Thank you for the shoutout Randy. Paris is one of my favorite destinations as well. Dale Watson is some serious honky tonk. Never heard of The Ugly Ducklings before.
No problem Dave. I'm really enjoying watching your channel. Paris was my first European destination which may have helped it in the pecking order and I have now been there three times. I'm not much of a fan of most modern country but there are a few folks like Dale Watson keeping that honky tonk country alive. I had never heard of The Ugly Ducklings either until Glen Kellaway introduced me to them.
I could have picked an artist that I don't have in the collection that are even less appealing for me. It was quite a concert and the introduction to the artist by one of my friends who became a lifelong fan.
I forgot to include Turkey, so it should have been 38 countries. I've been to Paris three times but I would always like to include it anytime I go back to France. It was a tough prompt as I don't really like to diss any artist, so I chose ones that I have in the collection and will keep but I don't really have a connection. I know there are artists that are not in the collection that I have no interest in at all and could have chosen. I did pick a Toronto area band, so it is no surprise that you know them. Cheers.
Last count was 37 countries Randy! The pyramids of Egypt is a destination I’d like too. Plus, you went to Brockville which is super cool. 😉 No faith in George Michael. You’re probably the third contestant entry to mention Nirvana! I never got them either. I’m a Soundgarden guy. Nice C&W selections. “if it ain’t on the menu”…I love baseball too. I’m a bandwagon jumper with the Bills. Patty made me do it. I know Dale Watson, but don’t have any. There’s another Country guy Gene Watson who you probably know of as well. So many Watsons! 😂 If you win the contest Randy, we’re not bringing you a cheesecake, but if you come to Buffalo in July, we’ll set you up. Your concert memory was priceless. It sounds like seeing Jeff Bridges’ character in the early scenes of Crazy Heart. Very entertaining video Randy! ✌️
I actually messed up my count and forgot to add Turkey, so it is 38. Brockville, the Paris of Ontario! I do have several Soundgarden albums as well as Temple of the Dog. I do like my old-time country. I do have several Gene Watson albums and there's also Doc Watson. If the Chiefs lose to the Bills, I will be rooting for the Bills over the NFC. The Dale Watson concert was probably the one that sticks out the most for me. I have seen him quite a few times. I hope that I can make it up there in July. Cheers.
Hi Randy. Great entry. I count Scotland, have to since I count Wales. I loved Scotland, last visit was in 19, traveled by train from Edinburg to Peterhead and visited BrewDog pubs and their brewery all along the coast. I have been to 33 countries ☺️ Miss baseball now... Best of luck, cheers from Morten
I actually misspoke as I have been to 38 countries as I forgot Turkey. I made it to Norway in 2021. I am looking forward to Scotland as I am a big lover of castles. Thanks for watching.
I have not travelled a huge amount but Scotland would definitely be on my list to visit. A cousin of mine made it to Machu Pichu a year or two back and my wife's uncle nearly visited the pyramids about a year ago, he was in Ethiopia but could not get a flight to Egypt so they went to Greece and Rome instead. Never really got into Wham or George Michael but the recent documentary made me reappraise them somewhat. I'm in the same boat with Nirvana, got their CD's as they seem important to have in the collection but never particularly related to them. I do like Come As You Are though. I've heard of the Ugly Ducklings, got a couple of other things on the Yorkville label including a various artists compilation from 1967 called Yorkville Evolution, I think the Ducklings are included on that. Cheers!
I do love seeing castles, so Scotland should be a great visit. It is a destination picked by my brother and we are trying to get a couple of cousins to go as well. I had a friend that went to Machu Pichu last year and the pictures he posted looked amazing. It was a strange prompt to answer, so I decided to choose something in the collection for whom I couldn't really get a connection rather that someone I had no interest exploring. The Ugly Ducklings were on the Yorktown label originally, but this was a reissue on another label. Have a great week.
37 countries....that pretty impressive! I've only been to three, the States, Canada, England (as a stop-over to change airplanes to fly on to....) Italy. I must say that I can get people not getting into Nirvana....I'm not saying I understand it, but I do get it. I'm a big grunge fan, and I do love Nirvana, but I still think you are pretty cool. LOL I'm already subbed to Mfidelity's channel and I wholeheartedly agree with you that anyone who shows Jimmy Dale Gilmore on their channel needs to be highly recognized. I actually met Gilmore once at a company party down in Amarillo, TX where him and The Flatlanders put on a private concert for us. The next day was Vendor's Day and the Gilmore, Joe Ely and Butch Hancock were there signing albums, and I actually go to say a few words to them all. Great bunch of guys! I lived very close to Scarborough, Ontario, but I've never heard of the Ugly Ducklings. Beautiful vinyl though. Great response and good luck in the contest!
I'm not a huge grunge fan but I do have several albums by Soundgarden plus a couple of others. I don't really like these types of questions because I have already seen several entries that list artists that I really like as ones they don't. I won't give up on Nirvana as I will keep it in the collection. That's cool that you got to meet Jimmie Dale Gilmore plus the other Flatlanders. I have several albums by all three artists. More A Legend Than A Band is a great Flatlanders album. I didn't know about The Ugly Ducklings until Glen Kellaway introduced them to me. Thanks for watching.
Hi Randy!!1 Great entry to Mike's contest and hope he reaches his goal....... Paris is a city i really need to visit again, btw i can highly recommend Egypt as your next visit and i also know a guy there, he's an awesome guide. you know what i have not heard to Nirvana in years, for some reason i got tired of them......cheers and be well
It seems that I am usually choosing the travel destinations, so my brother is choosing this year and he said it is Scotland. I will get back with you if I ever make it to Egypt. I usually try and give every artist a chance, so I don't really like to criticize what could be someone else's favorite. I still have Nirvana in the collection and may give them another shot someday.
I've been to France four times and there is so much more of the country that I would like to see. I'm glad that we agree on those two acts. Cepeda was indeed #30 and he actually ended his career with the Kansas City Royals and went in the Hall of Fame the same year as George Brett through the veteran's committee. Cheers.

Great vacation choices. I have been to Rome but I didn't really spend much time in Naples. I have most of R.E.M.'s albums but we can't all like the same people. I would have liked to see Dylan and The Band around that time period. I remember that 1967 Red Sox team and the World Series with the Cardinals. I don't think I know the wrestler. Great seeing your choices.

I can’t say I was ever much of a George Michael fan either. Your concert memory here was great! Sounds like a fun night 😁
I could have picked an artist that I don't have in the collection that are even less appealing for me. It was quite a concert and the introduction to the artist by one of my friends who became a lifelong fan.
Wow, you have travelled! Paris is awesome. I think I agree about George Michael, but the video for Freedom is fire! 🔥Hey, the Ugly Ducklings!

nice job!, interesting albums! hope you get to your bucket list of vacations someday!
My biggest problem with my bucket list picks is getting someone else to go.

Hey Randy! Been to France, we really enjoyed it too. Agree with both acts you don't like. I loved Orlando Cepeda too. # 30, correct? Good luck!
