Protests break out in France following EU parliament vote | VOA News

Protesters took to the streets of Paris Monday following the results of Sunday’s European Parliament election in which Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally party scored big wins.
Eyewitness video showed protesters marching, torches being thrown, and police chasing demonstrators down a street.
Macron said the EU result was grim for his government and one he could not ignore, prompting him to call a snap national election.
If Le Pen's National Rally party wins a parliamentary majority, Macron would be left with little sway over domestic affairs.
