Kubota Mower Deck Tips

Changing a BX23s mower deck.
In this video, I'll be showing you how I changed the way I change the mower deck on my BX23s Kubota tractor.
With a 12-foot-wide garage, and a deck that’s 5 feet wide, there wasn't enough room to slide the deck out, so here is a solution that makes changing the deck much easier. I'll also be sharing a bonus tip for storing the deck neatly against the wall. Whether you're a Kubota owner or just someone looking for some tractor tips, this video is for you!
Previously, I would have to remove the backhoe and loader, drag the deck under the tractor. it’s quite heavy. and install the deck.
Then, after mowing, I would have to remove the deck by dragging it out, then reinstall the loader, and backhoe. dragging this heavy deck resulted in some flat spots on the deck's wheels. I know I can rotate the wheels to roll it under, but it takes too long to reset all the wheels back.
Now, I simply remove the backhoe.
Drive the tractor up to the deck with the loader lifted.
Set the brake, I use some plywood to protect the floor.
Lift the front of the tractor up and roll the deck into position.
now this makes it much easier to get the deck under to install.
Now, I can remove the loader.
when I’m finished mowing, the first thing I do Is reinstall that big hydraulic jack! I Mean the loader. This makes is so much easier. Especially when you don’t have the space to slide the deck out.
Now I know what you are going to say.
“They make a drive over deck.”
That’s nice but I don’t have a drive over deck!
“Why don’t you just leave the deck on all the time?”
When doing any kind of backhoe or loader work you need as much ground clearance as possible, this also goes for plowing snow.
TAKE THE DECK OFF WHEN NOT NEEDED.
Just like you should never mow with the loader and backhoe on. That’s just common sense.
I also want to share with you a brilliant trick that has made this process even easier. I use two 15 Inch pipes with a hole for a pin that Attaches to the top of the wheel pipes. this makes it easy to move and store the deck neatly against the wall. This is a great way to keep the deck out of the way and makes blade changes and cleaning much simpler. The deck already has wheels on it!
