    The shrill notes of the "On To Kansas City" intro into Hillys theme, with the sun rising over the empty road with their stolen Jag.... cinema masterpiece

    This is a prime example of how very essential a movie score can be to the movie's string of action. This is so exhilarating! Thank you Mr. Mancini for touching my heart and enriching my life!

    Just a great movie and one of the best soundtracks of all time, what a shame most of the actors are now deceased

    GREATEST CRASH SEQUENCE EVER PUT TO FILM! You can't do that with CGI...

      Personally I'd go with The Fugitive, but the wreck scene is definitely an amazing use of Practical effects, and how they did it is also downright amazing

    • @thomaslevy2119
      @thomaslevy2119 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The crash is based on an actual event. During WWII a Pennsylvania railroad (if I recall the story correctly) passenger train lost its brakes as it approached a terminal. It smashed through the end buffers and the huge electric locomotive slid out on to the concourse. The floor was not designed to support the massive weight of the engine, and it fell into the terminal's basement. The loco was left where it was and the floor replaced. After the war ended, the engine was craned out, repaired, and put back into service. Reality is stranger than fiction.

      Well, no. As much as I LOVE this, his '60's work was better - Charade, Arabesque, Wait Until Dark. But this whole movie is a shadow of earlier, better movies, @ least they were smart enough to hire Mancini. Did I just ignore Pink Panther?! I was blessed/fortunate enough to see Henry (Hank?) perform @ Ontario Place in Toronto. Music from that era - Bacharach David, Motown, John Barry, Beatles - is timeless.

    I LOVE this music to Silver Streak, and I LOVE the movie as well, love the build up just before the train slams into the station in Chicago, sort of wish they could do a remake of Silver Streak and have the character of George Caldwell save the train from crashing into the station, think that might be kind of cool

    The funniest scene in Silver Streak is when both the late Richard Pryor & late Gene Wilder are going past the security check point to go and board the Silver Streak which that scene was in the Kansas City Union Station.
