    The Elizavecca Cer-100 hair care line… the whole line… insane!! I’m 51 and this has changed my crazy frazzled hair into silky strands. I’ve used the coating treatment, the A+ muscle spray and the hair oil. Superb

    Makeup updates: the mascara is definitely “tubing” imo (seems K-Beauty doesn’t use that word) and even removed exactly like the Milani, meaning: a LOT of tubes. The foundation is a good example of what I was talking about with my lighting lol 🤦‍♀️

    Regarding "for all hair type" Western hair products, I believe they are mainly designed for thicker, straight hair, and perhaps slightly wavy hair, but definitely not for curly or coily hair. Using products not intended for curly or coily hair tends to dry it out. Additionally, it's often needed to use more products like leave-in and gel to achieve some definition.
    I enjoy your videos and hope Korean haircare works for you!❤

      Ah that does make sense. My partner has wavy hair and can practically grab anything from the shelf, I guess because her hair is pretty in-the-middle (seems it would be convenient lol!) Whereas sooo much weighs my hair down. Very excited to try out these products!

    I'm definitely hooked on the Isntree onion line. There is a visible improvement in the healing speed of my acne marks. I have hormonal acne, a pimple here and there would show up on my period and the marks usually stick around to the next period. I'm constantly stacking acne marks and hyperpigmentation. Just by using the toner and applying my DIY pads on the acne, they were going away faster. So now I got myself the cream. For a combination skin, it's a perfect moist/texture balance and I've been particularly focusing on the problematic areas. I think I might just get the ampoule next time. I'm IN LOVE.
    Also about StyleVANA shipping, last time on black Friday, I didn't pay attention that I had an item in my cart that was "available in 30 days". So it took literally 30 days for that item to be in stock, and from there 2 weeks for my order to be delivered. So, 6 weeks in total. This month, I made sure everything was "available within 24h", and my order arrived in ONE week. So I guess the best way is to divide your cart based on the availability of the products.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s an incredible line. I really believe that anyone who deals with any kind of inflammation or irritation, be it from acne or something else, will see results from it!
      And yup, the availability on stylevana makes a tremendous difference. I feel like it should be in the most gigantic print on the webpage!!

      Combo skin girl with hormonal acne here is so thankful for your reply. I started feeling like I was in kindergarten again and I can connect the dots on my face with old marks and new pimples. The bifida ferment lysate products have been helpful too! BFL is my new BFF.

    Saw the TirTir toner and immediately thought it would be a nice replacement for Laniege Cream Skin for me. (Also I admit was also highly interested when I noticed that EXO's member Baekhyun advertising it) Milky toners are what my dry skin needs now. I'll keep TirTir in my next new brand to try out!

    the Instree pads are designed that way so you can easily tear off the layers to use them as a sheet mask

  • @kr59137
    @kr59137 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I like toner pads because in my head it feels wasteful dumping all the toner on to a cotton pad to use as a sheet mask. I know realistically it probably works out to be the same. The Isntree pads may be designed to pull apart like that! I watched a video with Euni & Soo where they pulled the pads apart the Skinfood toner pads like that before using them like a sheet mask.

    I feel like that foundation shade is exactly your color. But only by Korean beauty standards, not by western standards. Most Koreans prefer their foundation to be a little lighter than their skin color to get that brightened look.

  • @masonjeq4261
    @masonjeq4261 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    For YesStyle, I think you hit the nail on the head when you talked about needing to find the jbeauty haircare over there. YesStyle has the best overall selection, not the best prices. It can still be a great location for someone who casually shops asian beauty to get their entire haul from one shop, or who prefers buying singular products from high end brands not carried by Style Korean/Stylevana or carried as individual products from Jolse (that has a larger focus on kits from luxury brands).
    I am interested in your review of Tirtir (I was interested but haven't purchased anything yet), and I totally understand what you're saying about dry skin but feel that's only a fully accurate description of non-luxury products. My understanding is that brands are much more segmented in Korea to appeal to specific demographics. Most of the products we talk about when we discuss k-beauty are at a lower price point and those brands are marketed to younger demographics. Given the humid climate and target demographic, I feel a lot of brands cater towards a client base without as many dry skin concerns. The luxury brands marketed towards an older on the other hand tend to have far more moisturizing options available (acknowledging that due to climate they may still be less rich than western alternatives). For this reason, even though I don't have the driest skin, I no longer try hardly any moisturizers or second cleansers from k-beauty other than luxury options.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That is exactly what I’ve been thinking as well! Given that the Chogongjin products are great for dry skin, and how mature skin typically (though not always) tends to be more dry, I can absolutely see how dry skin folks could prefer those lines instead. No matter their age!
      And yes, that really is yesstyle’s strength. They’ve even started to carry western brands, which is so very interesting to me. They’re doing well, and I think it’s because if you’re looking for a particular Asian beauty product, they WILL have it!

