That's pretty cool bud, I like the sound of it too! I used 2" inch EMT electrical conduit, same thing as you got there, but I put a exhaust on a old car of mine, all the way out the back too, sounded good too, course I used set screw fittings instead of compression fittings but still worked.

Galvanize is just a coating you can remove as much as you need by grinding pad , Js
