I've just received my new SKIL screw driver and was very surprised about the overall good quality and high torque. Did not expect much but it's decent quality specially for a China brand! I'm hoping to keep this screw driver for a long time and was immediately worried about serviceability of the device. But then I saw the easy to access screws to open the case and was wondering if the battery inside will be serviceable when the time comes to change it. Before opening the brand new device to check this I've googled for a video and saw that you've already done this work! Thanks a lot for your great video 👍👍👍
To me it would have more value being designed even smaller and lighter without the circuit detection. I dislike different tools crammed into one. Like everything with a bottle opener! But I will still give one a try for those smaller jobs.
I have not had any issue with any of the ones I have yet. I did show in the video looking inside that it has small micro switches for the fwd/rev. Under where the twist ring is. I would check those first. I also mentioned how the Skil driver is it's replacement. Also even though the Dewalt driver is more expensive, I love mine and I bought it tool only for $20 and then bought a generic 8.4V pack for $17 and it is amazing, it is super fast and the gyro control is better than I thought it would be. I have been asked about the Dewalt, but I have not done a show and tell on it yet! Good luck with your hammer head, hopefully it is simple!
My Hammerhead stop rotating counter-clockwise but clockwise is good. I opened it and messed up sth. since there was smoking(a lot of white smoke) when i turn the switch. it still rotating counter-clockwise good, but i can feel that the pcb board is warm(especially if you put your finger very close to the pcb board) even idle. is this normal? (battery is cool anyway)
Just a single 18650. The Skil states 1.3ah and the Hammerhead states 5Wh so both similar spec. I would think most basic 18650 cells between 1200 and 1500mah should be just fine.

Very good, I own three of the SKIL models, they are great for the money.
My Hammerhead quit rotating clockwise (works counter-clockwise). Any ideas on how to fix? Handy tool, but ss you state, seems you can't replace.

Oh No... the magic smoke!
It is not normal for the board to be hot while in idle. Seems as if it would pull the battery down too low?

Left my Skil out in the rain. Now it still charges up but LED lights stay on all the time (except when it’s being charged).
