This means the cut content from the original, which they promised to add in, were last on their priority list. Nickelodeon was rushing the development of the game, which resulted in not only the large amount of glitches, but also shoehorning the cut content into a rushed Multiplayer mode. They probably wanted to add in the extra levels like Patrick’s Dream and the RoboSquidward boss fight into the single player mode, but Nick wouldn’t let them
I get being faithful to the original but I dont see why these guys couldn't be secret characters or post launch dlc. The game sold gangbusters on all platforms and recieved rave reviews from fans. Imagine if after you beat the final boss it unlocked all these guys or if some well hidden easter egg unlocked them like doing something in squidward house or the krusty krab etc etc. I know the Devs like watching videos about the game so hopefully if enough people see this the devs will change their mind and add these characters to singleplayer. I'd love to play as squidward in single player or Mr krabs.

There was concept art for a Squidward fight and the rest of the playable characters had a doppleganger so I wonder if he was planned as well. He could have been a ranged focused character with his Clarinet which would have been interesting like maybe giving him some variant of a cruise bubble to use or a stun move. Part of me wondered if he would be added to the game as a playable character with some new stages for him to play around in but seems like that isn't the case. Also thought these were end game bonuses to play around with but its a mod so kinda a shame but also cool that this is possible which makes me curious on how else you could change the game. I saw a Doodle Bob skin in another video, do they have unlockable costumes in this game or was that a mod too?

@@fidelis5554 No, you don't enter the command, rather you need to use the DPad (Or L or O on PC) to select the option "PINE_SwitchToNextCharacter" then you would press left and right on the DPad (or P on PC) to switch your character mid game. Make sure you enter a new level before trying to select the option, or the option won't appear! Hopefully that helps, not the best at explaining things

I can understand why that wasn't a thing, but it would have been a good way to give people a reason to beat the game again as the "new" characters
