An epic theme for the most epic rack in a vampire flick this side of Hammer and Ingrid Pitt...
Beyond underrated. The score and the film.
I had this on cassette! Those were good days!
Clean orchestration, great theme and treatment of the theme. Hank Mancini was a master and even John Williams holds him in high regard.
Mancini passed a couple of months before I saw John Williams perform live, and in addition to conducting a couple of Mancini pieces with the Boston Pops (Breakfast at Tiffany's and The Pink Panther, as I recall), he spoke for a while about how fantastic Mancini was as both a person and a composer.
I genuinely love all Mancini's 'lounge music' type work from the 60s (i.e. The Pink Panther, Two for the Road, plus numerous non-soundtrack albums), but I keep forgetting that he also did an epic, bombastic score like Lifeforce. I envy that musical range.
Henry’s last masterpiece
Such strong & beautiful tone, and yes, this is a sound of Life force. Henry himself is a Universe, has ALL inside of him.
What an amazing era the 80's were for film music!
Damn just now finding out about henry, he's amazing
I remember the film and love it, but had no idea Mancini composed the soundtrack! Now I adore the whole thing 💕👍
brilliant score for one of my favorite 80's films.
I cycle to work listening to this, also those space vampires will never catch me! 🧛🏻
Enjoyed this movie
Excelent!
TRIUMPHANT SCORE ✊👏⭐👑🛡
GREAT...
This movie gave me nightmares, something about our souls being sucked out of our bodies by space vampires. Fiction, but still hit a nerve.
I think the really scary thing about this movie. This movie also killed the "hot space girl" fantasy I had as a kid😏.
Isn't this what Alex Jones has been talking about for a while, the elites are interdimensional space vampires here sucking the life out of us, and our children.....hmmm
The greatest Quatermass movie ever made without Bernard Quatermass.
Best Line;
Para to Col. Caine; You don't want to go in there, Colonel.
Caine; I know I don't. (Puts Land Rover in gear and floors it, heading straight into the middle of the "anomaly".)
I Agree! Big time!! Cheers!
@Stefano Pavone Amazing! Would love to see that version! I own the last reel in 35mm. Love this film so much. Looking to get the first 4 reels! Cheers Stefano!
15:26 Triumphant theme.
At running time 6:52 the fanfares of the golden age of film music set in. It was in the times of great composers who turned even the worst sci-fi/fantasy film of the 1980ies into something epic and all time classic.
Mancini must have collapsed after this or drank a bottle of Scotch! He was giving it all he got!! Magnificent! You should hear Web of Destiny: Part 2 th-cam.com/video/3R1eF1zp-w0/w-d-xo.html - Like the Battle of Britain music! Hairs on the back of my neck!
❤👏🏻
Better than the version on spotify
Very Herrmann-esque!!!
Tema en el que se inspira el estilo en las peliculas de Xmen de Fox.
The absolute worse movie ever made, which is a part of why it's so absolutely, perfectly brilliant. I love it! We need more of this stuff! Oh, and the score is absolutely gorgeous! I never thought a titty flick could sound like this...until 1985. **edit: it was 1985, right?
Worst movie, best score.
This movie was so bad that it became good, through sheer force of will.
