    I have this exact car - year, color and model. It is sick! Had a V8 Audi S5 before and this is by far more fun. Sound, handling, acceleration all amazing. The AWD is not as good as Quattro, but good enough. I can't tell you how many compliments I get driving this thing.

    I used to want a Corvette C7 until I saw this car. The Corvette C7's backside seems lazy. This car however sweeps the entire flow in design without any sudden stop. Absolutely beautiful at any angle.

    a note to Unique Mechanics and most online car reviewers: make a list of positive adjectives so you are prepared to be descriptive rather than overwhelmed. make a list of filler words and avoid them. Back in the 50s, everything was "cool, you know" now it is "incredible" when the car is credibly there. Most review do a good job with the video production and then irritate with language inappropriate to the task.

    my F-type 2WD convertible does 4.5s 0-60, I think your quoted 5.5s is for the non-S AWD, great review, love your excitement :-) little tip if you want to have real fun with the exhaust note, drive in semi-auto with the paddles and as you change gear lift the gas pedal slightly like you are driving a manual, as a result you get a double crack every time you change gear, awesome !

    • @ThomasHoffDE

Cant wait to have it in my driveway and cruisin’ the streets. Trading in my ‘17 Q60 Red Sport to finally have a true sports car. 9 Infiniti’s later & from Japanese to British. Looking forward to seeing the build quality and reliability of this foreign brand. Especially since my service center is an island away. Keep ya’ll posted :))

  • @ThomasFerrugia

    I have a '14 V8S Convertible (today's R). I wish I'd waited for the newer AWD model. The engine just has so much power (and develops so much torque) low in the rev-range that preventing the rear-wheels from spinning is challenging. You can't just mash the throttle and take-off . . you have to think for a second about how much power you REALLY need, and carefully apportion throttle inputs accordingly, which interrupts the fun. The transmission's kick-down and engine's power delivery are INSTANT so the rear tires can break traction in a straight line even when you're already moving at 30 MPH. The AWD system likely quells this and makes the car more neutral, and therefore more confidence-inspiring and fun to drive.
    PS - I bought my previous car (a pre-owned DB9 Volante from Cherry Hill Jaguar!).

    There are other videos saying that the f type interior is lacking. But the car you are driving has the extended leather package, this makes a world of difference. It even has carbon fiber pattern leather above the nav and above the instrument cluster. If your car is a few years old, use colourlock leather protectant, it makes the leather plush again and leaves a matte finish. The seats arent perforated leather which I prefer since cleaning gunk out of the perforated seats can be a pain. The seats are also heated but not ventilated and can get quite warm. I usually dont use the max setting of the heat because of that. This is the climate package of course, alsp comes with a heated steering wheel to keep your hands warm. You can also get an optional heated windshield, it makes breaking up the ice on cold days tons faster, the downside being that you can see the crossing wires under bright sun but it doesnt bother me, if I dont focus on it, I dont even notice it while driving. The shifter has a dab of leather and doesnt have a weird shape and you dont feel uncomfortable it is in your palm and has a little carbon fiber around it to match the dash, it's just enough and not overbearing. During night driving I also like the blue led lights lighting up the window switches at all times. The wide moonroof really opens up the interior and you no longer claustrophobic in such a driver focused interior. The one thing that I dont like isthe positioning of the cup holders, if you have a tall drink you will find your elbow fighting for the same airspace but I just put my elbow on the center console and it solves that problem. There is some storage in the doors but the style of the doors makes the angle a little awkward to retrieve the item. The only storage that can hold a medium sized item is the center pocket behind the seats, raised higher above. Can probably jam one light jacket there, otherwise, if more, it needs to go into the trunk. With the coupe, the trunk kid opens up very high and I can put 2 larger suitcases so for weekend getaways, it does me enough justice

    I traded my 2014 Audi RS5 for my 2017 F Type S Coupe British Design Edition. I loved the Audi and sacrificed horsepower and AWD to get the Jag, but this car is FUN. I bought all the talk about 7 Speed Dual Clutch transmission being superior until I experienced the 8 speed ZF in my Jag, and to my experience, the ZF is much more comfortable when you are on the street for all your driving. The Audi Dual Clutch would beat you to death for around town driving. This Jag allows power without sacrifice. I have gotten used to not having a back seat, and realistically I seldom need it. I can only take my grandsons one at a time, but they love it. I've had a lot of fun cars in my 75 years, but this one is right on the top.

