beginner nail tech here. i’ve been so stuck with clientele and just so unmotivated. my bf encouraged me to do press ons and looked up press ons on youtube and this is the first video i clicked on. i fell in love with how detailed you are with directions. beautiful set you did here! press ons seem easier for starters rather than acrylic! definitely appreciate you explaining! much love val❤
Same here, def motivated but not too confident though everyone says otherwise, I moved on to press ons and it’s fun, u got this! And just watch Val’s videos they’re all so helpful and informative! U do got this tho and good luck 💕
That’s not a bad idea. You can get a box of tips and a cutter and a beetles polish set for less than $40. Practice and use them for content on your socials and sell them if you can❤
Hi! Press ons are definitely way more beginner friendly and a great way for you to practice designs and more and then after you could decide if being a nail tech with acrylic or gelx would be best for you 😊💖 im glad it helped you!
It took me about 2-3 years to get GOOD clientele to were I can do nails full time . Take your time , half fun . As you get better , & post more , clients will come to you 🫶🏼 make sure you tag your city when you post !
I have watch so many of your videos and I want to say please don’t change anything about your videos. I love when you talk that to me means you very thorough. I love that you lift other women up and help them grow their passions!! You are a beautiful TH-cam personality and I’m sure so many woman connect with you!! Thank you for sharing!!!!

@@NfkdFjejejdI don’t think she responded to you and it’s been like a year but if anyone is still wondering, you can’t use a practice hand to make press ons. You have to insert the cover tip into the finger or with the other practice hands you have to get special fake nails that fit the practice hand. What I have done in the past is take a pen cap that can stand on its own, and I take a small piece of clay and put it in the bottom to secure it to my table and then I take another piece of clay and put it on the top so the tip sticks to it.

