Good information Edwin. When you get back to “breaking down the lake”, please put Toledo Bend on your list. 👌

This Florida girl LOVED that video. I realize you were Texas rigged, but this time of year I look for some mussels or a shell bar and Carolina rig it...sometimes only 2-3 foot of water. BAM! Love to use a big worm or a craw!!

Hey Edwin, another great video! I'm guessing that there wasn't any thermocline in play here with you fishing that deep. Right now, Jordan Lake NC has a thermocline of 18 feet in some places. Thanks for your videos and sharing your knowledge! 🤟

Great video Edwin. The dog days can be tough. Where was the thermocline on that lake? Turned it in to some nice catches.

This is a great example of the times when even pro fisherman struggle for bites but also a great example on how to capitalize on that tough bite. Dealing with the no wind and high temp shows the dedication and the hard work that goes into these videos. Keep it up man.👍

Always good stuff Edwin. I've been trying to work on fishing for open water fish on isolated cover. I fish on a battery only reservoir so I don't get to cover a lot of water when I go out but I always think to look to you for tips and techniques when I'm out there. Keep up the great work Edwin!

I found it interesting that you said you find the worm to be more weedless than the jig when dragging your bait up and over brush and limbs. I agree to some extent, but I have found that long curly tail like is on your 12” power worm will catch and wrap in the limbs if you are not very careful in how quickly you pull the bait free when it does kind of get caught on a limb during your retrieve. You are a trooper fishing in that heat. I will say this though, on a 93 degree day in late August or early September last year I caught my biggest bass of the year. They do still bite but you definitely have to be willing to work for them.

Every video I learn more, I am 60 years old and I have never learned how to precision cast. I hope to see some instruction in that sometime soon. Back lashes seem to be a recurring problem when I’m practicing. Not all the time but it proves I’m not very good. Lol. I’ve always thought I would like to try tournaments sometime but it doesn’t work in the boat that I have. Keep up the wonderful work.

Make sure to get a baitcaster with the spool tension knob and the brake adjustment. Makes a huge difference! Good luck!

Great video. I struggle in August also, I think part of it has to do with my fishing partner hates to go slow! Next turn on my boat he will fish slow down or make 50 cast in the same spot with a buzz bait. Lol

Edwin, do you only have to fizz the fish when putting them in the box? I’ve always heard anything over 20’ you have to fizz them?

Can you fish deep in a river system like the Ohio or Mississippi, like you would in a reservoir?

I remember seeing a tv show (the Bass Pros maybe) that had a segment of you catching bass in deep water with super long shakey worms. Yum Mighty Worm I think. I recorded that show on my dvr and watched it over and over til I finally caught one using that tactic. Haven’t fished those things in a long time, but I’ll have to get them out next year.

How much are you using electronics fishing like this? Are you seeing fish on screen, just structure, or do you not look at all?
I love the way how you are talking through your process of determining the pattern you are fishing. Thanks for the video.

Which side of Sail Boat Bridge were you fishing at near the start of the video?
Was it the Shangri-La side or across going into Grove? Thank you in advance for your reply.

In all my years of fishing & Keeping Written Records, the Last Quarter Moon Phase is the Toughest to fish. You have to put the bait Right On the fishes Nose. Bites are Few & Far Between.