    Alice, I was very interested in Tirtir products, because I have dry skin, I also realized that they do not contain hyaluronic acid like all brands and I live in an extremely dry climate so I am even more interested. Regarding products for damaged hair, I have heard very good reviews of the DR.FORHAIR brand, which are called UNOVE, but they are quite expensive. I hope you are better than last week. A hug and have a nice day Alice 😘

    Some people prefer toner pads for not only convenience and quick application, but also because they're generally just easier to use!
    I personally don't really enjoy using masks and prefer to use the toner straight on my skin without DIY-masking or using toner pads. However, I have mobility issues and love toner pads for the days when my mobility is low. It's much easier for me to open, pull out and put on my face a pre wet toner pad, than it is for me to DIY a toner mask.
    I actually tried your method last night after shaving my face and while I did LOVE the results, it's not something I'll be able to do regularly or on my low-mobility days. My skin was glowing like the sun after though!

    I bought the etude lash serum on a whim. After 3 weeks, I was about to give up when I noticed that my lashes had grown really long and I had lashes the entire length of my lids. I think that just by improving the health of the lashes, they don't fall off early and so have time to grow longer. Happy with the serum and will keep using it. I also got the DHC lash serum but was not impressed.
    Another surprising find was the numbuzin no 5 vitamin concentrate serum. I wanted to try a brightening serum.and the ingredient list looked good. My skin has become a lovely even tone in a week !! Most people use it with the no5 toner pad but I went with only the serum.
    I am waiting for your prequel.review. They have added a Vit C and a sunscreen. Happy weekend!

    Thank you so much for introducing us to this new generation of sunscreen formula. I’ve been let down by so many sunscreens, including biore, Nivea, purito, innisfree, and skin1004. I knew sunscreen is essential, but all of them irritated my eyes. Every time I tried new sunscreens, I’m kinda expecting it to not work and me wasting my money. That’s until i tried haruharu sunscreen you recommended. It is the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried. It has a natural finish, hydrating, no white cast, perfect under makeup, and doesn’t irritate my eyes. I can finally wear sunscreen everyday, and know what base formula to look for when buying sunscreens.
    I’m also looking forward to try Tir Tir. I love the Mary and May cream essence, and it seems like Tir Tir offers the same level of nourishment, if not even better.
    In terms of the price of &Honey, I saw on Rakuten that they sell shampoo+conditioner set for around $18 😂 But even in Hong Kong, the shampoo is sold for $15. No idea why the price is so heavily inflated outside Japan.

    I'm excited about the TirTir products! I've also had the experience of ripping through moisturizing products so quickly when they're too light, and I feel terrible throwing away a hard plastic tub (non-recyclable) that I finished in 3 weeks.
    I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the hair products once you've had time to form opinions. I've used the viral Elizavecca protein treatment mask but nothing else K- or J-beauty.

    After bragging here about how quickly I was getting my Stylevana orders (8-10 days!) I ordered some sunscreen and one of my fav toners I was running out of about 6 days before Black Friday and then I divided my large haul on Black Friday into 2 orders. But ONE of the orders was $65 the other was $116. I do check the in stock button. The 2 small orders arrived one day after the other. The $65 order came 22 days after I ordered it. The $116 order arrived 45 DAYS AFTER!!!!!! I’d forgotten as I also ordered from YesStyle (they had some of my always reorder stuff that Stylevana was out of) and that also came at 22 days. After watching your videos I need some weird things like those wrist thingies for washing your face and headbands so I need to do another YesStyle order…… I may get the eye cream too as the ONLY PLACE I have dry skin is under my eyes (my eyelids are oily!!! - the only place on my body with oily skin).

    Western hair care can be a challange as drugstore is mostly dedigbed for damadged hair and therebisbstill too much silicone and related in it. that can be so heavy on straight hair especially if it's more on the fine side (blond is normally more fine). I personally love the pyunkang yul shampoo. Giovanni shampoos are fantastic too. not sure if you can get it in the US but I will send you link to have a look. these are very light weight but caring nontheless.

