  • This particular video is meant to be an introductory video. I am a cushman fanatic, the owner Cushy Cream; a novelty ice cream vending company. I do all of my own work when possible, and have developed a knack for working on these things. As it is a lost art, I have been asked to make some videos regarding their maintenance and repair. Please do not forget to click on the subscribe button...it allows me to keep making videos like this.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have a 1987 that I have been struggling with off and on for 2 years... just in the last couple of days I searched online for a new carb or a rebuild kit and could not believe the prices....I told myself that there has to be another carb that would fit my 22hp OMC engine, and then you post this.....I look forward to more videos!

      Go on google and type "Kohler k582 carburetor", then select the "shopping" tab. You will find multiple sellers with prices varying between $25 and $70. Glad this helps, and hope to be making many more videos to come.

    I see these things every now and again and I've been wanting one for a while now. Looks awesome. Like a street legal go kart truck. I would totally use this to go grocery shopping in or take to work if it wasn't super far away.

    I would really like to see a video on changing brake shoes, cylinders and master cylinder on a OMC 22 hp 1987 Haulster 3 wheeler. You wouldn't have to actually do the work but just show the steps and which nuts and bolts to remove. I don't even know where to start yet. I subscribed.

    Hey Jesse, Keep up with the very helpful videos. BTW, my wife, Penny, just bought your 1968 and I am trying to figure out the maintenance.

    I'd like to see more but for new to omc engine folk
    A video that goes into the difference between the 18 and 22 hp versions, proper timing and oiling the advance (aswell as checking it) and basic stuff like where the grease fittings are, the right oils and maybe some help with those evil little brakes and impossible to pull rear hubs

    I have a 1987 Cushman Truckster 22hp OMC. Runs great until it gets under load then it loses RPM's even on a slight up grade. I don't think the governor is working correctly. Do you know how the governor works & how to troubleshoot & adjust?

    The two companies that I referenced for parts are www.directparts.com and www.xtremedist.com
    The carburetor link no longer works, however if you google "kohler k582" and click on the shopping tab, you will find the carburetor you need for less than $50.

      I still cannot see where the K582 fits the Cushman? there is no reference to Cushman?

    • @cushycream
      @cushycream  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaellizee4421 correct. It is not made for Cushman. It is made for a Kohler engine. It happens to fit a Cushman engine.

      Glad to hear they are helpful for you! I'm relatively nearby in Thomasville, NC. You should really take a day sometime and check out the Dennis carpenter museum since you're close by. It's on I85 going towards Charlotte. He has a HUGE cushman collection hidden away there. If you call ahead, they will give you a full tour.
      I'll be trying to get them to let me post a video virtual youtube tour of it soon.

      Try joining the Cushman Truckster group on facebook. There are over 5,000 members that all love Cushman vehicles. Should be an easy sell.
