Hardly professional level. With the way they swap between 3rd and first person, makes in incredibly unimmersive and barely something worth following. You calling these cats “Professional” is like calling your 12 year old nephew an esports professional bc he’s in Silver in League Of Legends.
It's December 31, 2023 and I am VERRRYYYY late to the party on this. I decided that one of my DM goals would be to run a Curse of Strahd campaign or something similar for some friends but I wanted to see how other DMs ran it beforehand. Love the first episode already.
Caoimhe's phone went off as soon as she mentioned the Thieves' Guild. They're always watching.
I love the parody element that having experienced DMs play this adventure brings!

I love how telling horror stories by the campfire sets the mood and is foreshadowing the story. I like the idea greatly.
Only a couple minutes in and all I can think is, "Oh Amity, you dear, sweet summer child. Barovia is going to break you."

I’m late to the party, but I’m enjoying the ride. The 1st episode shows the complexity of the characters along with the level of detailed horror that is Barovia. Off to a magnificent start.

They are All DMs, so they are All well versed in the lore and tamber of D&D and Curse of Strahd... Very well done...
I've always found it difficult to immerse myself in streamed D&D, even though I try to. With that out of the way, you guys are incredible. Every player, as well as the Dungeon Master, is amazing to listen to. The tone and mood, which to me is extremely important for CoS, is equally amazing. You are all most certainly up there with the best the internet has to offer. I almost want to turn the lights out, light candles and enjoy your game over a mug of ale. And maybe I will. Fantastic stuff guys.
My feelings exactly. I think your decision not to show the faces of the players worked really well.
Normally, DnD streams are at least 50% about the players, which for me breaks immersion. Your stream is almost all about the roleplaying. Even though I know the module well, I'm looking forward to the rest.
I also love the knowledge that all these players know full well what they are about to encounter, but go out of their way to roleplay that they don't know.

Thank you! That was the combined efforts of our graphic artist (player Jackofficer, who designed the overlay) and our producer (Ziopliukas, who commissioned a Discord script to switch out the portrait based on who's speaking). Very glad to hear it helps make the stream more enjoyable :)

Just finished reading the book, so I wanted to see how a playthrough ran and this is one of the only "by the book" versions I could find. I have to say...it seems like the players were instructed to "bring a spooky story" for the intro session....a brilliant idea!
I've always wanted to play an RP-heavy DnD game, but in my years I've never had a chance to find a group that was into RP. I must admit...I was rolling my eyes a little first and wanting to "just get on with it".
That being said...even though I'm a CoS novice I can already see how this completely "changes the game" with this module. It is hard to tear myself away!
Side note...I've always been a fan of characters...well, not "hiding" their classes. But not being summarized by their class. The whole "Hey, my name is Threemolo, and I'm a Cleric" always seems weird to me. I like how this group handled that. :-)
Tell me about it. Im having fun figuring out thier classes based on the features and skills they use. So far Coimhe barb, amity bard, Aerthrender ranger.

I always have a hard time watching games with this format, where it's Roll20 and we don't see the people but this one... they're all hypnotizing when they speak I'm loving it.
I have no idea what the players look like, but I think that is for the best - really helps with immersion. Great, simplified layout, and wonderful job with the voice acting and roleplaying!
You guys have all my love and affection and respect. I'll be honest when I say this is perhaps the single best campaign stream I've ever watched and it is such a lovely party of people that are all just so good. I don't care that you all 'aren't professionals', Dragna, you might as well be.

Just a little under an hour in, super excited to watch Dragna and the rest go through CoS RAW! All of the players are great, and Metrion so far is my favorite! Lovely voice

What I love about this so far is the story aspect. As a DM currently running CoS on Roll20, I feel there is a negative side to using the maps and tokens, etc. which I did not foresee. That negative side being bright colors often (which doesn't fit a CoS theme) and a board game-like feel that at times takes away from TOM story-ish gameplay. So I am really enjoying listening to this while I work. It's like listening to a radio theater story somewhat.
I'm just starting and as some aleady said in the comments, I'm already so hooked!❤ I love the party... Everyone's voices or ways of speaking is really soothing to me. I love the ambiance... Dagnacarta, thank you for your guides and posts on reddit, you're really helping me run the module ❤(I'm currently 6 sessions in) I'll really listen to the full campaign and it's a rare thing, can't really stay focused long enough, but here, I feel like it's really comfy❤

This is easily one of the best d&d streams I have seen. I am currently running a CoS campaign for my friends using Mr. DragnaCarta's Reloaded series and all my players are absolutely loving it. Seeing all these wonderfully talented people roleplay is fantastic to watch. I love everything about this series.

