You, like many others, make the mistake of thinking that the refs cheating means rigging a whole game from start to finish. But that is wrong. You only need to tip the scales in favor of one team slightly. Throwing flags at just the right time to give them a first down or an extra down is enough to push the outcome in their favor.
People don’t realize this is exactly right. I remember watching the bills face off against the chiefs, bills moved the ball down the field but as soon as they got to chiefs 30 all of a sudden flag after flag after flag…pushing them back so far they couldn’t even attempt a field goal. Favoritism for the chiefs is even beyond the Brady scale at this point. Mahomes isn’t great he maybe was for two or three seasons but now it’s just the league propping him and his team up.
Just the right time? You mean both in the first quarter? The first going to New York and upholding as a flag, the second being 2nd and 6? In a game kc won by 9, without the intentional safety 11?
@@vegasroller7026 I wouldn't. I think 'dynasties' are bad for sports in general. Sports are about competition, not expecting specific outcomes to happen because there is no competition. E.g. no one would want to pay to watch an elite marathoner to race a Honda because you know the Honda will win.
Both are true. The NFL flat out has an officiating problem but most sports do can't think of one that doesn't. But my issues with the NFL start with how neutered defenses are. It's not a feel thing anymore. Its true defenses are not allowed to punish the offense, and that makes the sport compromised in my eyes. But the bigger crime in the NFL is what they've done to special teams. Kickoffs are not even a play anymore. The sport is shifting in real time to a star driven league (NBA) instead of a jersey driven league (NFL prior 2010) 😢
The Chiefs getting penalized more during games doesn't address the real issue - whether calls go against the Chiefs or the other team where calls can go either way
I think flopping should be a penalty across any position. We see O linemen fall backwards at the slightest touches too, and it's just as common as quarterback flops are.
On the second one, the slide was so late the defenders were already engaged in a tackle. That seems unfair to penalize. But agree with all your points here: these players are just maximizing the rules.
@@henryohse1 you can't tackle with your head up, if you do you'll get out muscled by the guy who lowers his head. it works to say that for little kids because they are tiny, and not strong, but it doesn't work for really strong grown men. don't slide late. NFL shouldn't protect a QB w/ a slide if it's beyond the LOS and a defender is within 3 yards at the beginning of the slide. even helmet to helmet shouldn't be protected because the QB is dropping his head to the level his midsection just was.
Hochuli referee team has handed Eagles SIX STRAIGHT WINS when they officiate. AND 3 straight losses for Commanders. We're supposed to believe this is a coincidence?
@@stupidvillager82 both of the roughing calls in this game weren't fouls. there was no forcible contact to the head or neck area. neither was reviewed and change, and thus, the wrong call was left on the field. I get it, you sound like a Chiefs fan so you want them flagged, but the fact that people argue about them being fouls shows how questionable they were.
One of these players just needs to take the penalty and just knock Mahomes out actually. It’s getting ridiculous. I am not even a Chiefs fan but I’m going to cheer for the Chiefs because I know they are going to win because of the refs.
I saw a stat about penalty differential in playoff games in the Mahomes era, and if I remember correctly, the chiefs got fewer penalties in every single one, which to me speaks to the issue, that tough and important calls go in the chiefs way more often than they should
There is definitely a benefit to being a superstar. Jayden Daniels and other rookies have gotten rocked and there’d be no flags. The situation is putting the QBs at risk because as a defense, if flags are gonna be thrown even when their isn’t penalties or they are caused by the QB taking advantage, the best option is to just hit them hard enough to make it count.
I'm a chiefs fan and have watched almost every down this season. Mahomes does get favorable calls no doubt, but I've also seen him get blown up as well with no flag thrown. The main issue is inconsistent and subjective criteria for these calls and the fact that everything is happening in real time and the officials can't see everything all at once.
The problem is that some QBs are a lot more likely to get the flag than others. Not just Mahomes. And roughing the passer calls are more often subjective than objective. Like a lot of fans I want consistency, which isn't close to the case. Maybe full time refs is a good option? As to rigging an NFL game, I used to think that about the NBA. Probably easier to rig a NBA game. But there are other ways for refs to affect the outcome. Look at all the times there's a clearly bad spot on where the ball is. The difference between 1st and 10 and 4th and 1 can be huge, especially in your own territory where failing on 4th down can be devastating.
It was, but with a specific criteria. It can only be overturned if it’s deemed there was no contact to the head or neck area at all. Which is different than something being reviewed to see if it should be a penalty or not.
@jacksonkruegersports7888 If there is no contact to the head or neck, the flag is picked up. Now, I'm not sure if you are suggesting all penalties should be reviewable but NY does currently review roughing the passer calls in real time. But why not call that out in your video if you already knew it rather than keep perpetuating some of the false narratives?
