I owned a Piaggio MP3 400 for a while. I loved the 2 wheels up front for extra stability and the locking front suspension meaning you didn't have to put your feet down when stopped. I now own a Burgman 650 and since it has 2 wheels it is a different experience. The CVT is smooth when in auto mode although for those who want more control and love to push buttons there is a manual mode and as mentioned in the video a power button for extra grunt at over taking. Out on the highway it can hold its own with other bigger bikes sitting on 110kms/hour (the speed limit in most of Australia) easily. It is at home on the city streets as it is on the twisties and bends. The screen can be adjusted while riding by a button on the right switch cluster and the mirrors can be folded in for lane splitting - if that is legal where you live or to avoid damage while parked - there is a button on the left switch cluster for this. Plenty of storage in the dash with two latched areas for phones etc and a lockable one with a 12 volt cigarette lighter style socket for charging things. There is also room under the seat for 2 full face helmets. The footboards for both rider and pillion are wide and long with 3 feet positions for rider - almost fully extended like highway pegs on a cruiser. I think an extra gear would make for better fuel economy. I say this as I also own a Kawasaki Voyager 1700 which even allowing for a bigger tank has 6 speeds - the last an over drive for the highway this coupled with cruise control means I get more kms/litre from it than the Burgman. Take a test ride and forget any bike v scooter stuff just enjoy the 2 wheels wind in your face ride.
Thank for the shout out buddy. TH-cam didn't put this vid in my feed. I saw it in recommended videos. YT is screwy sometimes. Glad you liked the ride. I got the 2012 because they totally re-designed the scoot in 2013 so all my "Farkles" didn't fit. Good review!
I just bought the 400 version brand new. What would you say is the high points and low points of the 650. When i upgrade in a couple years my gf will get the 400 and i the 650. How was acceleration? That adjustable windscreen looked really cool!
Well, personally for me the best thing about the 650 is it's ability to tour, like a Honda Goldwing. Can't really say anything bad about it, once your driving it becomes light and easy, good plan though for the girl friend, both of you can tour together, that would be nice.
Just picked one of these up dirt cheap, Unfortunately the previous owner hit a curb and appears to have bent the front forks. Still able to ride it but cant safety it until thats fixed. Gonna be a great long distance cruiser for me and the wife when its all done.
poisedonis Me too, I still have my GSXR to ride but it sucks for passengers and at least for me its not a long distance bike. I get cramped and find anything more then a hour its not good for. Im so looking forward to having the Burgman on the road.
poisedonis ok, thank you, the Burgman 650 2013, 2014, 2015 for my opinion is the ultimate maxi scooter. and as for the video I am very well. even though I am from Venezuela because I follow closely the burgman because in my country it is impossible to buy one. I wonder what price can have a new 650 burgman in your country.

Well, you can always buy a used one for a decent price, that has low kilometers, maybe around 6000 Canadian dollars for a good used one