Hi, Val I am taken away by yr humbleness. Your work is 🔥. I subscribed to yr channel not only because of your work but just how honest and real u are. Keep up the good work💖.
I just saw a video of you explaining how you got into nails. I quit years ago from a bad hand. I'm a nail tech and couldn't do what you do. I just wanted to say I think you're great! I don't think you talk too much either. ❤️
I am starting my own press-on nail / Bling business and have always wanted to learn how to make my own flowers these nails turned out so pretty. I am going to Sub to watch more videos like this.
Wow this set is beautiful!!!! I am sooooo new to this. I have just been interested in learning how to do nails and told myself ima start with me. I have done 2 gel manicures and pedicures on myself so far but I love tips and long nails and I have been wanting to learn how to do press on nails. And watching this video really made me just want to go order what I need and start trying lol. Thank you for this
I saw a video where the nail tech had their client send a photo of their hands next to a quarter for reference. The tech enlarged the photo, fit a quarter over the one in the photo and used that to determine the nail size. Not the same as a sizing chart but your comment reminded me of that video, so I had to share just in case it might be helpful :D
Hi Val, I love your videos and am learning a lot. Are you curing the nails between base coats and gel polish? Please share how long your curing and if you top coat is tacky. How do you handle tacky top coat? Please let us know. Thank you.
Love this video and the nail set is beautiful! I’m wanting to do press on nails just for myself, for times when I just can’t sit long enough to do my own the traditional way. You nail art, your tutorials are the best in my opinion, I learn so much from you. 😊 I will be headed to Amazon to grab the gorilla glue putty stuff for my stands. Thanks ☺️ Enjoyed watching!
New subscriber here. You are quite the artist. And very good at what you do! I used to do my own nails with dip powder, but I've been experimenting with press on nails, which is much easier for me now. Very good video! Thank you!
Thank you so much for all the helpful tips ans advise! Do you not file your nails until the very end when they are cured? I am just starting off making press ons and I have been spending way too much time filing the nails to shape them, do you recommend an electric nail drill? Also, how do you know how long to make the nails? I have seen people label them (long, short, extra short etc but how do I know what length to cut them to to match the size). Thanks again for your helpful videos, I have been binge watching 😂.
@princesstopaz7210 one method that nail techs use is to ask the client to take a picture of their hand next to a coin, they use the coin as a reference so they can enlarge the picture and it'll sort of be the same proportions (I hope that makes sense I'm so bad at explaining things 😅)
These are so so cute :3 Thanks for being so thorough with your tutorials and for letting us know exactly what we need! I work with gel rather than acrylics, but I feel like the skills are pretty transferable. I can't wait to be able to sell press ons too!! :)))
Beautiful!!!! Can you tell me what you suggest to your customers (or do you include it) to glue their press on's on? Also are they told any instructions regarding prep of their own nails. I am a nail tech but have never done press on's and my granddaughter is wanting me to make her set. Thank you for all the information that you are willing to share.
You can put acrylic on gel x or full covers .. you totally can you can treat them like any other tip.. actually I only use full covers and you can attach with acrylic also.. I hate regular tips I didn’t know for a long time you could use acrylic with full covers .. but you can
Excellent!! First timer and immediate subscriber!!! 👏👏👏👏 I just want to do these for myself. If you have a video showing how to apply these on without popping off, please tag me. Your delivery was superb!! 👏👏👏 Thanks for your time 👍👍
Omg literally loved this video Val 😍😭 I swear I feel like your talking to me directly, love it keep it up love. Btw, the filling in with the thin long brush I felt the satisfaction too omg 😅😅 hahaha
It is so satisfying, watching you paint the tips 😃! You taught me how to do it on another video. You do great with all of it, the application and explaining❤️
New sub here… thank you for all your tips and tricks. I do acrylic and gel x but want to start doing press ons and your video was the first one that came up and it was useful thank you so much.
quick question!! I really wanna start doing press on nails but I'm so nervous on how to make sure they fit my customers. I understand they will have to measure the width of their nails and everything. But I'm struggling with what tips to buy in terms of c-curve. I went on the tulip nails website, and they sell c-curved nails, and flattened nail tips. Which ones would I want? What if my customer has really flat nail plates and my press on nails are too c-curved for them? Hope this makes sense!!😬😬 Thanks
You are my favorite thank you so much for being very detailed and made it to were we understand and we can do this set with you as we go like it’s dope I am a new I mean beginning and I was so scared but seeing this I think I can do it with much much practice
Omg, these are so pretty!😱😍 I literally just clicked. Lemme watch the whole thing lol Oh, you’re MAKING the 3D flower!?!? Omg... wow. Very talented! I thought it was an accessory.🤯
Size kit ! You could send out a size kit or ask that customers measure with tape and ruler 😊 but size kit is best. I have a video on it here on my channel
Amazing video. I know you talked about being chatty in this video but I honestly appreciate it a lot. Your descriptions are very detailed and I learned a lot just from what you said
How do you keep the putty from sticking to the nail when you take it off from the stand? Also how do prevent the nail from having its edges curve in a little because when I took my practice one off the stand to test it on myself it was elevated weirdly on my natural nail
This explains so much! I want to start making press ons and this taught me so much. But question do you cure after every layer like the base etc? or just after the top coat?
You are so awesome seriously!! I love your channel and thank you so much for explaining things and taking your time to do so. I would love to see that pastel Luis vitton nail look sometime that would be awesome!
Hi there with gloss would you recommend doing the top coat then the rhinestones or rhinestones then top coat? Also, with a gloss top coat would I still file the edges to make them sharp? Would it happen to mess up the nail and make the top coat start coming off the rest of the nail?
Hi! You could do it however you would like ! But I think topcoat after stones would be best ❤ and then yes ! You could file the nails after top coat , after your nail set is completely finished ! 🥰 it does not affect the nails at all
I love your videos! I’m just wondering, how do u know what sizes to make the press ones for customers? Especially if you use different tips. I noticed all the tips I have fit different sizes.

So in the very beginning after you apply your base coat, how long do you cure and do you wipe the tacky part off before applying more product?thank you!! I love your videos

Okay, I’m a SUPER BEGINNER.
Question, Do you ever file or shape the nail? More so towards the base near the cuticle? Or is that not a thing?
I’m new at starting this press ons. What do I put the nails on after they are done. I’ve only done acrylics
Love it so much !!! Could you do I video on how to get the brush perfect like yours
Yes ! ill customize another one in my next french tips video 💕
STUNNING press ons I love them🥰🥰😍😍
How do you make the curvy part less bulky? Bc sometimes I use a lot of coats of nail polish and it makes the press on “ tick” at the cuticle part
I would recommend holding your nail tips with the tip facing downward! Gravity will help the gel not stay in the cuticle area ❤ and work with thin layers