    Hi Alice, Not long ago, Mandy Davis MUA, who really knows makeup(!), did a review of the Unleashia foundation. She loves it. She does have a darker shade than you and she uses a brush, not the cushion. I don't know if that will make your shade more workable. Like others who have commented, the shade looks OK on you. I really like the Isehan Kiss Me Heroine mascara and remover. I’m on the second tubes of each. The mascara looks really natural, is SUPER WATERPROOF and helps hold a curl- but it’s like cement without the special remover. Not sure the exact amount of time but longer than the mascara- I completely finished first mascara and was well into the second tube before I needed to open a new remover- and a little goes a long way- one wandfull does both eyes just swipe a few times through lashes, brush my teeth for two minutes while it softens up then double cleanse.

    Haha! The appeal of toner pads to me is that i dont need to go through an entire huge bottle of toner IF i end up feeling meh about them xD with the toner pads (especially the ones who offer trial packs like One Day's You) i can spam them all over my face and body to get through it fast + the big pads help too. If i end up loving the feel of the toner pads tho, i'm def getting the full toner bottle .

    Excited to hear about the hair products and Tir Tir! I’ve been trying Korean hair products and love them all. The Tir Tir serum kind of looks like a reverse emulsion if you’ve tried those types of products? They tend to be runny, almost pasty, and can feel really emollient and almost occlusive.

    I added the TirTir toner to my Stylevana cart before ordering today because you hinted that it was amazing in a previous video. I have dry mature skin and rosacea. I will add the ampule to my wishlist. I love the Isntree Onion Newpair toner and serum, it is kind to reddened, sensitive skin and I think it helps with the inflammation.

    Question! Have you ever thought about getting prescription azelaic acid? I know you like the ingredient so I’m just curious your thoughts knowing a lot of studies have been done at the prescription percentages. I loved the peach slices one so much that I went to my derm to get it prescribed in a higher percentage and I find it works better but sadly it’s not as cosmetically elegant as the peach slices one.
    PS. You’re the reason I got into azelaic acid so thank you for that!!! ❤❤❤

    Alice! Hi! I’m glad you’re feeling better my friend :) it’s funny what you said about mispronunciations because listen I don’t want to be this person, but I am this person at least for one of the brands which is your favorite isntree I feel like it’s not hard to say and yet there’s this beauty product formulator on TikTok that says INNISTREE and we know that Innisfree exist so I just don’t like it 😂 but it doesn’t make me angry or anything I still watch her content, it’s just a little annoying.
    Wow, I was actually not around for the disaster of the peel-off mask. However, I have gone back since following your channel and I’ve watched all of your old skin care videos so I do know what you’re referring to.. I also had a horrible time doing a charcoal peel off mask 🥴it was painful!!! No thanks I’ll take a creamy hydrating mask instead please

      I might have deleted it as it was a limited edition collection they did. Actually it might have been the last skincare release wet and wild ever did
      Ooh good point. It does seem a lot of toner pads include PHA too, while if there is a liquid toner companion, it won’t have the PHA (both this and Anua are good examples!)

      Yes! Exactly! Other than that like you said, I don’t see the point in getting a toner pad if it’s the same thing as the toner but I think it kind of boils down to lazy skin care 😂 just slapping a toner pad on your face instead of making your own.

      Tbh, I think it’s hard for any of us skincare channels to control things down to one product; instead, it’s more likely that we figure out the elements that help us tackle skin concerns. All yours!” In fact I was just decluttering my skincare stash of all the products that didn’t work for me late last year so I can send them to my mom. About once every two months, I send her a curated box of samples and makeup and skincare that didn’t work out (nothing gross like doe foot products but things like body butters I think she might like more!). For Christmas, I bought her a ton of Lisa Eldridge makeup (every year I get her LE since I showed her LE about 10 years ago - it’s tradition now) and then brought like… a drawer of sanitized lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes I thought she’d like.

      @AliceintheRabbitHole. Yes. Commonly used “scented” (a.k.a.”fragranced”) oils like tea tree, lavender, sandalwood, peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon verbena, sage, rosemary, etc, are common irritants for those w/ sensitive skin. They can cause breakouts, rashes or damage to the skin barrier (depending on amounts). Thanks for listing the ingredients. I appreciate the fact that you actually discuss the ingredients. Unfortunately, I view YT via mobile device and can’t read many on screen lists. Oh well. Maybe Tir Tir will make an unscented version of their products someday.

I wonder they are probably made for that super straight strong asian hair rather than western hair and no one gets all the balayage and highlights and all the other bleaching and fashion colours we do here. I found that the haircare was not as nourishing as brands like Olaplex and Amika, felt very drugstore-ish.