@@MahjikM3 He's not saying in the video that the NFL *can't* review that penalty. He's saying the NFL should be able to overturn that penalty because it was clearly very weak contact. As it exists right now, if someone just taps the QB's helmet it's treated the same as if they just blew off Teddy Bridgewater's head. That's dumb.
@ I might not have made myself clear in my last response. You are correct that this is reviewed, but even if they review it and decide it shouldn’t be a penalty, they can’t overturn it if there is any contact to the head or neck area (even if it’s not enough to warrant a flag). As it stands now, roughing the passer is only kinda reviewable. Under the current rules, there hasn’t been a single call like this overturned. I’m saying they should just review it and determine if it should be a penalty or not. You are correct though, I should’ve mentioned this in my video.
@@andrewb378 NY can overrule the field (before the penalty is announced). It's happened a lot when the refs threw a flag, but then announced there was no foul on the play. They even said on the broadcast that NY saw sufficient contact to the head/neck to not overrule the call. Now, we can disagree with what the refs and NY saw, but there were outside eyes with multiple camera angles also reviewing that first call. EDIT: What cannot happen is that the opposing team cannot throw the challenge flag on it so it has to be something NY wants to look at.
The issue is you're saying "well they're always going to throw the flag there" but that's the issue... they don't... unless it's Mahomes. Fake surrendering should be a 15 yard penalty.
Watch Calvin Ridley season when he was with the jags. He would 'flop' very often and draw PI or unnecessary roughness flags for first downs. Nobody was screaming that the refs love the jags lol 😅
Exactly, since the chiefs win. Everyone loves to point at something else being the reason for their success instead of just coming to terms with the fact that they’re just a good team
@The_zenithgod I think a big part of it is that they win a lot of 'somewhat close' games, 1 TD or less, and so people look for 'the ONE thing/play that caused it' As a jags fan, this is constant LOL, like.. so many games where ONE bad throw or just ONE stop on defense could have decided it.
Chiefs fan, I agree with pretty much everything said. Flopping is insanely cringe, I don't care if its mahomes or josh allen doing it. Though, part of me thinks that the chiefs hate is so large that even adding embellishment and expedited review won't change anyone's narrative. People would just shift the goal post and start saying "refs missed this call, rigged for KC"
The NFL as a business is an autocratic institution in this country. I can't imagine too many people rooting for the NFL throughout this playoff round and new round of scrutiny. Goodell's message is that if you don't like it, there's the door. Otherwise, shut up and take it. That message goes for everybody, including media commentators during a broadcast, no less. So I'm sure they will hear it from above, but I think Troy Aikman already knows that as he's saying it. At least you can't call him a sellout like Rich Eisen, Mike Pereira and Mike Florio as they spin it and tell us what to think. Good for Troy Aikman. He blurted out the truth. That's credibility. I like that. I hold him in high esteem for his candor on national TV. Yes, I'm making a larger statement here, that what's blurted out here goes against a narrative, so why promote that narrative to begin with? What coalition of interests is being served by it? Does that insidious coalition have more rights and more say than everyone else? You can't just get away with everything forever and expect everybody to just shut up and take it. Somebody's going to say something eventually. Institutions lose credibilty when leaders subvert their authority and disrespect the game, as if they're above it all. Remember Omar from The Wire saying to McNulty in the cemetery, ["...personally, I don't think the game should be played like that..."] Omar was a killer, but a man has to have a code, no doubt. Otherwise, the game just isn't worth watching or playing. The recurring theme on The Wire was that high rollers, and thus their institutions, sold out to appeal to a broad coalition of interests instead of sticking to what they should be: credible. Somebody's selling out the NFL's credibilty to Vegas and Goodell's vicarious takes here on The Rich Eisen Show are emblematic of that. You can spin it all you want but nobody's fooling anybody now. The difference between Rich Eisen and Troy Aikman: Rich is incredible, caressing the party "line." Nick's even worse with the hedging. Don't bite the hand that feeds ya!
They changed the rules for Mahomes to cause him to win TWICE: Texans illegal motion is the most recent game was called a dead ball, when that same call was called on the Raiders it was a fumble that cost them the game. Second, the AFC championship against the Bengals the Cheifs were given a 5th down on the final drive. These two examples were game changing calls that benefited the Cheifs and it seems like every game changing call goes in their favor.
The issue w/ OL's jumping the snap count is my biggest pet peeve. I first noticed it as a Steelers fan (people going against TJ Watt), but I've come to recognize that it is a very widespread practice. If the league wants more scoring, and more superstar QBs, they should change the rules. Maybe 1-mississippi, 2--Mississippi? But don't just give a wink-and-a-nod to false starts.
