He ended up scoring 18+ goals and created 10+ assists. Rooney in for Ruud imo. Rooney helped the team in so many other ways which will clearly improve the team

I would replace Cantona with Rooney, and have Rooney and Ruud, Rooney was a far better player than Cantona lets not beat around the bush, he was better in every aspect, Ferguson's and man united fan's overate Cantona, Rooney could drop into midfield and play and make things happen as well as having that touch of magic,and he could score goals

Personally I'd go: Schemiechel Irwin Stam Vidic Evra Keane Scholes Robson Van Persie Ronaldo Van Nistlerooy Big Pete in goal, enough said. Edwin great goalkeeper but big Pete would always be my preference, Rock solid defense, Vidic and Stam would put the fear of God in anyone. Ferdinand, Pally and even Brucey unlucky and you could probably susbstitue any of them and not weaken the team. The only other notable mention in defense who a lot of people forget about is Paul McGrath, who injury free and in a good place mentally was easily the best of the lot, but sadley that was rarely the case with big Paul. As Fergie said after he completely shut down one of the best attacking sides we ever had playing on one knee for Derby as a 37 year old chronic alcoholic, "what can you say? What a player Paul McGrath should have been." If Roberto Baggio says your the best defender he ever played against, well nothing more needs to be said. Fullbacks, Evra bombing down the left and Irwin bombing down the right (he was right footed even though he played left back) Obviously Gary unlucky and Paul Parker was a great player. but I just think Denis and Patrice were all around better players. That midfield you could put against anyone, two captains and complete midfielders in Keane and Robson and the technical wizardery of Scholesy. Ince, Carrick, obviously great players, but no one else was getting near that midfield from the Fergie era. Definitely the easiest part of the team to pick. The wings are tricky, obviously Giggsy and Becks very unlucky, but I just think Van Persie cutting in from the right on that left foot would score so many goals and of course Ronaldo, well nothing more needs to be said there Striker is the hardest position to pick was tempted to go for Rooney or Cantona, because they would link the play so well, and offered so much in their all around game, but I'd go for Ruud because the midfield is so good they'd dominate the ball in any game anyway, so you'd be playing on the front foot most of the time and he was the best pure goal scorer in Fergies time. In that team he would get you 40-50 goals a season every year, something I don't think any of the other Fergie era striker would do. Andy cole was maybe capable of it, because his movement was so good. but he missed a lot of chances and could blow hot and cold which Ruud rarely did.

To my opinion, we need someone who can deliver passes to the 2 forwards and also having the ability to shoot if needs be. So yeah Beckham is the man. If you go three forwards like Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo era then Ronaldo is the better choice.

Funny Rooney and Cole won the CL while the other two did not. Arguably ruud and Eric both deserved one for their efforts but Rooney should make the cut into any Manchester United team. For me he’s uniteds best ever player through consistency alone

Rock solid defense, Vidic and Stam would put the fear of God in anyone. Ferdinand, Pally and even Brucey unlucky and you could probably susbstitue any of them and not weaken the team.
The only other notable mention in defense who a lot of people forget about is Paul McGrath, who injury free and in a good place mentally was easily the best of the lot, but sadley that was rarely the case with big Paul. As Fergie said after he completely shut down one of the best attacking sides we ever had playing on one knee for Derby as a 37 year old chronic alcoholic, "what can you say? What a player Paul McGrath should have been." If Roberto Baggio says your the best defender he ever played against, well nothing more needs to be said.
Fullbacks, Evra bombing down the left and Irwin bombing down the right (he was right footed even though he played left back) Obviously Gary unlucky and Paul Parker was a great player. but I just think Denis and Patrice were all around better players.
That midfield you could put against anyone, two captains and complete midfielders in Keane and Robson and the technical wizardery of Scholesy. Ince, Carrick, obviously great players, but no one else was getting near that midfield from the Fergie era. Definitely the easiest part of the team to pick.
The wings are tricky, obviously Giggsy and Becks very unlucky, but I just think Van Persie cutting in from the right on that left foot would score so many goals and of course Ronaldo, well nothing more needs to be said there
Striker is the hardest position to pick was tempted to go for Rooney or Cantona, because they would link the play so well, and offered so much in their all around game, but I'd go for Ruud because the midfield is so good they'd dominate the ball in any game anyway, so you'd be playing on the front foot most of the time and he was the best pure goal scorer in Fergies time. In that team he would get you 40-50 goals a season every year, something I don't think any of the other Fergie era striker would do. Andy cole was maybe capable of it, because his movement was so good. but he missed a lot of chances and could blow hot and cold which Ruud rarely did.
It's mad to pick Rud over Rooney

Changes: Beckham instead of Ronaldo because Ronaldo played more as an attacking winger so he might go personal at times despite having two forwards. To my opinion, we need someone who can deliver passes to the 2 forwards and also having the ability to shoot if needs be. So yeah Beckham is the man. If you go three forwards like Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo era then Ronaldo is the better choice.