      Have the type s awd...it is rear biased to about 90% in standard and dynamic modes but in rain snow I think it is 50/50 like the audi...so best of both worlds...audi style if you are in snow/rain but more porsche turbo style if you are doing sporty stuff....to me, optimal

    The handle on the passenger main console seat it's an old safety feature, looks great though, this is supposed to be used for the passenger to grab on while very sharp curves are taken by the driver, just to help the passenger keep his/her balance inside the car. No longer needed as the seat belts and the seats do that now, but gorgeous feature to have, makes it more sporty !

    • @cbaloi
      @cbaloi 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Come on Jaguar...No auto garage door opener, no camera, manual seat adjusting (yes, use ur hands to adjust it.). I figured in 2017, at least a garage door opener would have been installed. I put in a backup camera, and a fob for the garage, but really? It's still a great car and I love it...just saying.

    This car is low too, compared to your average sedan. Whenever I drive into and out of parking lots, I get anxiety, trying to enter the dip without having to hear the scraping sound. My advice is to get the car into a turn before entering the dip. If it's a light scrape, it's usually the scraping guard and not your actual bumper scraping. But Id imagine that if you go at the dip fast enough, it can probably damage the lip. As far as handling, it's amazing and you can go through bends with higher speeds and less bodyroll. The steering makes you feel planted and in control, reminding that you need to be engaged during fast corners, as it wont hold your hand and let you off the hook even with the electronic steering version. For fun driving, if your version comes with the dynamic mode, pull it, the screen turns red and the exhaust sound becomes alive. For automatics, when ever you are in normal drive mode but want to go crazy in an instant. Pop the shifter to the left and it will go into sport mode and your rev goes from 1-2k rpm to around 3k and all you need to do is floor it and remember to upshift. It will place you right into the powerband and the car becames a maniac

  • @BenM14-ZW11
    @BenM14-ZW11 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Next time you do a hard external rev, turn the exhaust on. And the handle in the middle that acts as a divide, its there for the passenger to grab on to when u hit the throttle and scare the cr*p out of them! Its not an emergency brake, its the normal park brake. If you don't hit the P at the top of the gear lever that does the same thing, except it doesn't take u out of drive mode. Pulling down on the toggle isn't "track mode" its dynamic mode. It gives you the full HP, noise etc, based on how you set it up in the I Dynamic settings. To be honest if you are going to review a car learn the facts of the car. I own one of these and this review left me crying, but then its an American review. And it JAG YOU ARE not JAGWAAR!

    well I don't know what it is about Jaguar I have 1972 with a 500 horse 400 in.³ V-8 and even with all of that power something about the Jaguar puts you in a mellow mood know most people would want to just go out stomp on the gas but for some reason even knowing I got that much horsepower and I could take off like a rocket sled I just seem to kick back and cruise I wonder if the newer JAGs have that same feeling about it that would be interesting to see I love the quality of a JAG and for me on my 72 everything is very user-friendly things are easy to get at the IRS is amazing one these days I'll have to take a new one out and see if it has the same feeling it looks pretty and sounds pretty good I also wonder if it has the same cruising on a sheet of glass ride to it

      I agree - if you're going to do a review, at least learn a few facts first rather than making stuff up. Makes me cringe when people do reviews and obviously have made little or no attempt to do some research into the car first. Why do car dealers bother to lend cars to people like this?? Giving inaccurate information surely can't help them sell more cars?
      Anyway, ordered mine and it arrives next month. Great car - I can't wait!

    I am new. Can someone tell me why this car is so expensive ? The spec says it go from 0-60 in 4.8 sec (at 79900) which are about Audi S5 and Mecr E-Class Coup (65k avg) . Interior looks average for that price. Audi and Merc definitely win interior. Its expensive only because exterior ?

    HANDLE POPS OUT “ JUST BECAUSE OF THAT ONE FEATURE U SHOULD BUY THIS” LOL GREAT SALESMAN. ITS A DAMN HANDLE IM NOT BUYING A CAR FOR ITS COOL HANDLE. IM BUYING FOR THE STYLE, INTERIOR, FUN FACTOR AND RELIABILITY

      That handle saved me one day. A guy followed me to my car and when I jumped in I locked it as soon as I jumped in with the fob, he swiped his hands where the handle would have been and thank god there was none to grab. If there were, maybe he could have opened the door.

    I don't see how you would use this car in snow on purpose ,Yet you mention it a couple of times . I'm sure this car comes with speed rated tires , and as a sports car it's low to the ground . When high end sports cars have 4 wheel drive they usually are tuned for grip on dry roads although they can be helpful in wet traction . But I would think in this case it's more helpful with launch , understeer and g's in tight turns . Overall good review .
