  • I test the different wifi frequencies on the Slate AX 1800 to see which will connect to a Mevo Start at the farthest distance.
The cover being used on the Mevo Start is my own design and 3D printed by me.

I must be a little technically illiterate but I have a question...or two. I just received the Slate AX1800 and I'm not sure what I'm doing with it. I do recordings at events but have had a lot of trouble live streaming from the facility's WiFi. Lots of video dropping out. I was told to get this and that would remedy the problem. Can I use my hotspot on my iPhone to connect this and then connect my iPad that I use my cameras with? Step by step would help:)

At most facilities, Wifi is really restrictive, meaning one device can't connect to another because of IT rules. What you are doing with Slate is creating your own network and then having it connect to the facilities Wifi just for the internet. There are lots of videos that explain how to do this. You just have to find the right one that makes it easiest for you to understand. Watch enough of them and it will start to make sense. I will try to do a step by step in the future. I apologize it took me so long to catch your comment.
Yes, you can connect to the cellphones hotspot. That's similar to what I wrote above. There can be some issues though. Nothing is fool proof.

Can you provide the link for your tripod?

It's kinda wabbly when fully extended. I would also invest in sand bags to weigh it down. This will keep it from getting knocked over by wind.

What is your speed coming off your router?

I'm not sure what you are asking.

I was not livestreaming at the time, only recording. Also, I don't know what the upload and download speeds of the router were. I wasn't that technical about it. I wouldn't know how to see that from my tablet.
