didn’t care for. Well, the second sleeve was way too big. Reknit the 2nd sleeve to make it narrower and now have to knit the original sleeve to match. I tried to convince myself that it would be OK if they were slightly different. No, it was NOT OK! So, we have four sleeves! Just fix it now before you have to do 59thousand sleeves! It won’t be OK!!! Your yoke is, however, spectacular! 🤗
Haha, hopefully I don’t have to re-knit the sleeve that many times. I might just burn it if that happens.
@ After hearing that your sweater might just get burned, I told my sweater that it should be very grateful she is living in my house! 😂 I finished the 4th sleeve and tried it on last night. OMG! Both sleeves are too short now for my “extra” long arms. Unbelievable. Now to rip a bit and add extra length. It is like a toddler whose only saving grace when they are naughty is that are so cute! 🤣
Oh no!!! 5th times the charm???
@ I suppose so!! I hope it is not too bad of a reflection on my character, but I may take a bit of pleasure stomping on the towel I will have it wrapped up in after I wash it and get it ready to block! 🤪
😂😂😂 At least you aren’t burning it.
