SO much to love in this video, Max! The explanation of various parts of the piano, the marvellous improvement you made in the sound of it, cats & dogs having fun, and of course, your marvellous playing. And we know what you mean about the foxes on PEI. When we were there a few summers ago we saw them all over the place. Thanks so much for sharing, Max. You put a huge smile on our faces.

Cool, I've been looking forward to the continuation/conclusion of this restoration. Loved the boxed Ham

Ham is still loving that box a good two/three weeks after this was recorded. xD Thanks; I like the piano's sound too! Reconditioning certainly isn't the same result as rebuilding, but I love the character of the tone regardless.

Thanks maestro! Very glad you like it. Maybe I'll try to play some Donald Lambert in the next one.

Loved this two part series, very informative and of course, the music was awesome! I'll be honest, the piano sounded really good in it's own way in the "before" recording. The hammers in the treble gave it that singing blooming tone characteristic of old pianos that have survived fairly well over the years but do have wear.
Oh, and say hi to Ham, he's just about one of the funniest cats I've seen, we had two kitties, both passed on but man, you get so much fun from them!
    Keep up the good work!

I love old pianos like this. Especially when they sound a little off given their condition theyre in. It makes them characteristic. But reconditioning is also fine for me :)

Wow I love how spontaneous this video is. You rarely see foxes where I live, so seeing so many was delightful.
The process of fixing up that piano was very interesting to watch… the end result is really nice, though part of me can’t help love the out-of-tune sound it had before the overhaul. There’s just something melancholy about that.
That said, my piano at home will probably need an overhaul like this too. ‘:D
How many hours did you spend on this in total? It was dark at the end of your video so I assume you spent at least two whole days on this.
Also, this is the first time I saw you have a tattoo. What is it depicting?
Your playing was great as always (I didn’t mind the mistakes in the slightest at the end), so don’t worry about that.

Fascinating guy. Saving what will never come again.
Do you sell them or would you restore an upright if I found a worthy candidate.
    I like your channel.
