Good afternoon Will. Another interesting video-a gentle cruise. Re the Glasson Branch, you had me worried there with it being locked! I read canal magazines monthly and hadn't picked up on any closure. So I looked at CRT website and one broken paddle and one leaky lock, but otherwise functional! Thank goodness. When you do get there, or maybe you already have, be aware the long wall on the right as you enter the basin is a very rough spot to moor in high winds. Big banging waves! I looked up hire boats and there's quite a few providers on the Lancaster and I know most if not all don't allow hirers to take their boats down the Branch. All the best. Paul.😊

Many places you have shown in this video brings back memories of my grandparents who used to spend most of Thier time on this canal..
They owned a working boat and delivered coal and fuel ..to people on boats and village shops..
Strangely enough they hated transporting salt... because it would rust the hull . Of Thier boats... they say that it was the good old days..????
Growing up on the canals in the good old days.???? Was nothing more than hard work from the time you woke up to the time you went to sleep.
One good thing about the good old days and that's the fact that locks were always in good working order...
Anyway will keep smiling mate . life is to short to worry about things .. stay safe and well will.👍👍👍.
Sounds like your grandparents were serious grafters because it was all load by hand. I can't imagine being covered in salt. What it must do to steel and leather.

Shui, welcome back from your Taiwan travels. I do hope your family back home are well and happy. You and Will still look great together, and he really does need someone to look after him. I haven't watched much TH-cam for a while and lost track of Will's adventures, and noticed your site had closed. Will, you're looking happier and better than you have for a long while. Crikey, I remember that Polkington canal ??, what a nightmare. If You're after another propeller, just take photo's to prove you can't travel a section. Great to see you two together. Take care.

Gleason branch might not look it, but it is open mate - check with CRT but we’ve had friends go down and back up in the last couple of weeks!

absolutely open but like a lot of branches its rarely used ! need to use them or lose them as they say. dont want it being closed and abandoned like the Chester Locks Branch
oh dear Will , you're making me feel unfit lol , ive only got some small dumbells , but i hardly use them as they hurt my shoulders , i loved that widebeam , such great colours , but as you said , it would be a nightmare to paint , all those different colours lol , it was a shame about that boat sunk , it looked like it was really nice once .

That looks a great canal pity all locked up id be ok on my kayak but in and out passing the locks not enjoyable.

All the top paddles on the Glassen branch are locked with a "watermate" key to prevent vandels.
My crt key doesn't fit. I asked another boater to lend me his key to get one cut. These locks are slightly different to my standard crt key. How annoying. 🫤

I hope with all my heart you never get dementia. its a cruel disease not only for the person with it but their family too. My mum has it. Heartbreaking
I know. It's heartbreaking. The kids mums mum has got it. She can't remember who her kids are. It's really sad.

That's a very pretty canal, especially now you've got leaves on the trees. When you get a mower sputtering like when you were taking in water, don't you want to just sort it out for them? Put some petrol in or clean the carb or something. I hate it when I hear an engine doing that. Lol.

Your brain power lose has many names will. my wife has Dementia not good Will I have brain farts senior moments now which Will probably turn into some more exciting and colorful problems all bad nothing good about losing it. But Hell at 81 something has to wear out or break . The only problem is you can't get it fixed at the local chandlery. Stay safe say hi To the X the food looked great we just had spaghetti for an early lunch here in San Diego with green salad garlic bread and fresh garden house salad . Stay safe you 2 .

20:06 There is a piece of wood to stop the paddle opening so I'd say Glasson branch is un-navigable.
It does look un-navigable but I've heard boats are in the basin. I shall look into it. 👌
Will listen to your body. If you have lost weight, go to the doctor and have your blood checked. Ask them to check your count for cancer. PS you are not a candidate for Alzheimer's. You are just the same as the rest of us, getting a little older, things are just more difficult to remember. Good doses of sun and go pick dandelions and nettles fresh and make tea. Take care of yourself mate! ❤️

I must've eaten something dodgy because I'm OK now.
Some food really irritates my bowel, but the doctors are completely useless at healthy eating diets. I've been many times to my old doctor many bloating, etc. He said I was eating too fast. I kid you not..
I might go onto a carb free diet with zero sugar. 😥😭

@@NarrowboatWill just hop off the boat every morning and pick dandelions and nettles just a couple of sprigs, pop them into a pot and pour boiling water over . Let them sit for 10 minutes. You can sweeten with honey. Maybe pay and go private.
@@NarrowboatWill PS a big culprit for irritable bowel is grain, ie bread everything with wheat. If you can find a responsible source of grain that hasn’t used round up, that could also help. Yes Round Up herbicide is used to dry the grain , it’s sprayed on before harvesting…..
