This is what TH-cam should be all about. Not people just having a rant or young girls pouting at the camera. People show casing their skills. Very impressive. I’m a retired plasterer that served a 6 year apprenticeship. I started at 15 and became a tradesman at 21, a proper apprenticeship . Today you can go on a weekend training course and become a tradesman. Bravo to you sir you have an amazing skill & I hope you pass your knowledge on to a deserving young person. 👏👏👏👏
Very, very impressive. And not that I dislike the colored glass, but there's something about the plain glass - especially the gorgeous textures of the antique glass - that I love. It's classic and understated, while at the same time being rapturous. Beautiful job!!
In answer to your query of whether or not the long format was boring, I missed most of the captions because I was too engrossed in watching what you were doing! I love the long format. Much more educational and inspiring.
I hope the recipients of this stunning window truly appreciate the complexity and skill of this challenging beautiful work and that you are rewarded generously for your efforts ☺
What a masterpiece of a stained glass window! The textures, wow, what hard cuts and placing the cane so the seams lay just perfectly camouflaged! You are a Master of stained glass window making Sir!!!✨💞✨
WOW!! You have given me a totally new insight into lead glass projects. I had no idea what went into making a project like this. It is absolutely beautiful! ❤❤❤
Thank you for the longer video, your content is so interesting that the longer video is a pleasure to watch. I hope, in future, you will shoot in landscape format which is more suitable to TH-cam. It amazes me that you are able to work with small glass pieces without blood dripping from your hands.
So please to know that there are still people upholding this beautiful art well done don't stop doing it encourage the younger generations to take up this art.
I work for a company that makes a higher end window and doors. I make custom grills (sdl) that are installed on the outside of the window. The 1.5 years I've been there was the 1st time I've seen a unit come through there like this. Really striked my interest in the process of how it is put together. Really wish they had a department in their facility for this. Amazing work. Lots of time, dedication, and patience. Thank you for sharing your work!
You do absolutely fantastic and beautiful work. I love stain glass and the beauty it adds to any area. The glass work you did in this video is awesome and would instill a level of sophistication to any area it would grace. You are very skilled and talented.
I have been a glass artist for 30+ years. I make a lot of etched, carved and painted glass. I have made some leaded glass. Your skills are really solid, quick too. Nice work. 👍
Que belleza tu trabajo!!!! Dios te bendiga y bendiga tus manos. QUEEEE. TRABAJO!!!!! Te felicito. Gracias por mostrar la belleza de tu arte. Te abrazo desde Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍🙏
Beautiful......make it look so easy. My mom made a stained glass window for the front door, after the original one broke, because the wind slammed the door closed....it took her weeks to do it, but the end result was beautiful !
Omg I had no idea this is how stained glass windows are made. I have a whole new appreciation for this craft/skill. I can't believe how tedious this is and how much care you have to exercise to break the glass pieces. Just amazing
Какая красота ! Не только сам продукт,-само создание этого творения ! Трудяга человек , а руки- сколько осколков стекла ,,прошло,, через них ?!... Замечательные работы- глаз радуют !
Your skill is admirable and the window design is perfect for a victorian house. I'm in awe, you make it look so simple, like a paint-by-number kit, and I know it isn't. Thank you for sharing your talents and letting us see your beautiful work! 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks to remind me my youth ! My father made stained glass for 50 years. I remember that enact nails and knife shape ! I’ve never seen him using cement though. He was pushing in mastic with his fingers then brush. At the end he was applying a patina to give that color as you did.
Thanks for the feed back. I normally post shorter (more snappy) videos on my other social media channels so I'm hoping longer videos like this are interesting to TH-cam viewers.. Its a bit of a gamble!
@@JanLightLeadedDesigns Finally a longer video! i often thought that the videos were way too short. Especially the glass cutting and leading process. So.. Thanks for a longer version. :)
not bored at all...fascinated would be the word...We performed a 3-year restoration to an 1880s Victorian a few years back. I love all Victorian Architecture and the stained glass that is associated with that period. good job...love the content.
gorgeous work! I work with stained glass, but all mine are straight cuts for windchimes, edges ground and a hole drilled under mineral oil or water. This is masterful work!
Very nice work making the solder joints. Coming from the era of making soldered repair to electronic boards and devices, I know from experience how on point you have to be to butt weld two pieces of lead. Touch it a little too long and the joint melts away. Have even used lead with different melt points to counter that event. Very nice! Thanks!
Hi Jim, I've trained so many over the years. Unfortunately none of them stuck with it for the long haul.. In reality there's alot more work involved in a project like this than these short videos show! These days I stick to being busy making projects for clients and showing these videos across all the social media platforms to shed a light on the craft. I leave the 'class running teaching' to others 🤜💥🤛
Wow, this is stunning and can appreciate the amount of work and time that goes into this craft! I've done a course in stained glass lampshades and thoroughly enjoyed it, but never got as far as making a panel for a door or window.

@@JanLightLeadedDesigns I'm a 57 yrs young lady my nickname is Aussie I've started late & you really show great close ups, which is great for a visual learner 😊
Wow....I can tell that design took a lot of patience to build, but that window will look great in the interior transom frame! Nice thing about old stained glass - it doesn't have an expiration date.
@LightLeadedDesigns maybe the formulations have changed over time to produce glass with a different behaviour? I'm a potter and glaze tech - so I'm basically creating glasses that are used to coat clay. The different formulations and characteristics that can be achieved are pretty much endless...
The plain "color" glass, to me, is more beautiful than all the colored glass, combined. Well done.
It's a nice change the next few projects are like an explosion in a paint factory 🧡💛💚💜💙
