The system allows such things France did it before in the 90s Dissolving parliament doesn't mean parliament as an institution is removed but rather everyone in parliament now has to be relected into again. Macron feels the gains of the far right parties threatens his centrist majority he is hoping that more people will vote centrist than far right.

I am not well versed in politics. Can someone tell me briefly what exactly Macron’s goal is with this step? With the dissolution of Parliament and early elections, if his party wins, will the French elections related to the European elections be repeated??
So, his party did not get that many votes in the EU election. So now he is asking the french to vote a new parliament in FRANCE because the old one got elected way before the EU election. It is the most democratic thing he could have done

@@jn1tyDissolving just means it will get reelected. A parliament has a fixed term. For example 4 years. The french president has the right to host reelections before this term ends. And that is what he is doing. British PM did that too some weeks ago, just saying. It is pretty democratic. He currently has a majority in parliament, and he will probably loose it now. But that is democracy.
