Rejuvenating a Vintage Gem

Today, I have a watch bought by my girlfriend. She surprised me with it and I've been working hard to bring it back to life. Ultimately, I had to remove the second hand as it became entangled with the hour hand.
Anker Uhrenfabrik (Anker Watch Factory) was a German watch manufacturer established in 1846 in Pforzheim, Germany. They were known for producing high-quality and affordable pocket watches and wristwatches. Anker was a significant contributor to the German watchmaking industry, particularly in the early 20th century.
However, Anker faced financial difficulties in the 1970's due to the quartz crisis, which significantly impacted the mechanical watch industry. The company eventually ceased operations in the late 1970's.