I agree with some of what you said, not all, but I think the biggest point you miss is this: It is one thing to "test the waters" on false start penalties, maybe you can consider that smart. But when rules are put in place to try to protect players from known and historic long term, life changing injuries, "testing the waters" on these just makes Mahomes a scumbag. It is sort of like saying at a restaurant you are "testing the waters" by taking a handful of mints from a jar instead of one or two. Mahomes is the guy who "tests the waters" by stealing $20 out of the tip jar or charity jar on the counter. Are you calling that "smart" because after all they might not say anything?
Wow you really are a terrible human being to wish injury on anyone. Have you actually checked the stats on the chiefs penalties total this season, and last 7 seasons? Have you checked the rushing the passer discrepancy of chiefs vs others so you can see these mistakes are not exclusive to the chiefs? Like you really are horrible.
Don’t injure the guy-never attempt to harm. But, yeah, in those sidelines situations, hit Mahomes the same way you’d hit Derek Henry. Make it smart a little bit. You get 15 yards for touching them at all, so, yeah, take the 15 for making any such quarterback remember the moment. Mahomes has been very fun to watch in the past, but I find this stuff unwatchable. I don’t watch the Chiefs games anymore.
@@youngmythyeah because abusing rules designed for player safety makes you such a good guy. And before you bring up Josh Allen “flops” - Josh Allen is WAY bigger than Mahomes. Try to hurt Allen and he’ll just run you over. LOL
Interesting detail about false start. In the details of the book a player in a 2 point stance can move their foot back to reposition. If you shift your weight and bring that foot back so long as the foot is still up when the snap begins it doesn’t count.. they’ve had meetings about the nuances of it and that’s what brass agreed on
Simply make it so players that habitually flop or create unnecessary contact don't get the benefit of the flag call. As well as a signal for the QB to give up on a run play rather than sliding/going out of bounds, much like a fair catch.
Charger fan here. I will say that the play vs the 49ers was a bad angle by the defender and a solid improv by Mahomes and he is definitely crafty enough to use the baked in idea that defensive players don't want to pick up 15 penalties. It is difficult there, but I think the linebacker needed to defend against the big play, even if it meant letting Mahomes get the first down. However, Mahomes is absolutely getting calls that are beyond the pale and it feels like in the game vs the Texans that the refs are just guessing and truly not actual seeing these major hits actually happen. This would seem logical because when we see replay reviews and discover that there was no helmet contact, what other conclusion can we come to? I think that is a significant part of the frustration in that technology exists to get all of these calls right, but bad refs essentially guessing on the field carries more weight than what we can see zoomed in and slowed down on our TV screens.
Refs are calling stuff in real time and from angles that people like you and me can see but they cant. Its all happening in milliseconds. They are taught, when in doubt throw the flag. Replay makes a lot of calls seem worst or better than they are and the casual fan at home thinks the refs are blind or are rigging it. Refs jobs are hard. That being said, the current refs suck. They aren't full time and basically don't have the time and resources to study the game 24/7. Reffing is their 2nd jobs lol. This is on the league to pay their full salaries and actually train them properly. We also need replay assist to help overturn every call if needed.
Its not a ref problem. Its a Draftkings/Fanduel problem. If you look at when this ref problem started to get bad you will see it is at the same time Draftkings was becoming popular.
And the expedited review crew has the advantage of slow motion and different angles. I am constantly amazed at how many times the referees (and baseball umpires) get it right given the extreme speed the game is played. Let's give the onfield referees some credit and at the same time not disparage them when the booth overturns a call. I strongly agree that flopping should be an unsportsmanlike penalty the same as taunting. It will take only a few calls and flopping will be gone.
I still think there should be a way for qbs to signify they are going to gonout willingly. Maybe its just until a defender touches them? Idk then qbs could get all the yards they want but also be able to take hits when they want to
I would love seeing embellishment. If fines are meaningless and they just pay them off to take advantage of the rules, then don't let them be representatives of the NFL and force them out of their sponsorships. The problem is the NFL as an organization is caring less and less about the quality of the game and finder more and more avenues to make it profitable even if they lose viewership. If you can pull in an extra 100$ per person, losing 10,000 viewers is not a big deal, because you still make more than you did with them there. This is something that happens in video game monetization.
Yeah but if you play for penalties you should be called out for it. No one wants to see their team or someone else's win on penalties and be like "Just using what we're given BRO". Dumb dumb dumb. If that'[s what players are supposed to be doing then I don't want to watch it.
@@stupidvillager82leading with shoulder/chest turns into leading with helmet when a player instantly drops their level on late slides. These are millisecond adjustments. It's not as easy as "don't lead with your head".