Was a bit of a slow start for me, but after I got into it I began to really enjoy the mood and feeling of the stream. I like the group and excited to get into this campaign myself, so this is me living vicariously for now haha

I saw this posted about in the discord and finally decided to check it out and wow this is incredible! Totally different than other streams I listen to, but great in it's own way. Super jealous of DragnaCarta - I'm sure any DM would love sitting back and letting their PC's RP for an hour without any prompting! ;) Keep it up!
Can you put on the automatic subtitles? I know that they're not great, but I'm italian and while I'm really enjoying what I manage to understand, it'll be easier if I'll have a written trace to follow! Anyway, thanks to share your campaign, I'll wait for the next episodes :D

and boring as hell. Realmsmith's campaign is so much better as they have a wide variety of different characters. All these players sound the same and they play the fricking same "sensitive and intelligent" elf character. Total fail.
@@meithstorm7662 ratio my guy. If you don't like good roleplay or recognize the difference between the characters (theyre not even all elves. there are tiefling too) personalities, maybe you don't deserve to?
I found this entertaining and well RP’d. That being said, the only real nitpick I had was players asking for rolls constantly….state what you want to do and let the DM decide that! Don’t undermine him and self GM it so much.
Love this, thank you. You all are fantastic! I just have to know, at 1:36:00 how much you struggled to NOT say "Old Svalich Road"? Can't say how many times I've stared at a map and blurted a name the players are not supposed to know! Not that it matters with a group of DMs, but still!

Like everything it’s just practice. I DM for two parties.
Group one is new to RP and I find I often have to nudge them into it.
Group two has been RPing for years, and I find they role play and entertain themselves so effortlessly I occasionally have to cut in and interrupt them to advance the session, otherwise they’ll practically banter to each other for hours.

I should relisten to this. I’m starting a new CoS game soon (which was why I first listened to it) and I tend to run pretty close to RAW, so it’s great inspiration as well as having great players and a great DM.

Thank you! And aside from the scary stories at the beginning (which the players were told to prepare, but hadn't shared with one another before this session), and the fact that the players are former/current CoS DMs, I can confirm that the game was 100% unscripted.
Just started listening, its exciting to hear this is going to be a by the book play, as a CoS Dm myself, the only thing I am not looking forward to are the book written endings for Ireena. Here for the ride regardless.
I mean potatoes are pretty filling it I think full of a lot of protein and you’re gonna get some good good from the meat so meat and potatoes. Stew could be filling and energizing

Heeyyy~ I'm a bit sad there are no subtitles. :') My english hearing isn't 100% yet... I'm usually doing something else while listening to D&D too, so they help me a lot when I get distracted and mishear something. That said, is there any way to contribute in making them? I would love to help to subtitle this series in English and Brazilian Portuguese (my native tongue). There's a lack of good D&D channels with subtitles PT-BR, and I for one know for a fact that many southern Brazilians absolutely adore gothic horror (World of Darkness is VERY popular here). Thank you for sharing your game with us! The characters' artworks are absolutely lovely. :) I'll be watching.
Hi, and thanks so much for watching! Unfortunately, TH-cam removed the ability for viewers to add subtitles last year, and we don't have enough time or manpower to manually add subtitles ourselves. It's a real shame, and I personally wish YT would restore the ability for viewers to add subs to make sure that content continues to be accessible and enjoyable by everyone. Still, I hope you continue to enjoy the show!
In addition to what Dragna said, YT does not add automated subtitles for very long videos. I think most (but not all) have at least automated subtitles.

⚰🗡Dm currently running CoS, encountered the many grey areas of the 5e module book and was at a loss till i listened to No Fun's youtube channel and found yours and Mandy's Kind of "Ted" talk all about CoS. It inspired me.

How did you manage to keep from interrupting one another? Was there simply everyone sort of holding back and allowing pauses in their speech, or did you have visual cues about who was about to speak? I notice a lot more long lines than usual - was it scripted then?
Aside from the campfire stories (which I asked the players to prepare in secret beforehand), everything was unscripted!

@atombrain111 yes, it is a trragedy, in a horrific campaign setting.That's the point, a dark, gritty, depressing world where ultimately all hope has been extinguished and the best you can do is stay alive. The players and I are having a blast running it as such; the way it is meant to be played.

I find the casts inability to stick to a point of view unbearable. The swap between third person and talking about their player, to them talking as their player is nearly seamless. It can be the same person talking, “metrion does this… wow that’s a great introduction you had!”… same sequence of sentences, swapping between 3rd person and 1st person like it’s nothing. I slogged through nearly half of the first episode but I can’t continue, it’s unbearable and terribly incoherent
