Why do DILs continue calling their abusive MIL “Mom”? Mom is a term of endearment that they don’t deserve.
I will never understand the "feeling" that when your kids move out -- particularly when they get married -- that you are somehow "losing" them and you have to compete with their partner. How twisted, narcissistic, and stupid must one be?
I mean, the whole point of parenting is to create adults who move out...LOL
My mother was so happy when my brother get married and have had a wonderful relationship with her DIL and my too.
So right..really sick…we ‘gained’ a beautiful daughter in law😁
I call these people “leftover mothers”. They make their whole identity “mother”, and when the kid grows up and doesn’t need to be raised any longer she has no purpose, so she tries to stay in the same role.
