Having seen so many tabla solo presentations, I must say hearing Santoor being used as lehera is simply mind blowing. I don’t think I’ve seen this instrument used as lehera sath in the past!!!

His bayaan speaks a language which is seldom witnessed. The Santoor brings an open air quality to the performance. I have seen many of his performance and it’s not too complicated Peshkaar/kaayda wise, just the sound of bol and playing style is worth appreciating
This is Tari Khan's best performance of the career and the credit goes to Anindoo Chatterjee whose presence set a challenge for Tari. Never heard Tari playing with such a dazzling skill and ease. Everything seems to natural.
The dynamics in the hall were perfect and the appreciation from the audience as well as Anindo Ji who was sitting in the front row along with a host of other great Tabla players and musicians made the evening an amazing one and brought out the best in Ustad ji. It was an experience to be cherished for a lifetime. The video can only do 50% justice to the actual moment in time but you are right, I have not heard Tariji like this ever before. Thank you for your appreciation.

Kamaljeet Ahluwalia's accompaniment was top-notch. Not an easy task with a rhythm master like Tari, who is able to mess with the most complex patterns and stay musical for 2 hours on end. I love Kamaljeet's reaction at the beginning when the first Bayan strokes kick in. You can feel the energy.

Ustad Tari Khan is one of the best no doubt, however to accompany him in such an amazing task Kamaljeet Kaur has done a marvelous job to accomplish such a difficult task without missing a beat or a tune I must say. Job well done duo. Actually, she is also an amazing artist and used to learned audience for she plays with her husband Jas Ahluwalia on a regular basis.

Wow! Pure magic! Ustadji is the most versatile tabla player in the world! He effortlessly plays classical, accompaniment, solo, and light classical and makes them sound on an another level. The sound created by his tabla is so crisp yet heart touching, it is incredible! He is an absolute genius!

TariJi is almost a legend by his own skills. So this show would be impeccable, I had no doubts. But that said, I am really impressed by the nagma skills of this young lady. Keeping up with with Tariji when he does his cannon balls of layakari fractions is no easy feat by any means. She for sure did a wonderful job on that front.

What should be the exact presentation of a Raga in a concert.......
1. Presentation of Raga 'Yaman' on Dhrupad form
2. Second presentation on same Raga in North Indian style
3. Third presentation of same Raga with Ustad Tari Khan and Santoor Mestro Miss Kamaljeet....
4. Forth presentation of same Raga in Kathak Dance format
And finally all the audience must Dance with the Music.......
Is it possible?
Actually this is the procedure of flowing of our Holy Rivers like Narmada,Yamuna or Satluj....... A fisherman spent his whole life on the bank of River and told me about this.
What a great coincident , while listening Shri Tari Khan ji, I feel the inspiration to write here.

As per the situation going on in Pakistan and in between India And Pakistan I have got to show something. Regardless the game of "Divide And Rule" goes on for decades, we have a small army of artists up there on the canvas by themselves fully equipped busy in painting the picture of true love and eternal relationship.
No "Divide And Rule" yet to be together. No gender distinction, Tabla Maestro Tari Khan 🙏 from Pakistan Describes the most difficult rhythmic patterns while a young Lady Kamaljeet from India accompanies by playing a Lehra Of 16 Beats on santoor.
This is not less than a miracle when these artists have been having a catch up at Tabla Festival arranged by Indian music lovers and promoters. Meanwhile in Pakistan the music industry is almost destroyed. A few who are still resisting are the greats. Abdul Sattar Tari is one of those who played an unforgettable role in this regard and still working on music art. He is disciple of Mian Shoukat Hussain of Punjab Gharana of music. His Tabla Sounds so melodies and rhythmic and people know him for his unique style and beautiful facial expressions. The stage he is playing on is not an ordinary stage. The well known rhythmists and musicians are present there including Pt. Anando Chatar Jee🙏 from India, who is known as the God Of Tabla Art later comes up on the stage and hugs and kisses the Maestro Tari Khan. Tari Khan doesn't only plays the Punjab Gharana, he also presents the blends of Lahore which he is so blended in. The texture and melodiousness of his Baaj is matchless. He has got a lot of critics mostly criticising his personal life. Look at the performance right here and decide how is it......

Playing lehra for a legend like Ustad Tari khan ji is a mammoth challenge in the first place, let alone playing it on an instrument like santoor!
I feel playing lehra on santoor is harder than playing it over harmonium or sarangi since santoor doesn't have a sustain like the other two instruments. So not only does one have to account for time from sam to sam but also the gaps between each matras to make it a consistent smooth flowing melody.
