A fuse link glued back together?! Great work fixing this. Disapointing to hear that none of your predecessors thought to test the wiring to the components, & threw parts at it with bad wires.

Unfortuneately, panel beaters are very bad auto electricians. I've seen similar cases before from panel beater damage
