Great and lovely hand playing in this occasion by The Cure, never disappointed. Man, please do Night Shift of S. The Banshees, I'd adore to watch that!
Mitch! So glad I found this video! Possibly my favorite song from my favorite band. I too am thrilled I just got to see them on their 2023 tour. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. Just astonishing how Robert's voice hasn't changed in 45 years. I used another guy's TH-cam video here to learn the main riffs of the song but he didn't really do it in the actual order as you do here. If there's any chance you could walk us through all the riffs you play in the correct order and explain the fingering that would be phenomenal. In any event thanks so much for this beautiful tutorial. ❤️🖤👏
It’s my fave song by them, too! I also saw them on their most recent tour in Seattle last month. And yes, you’re 100% right! It’s truly remarkable how Robert Smith hasn’t lost his voice. He can still sing EVERYTHING in the same key, he can hit every high note, he’s not pitchy… Truly lucky, he is-that he has retained such an amazing voice. Just compare him w/ someone like Siouxsie Sioux-whose voice is totally RIP gone. And nice! Yeah, I’ll consider maybe doing a tutorial for this-as a few other people have requested I do one. I probably won’t get to it this week… But be sure to subscribe to my channel for updates-and to see when I DO post the tutorial. Cheers for watching!
Thanks much! I’m not in front of my computer currently… But I play in Apple’s Logic Pro X DAW using their preset effects, pedals, and amps. This tone here in this video I crafted as my “Cure” tone. I have it saved as a go-to whenever I’m doing a Disintegration album cover or want to play/sound like The Cure. The amp preset is basically a Vox combo amp. The effects used are delay, flanger, chorus, phaser, reverb, & overdrive - I think…

Mitch where the hell do u live? I need to come over and be taught how you play all these Cure covers... I'd literally pay that honestly, lol.. Great covers though man, I'm jealous. What I would give to be able to play through Disintegration like this
Thanks so much, hahah! I appreciate it. I live in Portland, OR. I actually just saw The Cure live last night in Seattle. I was hoping they’d play this song; but unfortunately they didn’t.
Original-model Schecter Robert Smith signature-model Ultracure guitar. It’s the one Robert Smith plays live from 2004-2016 before Schecter redesigned it and made the body smaller + added a Bigsby vibrato. Robert Smith uses the new models now.
Yes! I’ve been planning to & am currently working on it. I actually made one in the past, started uploading it, but canceled the upload because I ultimately wasn’t happy w/ the video. I plan to remake the video here soon. So stay tuned to my channel - and subscribe so you don’t miss the video! (It should be out within the next week or two).
@@Epilepi89 Unfortunately, I’ve not yet made it. I DO indeed plan to make the video. I’ve just not been motivated to make it… But I’m going to try in the next couple of weeks to make it. So be sure to subscribe so you can see when I post it!
No… Perry wasn’t in the band when Disintegration was released in 1989. Perry didn’t join until after their 1992 album Wish-and closer to their 1995 album Wild Mood Swings. This guitar part I’m playing is a mix of Bob’s & Porl’s, I suppose!

Awesome job and good tone.
Nice playing and nice song choice! 👏👏👏 Love this stars and planets on your fretboard!
Thank you! And yes, me too. That's one of the many reasons why I adore this guitar.

Yeah, I miss the kiss of treachery
The shameless kiss of vanity
The soft and the black and the velvety
Up tight against the side of me
And mouth and eyes and heart all bleed
And run in thickening streams of greed
As bit by bit, it starts the need
To just let go, my party piece
Yeah, I miss the kiss of treachery
The shameless kiss before I feed
The stench of a love for younger meat
And the sound it makes when it cuts in deep
The holding up on bended knees
The addiction of duplicities
As bit by bit, it starts the need
To just let go, my party piece
But I never said I would stay to the end
I leave you with babies and hoping for secrecy
Screaming like this in the hope of sincerity
Scream with me over and over and over
I leave you with photographs, pictures of trickery
Stains on the carpet and stains on the scenery
Songs about happiness murmured in dreams
And we both of us knew how the ending would be
So it's all come back round to breaking apart again
Breaking apart like I'm made up of glass again
Making it up behind my back again
Making it afraid for the fear of sleep again
Pushed in deep to bare bone again
Take him outside like he's all on his own again
Round and round and round, it's coming apart again
Over and over and over
Now that I know that I'm breaking to pieces
I'll pull out my heart and I'll feed it to anyone
Crying for comfort, crocodiles cry
For the love of the crowd and the three cheers from everyone
Dropping through sky, through the glass of the roof
Through the roof of your mouth, through the mouth of your eye
Through the eye of the needle, it's easier for me
To get closer to heaven than ever feel whole again
I never said I would stay to the end
I'd leave you with babies and hoping for secrecy
Screaming like this in the hole of sincerity
Scream with me over and over and over
I leave you with photographs, pictures of trickery
And stains on the carpet and stains on the memory
Songs about happiness murmured in dreams
And we both of us knew how the end always is
How the end always is
How the end always is
How the end always is
How the end always is
How the end always is