@@Justin_Watson23 uhh...yeah it is. This isn't the first time these guys have played football. The issue is every one thinks they have to kill the guy with the ball in every situation. So, players can't make the adjustments but refs are supposed to be perfect in the same time while looking at multiple things happening. In theses same milliseconds, the ref is thinking "this is mahomes, it's 3rd and 10, this guy 5 yards away is going to hit him high and/or late it's the perfect opportunity to throw the flag".
What's going on is plain disgusting, you don't see Lamar getting the kid gloves treatment. If the QB crosses the LoS, they should waive all protections and accept the consequences.
Easy enough to have the head office call down and say there was no flag since they see the review and the flag could get picked up. Or maybe give a challenge flag for coaches for penalties.
Why were BOTH of the Texans players on the second call leading with their helmets? Sure it was a bad call, but it would never have been called if they weren't leading with their helmets. It's a dumb move. So dumb they collided with each other and could have injured their own teammates.
Superstars get more grace in calls. Who’s the biggest superstar? People look back at Brady and the pats with rose tinted glasses but it was the exact same way and people acted the exact same way
Mahomes understands the rules. The NFL has to address this, defenders are afraid that they will be flagged, and then lose yards. Make every 15 yard Personal Foul automatically revaiable, as turnovers and scoring
This is well said. Star QBs get the protection & others don't. Josh Allen fake slid in the playoffs last year. What kind of Bush-League, Kenny Pickett nonsense is that? He then also proceed to draw 2 personal fouls on late slides after defenders stopped on the fake slide. That debacle ended Myles Jack's career.
Has KC been the beneficiary of bad call, yes. However so has every other team, you just actively ignore it or don’t care. For instance the most game changing bad call this weekend was actually at the ravens expense in the ravens bills game, and no one cared.
@@jacksonpayne3477nah bro… I agree with you somewhat but just no. I watch every NFL game. The Chiefs repeatedly get a disproportionate amount of calls in CRUCIAL situations. Idc if someone is “flagged more”, it’s all about down, distance, and time. And game over game they get them. Yes other teams get those calls, but not on the regular. Now I’m no saying the Chiefs aren’t just better. But I am saying they 1000% massively benefit from officiating, especially late in games.
@ nothing I said was incorrect. You just have the inability to disengage your own confirmation bias. It’s ok, I don’t expect you to agree or understand. However it would make you far more respectable if you would stop watching the sport if you think it’s a rigged product. Or better yet, put your house on it, make some money.
The Texans' Joe Mixon was fined by the NFL for something a different player said (calling the refs trash), so the NFL went back and fined Mixon for something he actually said: that the Texans just needed to score more to take the refs out of it, which is just classic sports logic. The NFL knows it has a big problem here (because the NFL lives off gambling), and is desperately trying to stamp out any voices pointing out how naked this emperor is.
The fake slide wasn’t a smart play. Every qb has thought of it but didn’t do it because it’s a dirty play. In life and in sports you shouldn’t always need a rule to tell you not to do something.
Even if he did get pushed off balance, he was also surely slowing up and relaxing because the play is over. Mahomes is being shepherded out of bounds by 2 guys. He should go out of bounds.
So what people want is once you start running to the sidelines you have to continue out of bounds. Or better yet, just don't hit people when they are already out. It's been a rule forever.
@@stupidvillager82 it wouldn't be a problem if Mahomes wasn't playing games with it. He's purposely slowing down as he's getting to the sideline in order to make the defenders run into him. Or he's getting near the sideline and abusing the fact that defenders have to let up in that part of the field to turn it back inside and get a ton more yards out of it. Those rules were put in for his protection and he's abusing the practical knock-on effects in a way that wasn't intended. Either the rule needs to be changed to allow defensive players some leeway or a penalty needs to be added to dissuade guys from abusing how soft defenses have to play on the sidelines.
@@andrewb378 most slow down as they are going out of bounds. Too many people/obstacles on the sidelines to crash into, you see it all the time. The rules are there for everyone, receiveers do it, running backs do it, everyone does it. Anyone that's hit late out of bounds will draw a flag. You can play with the rules all you want, he's not breaking any or cheating any. Not every tackle has to try kill the ball carrier. If he's along the sidelines, force him out.
Flopping is bad whether the refs fall for it or not. He shouldn't be actively trying to fool the refs, he shouldn't be gaming a system designed to keep him safe, and *you* shouldn't be giving him a pass on it just because the refs didn't fall for it *this time*. The NFL needs a rule to penalize flopping. They need a penalty for trying to draw contact while going out of bounds. They need to make it clear that QBs don't have protection while sliding extremely late. Either slide before the defender would start to attempt to tackle you or don't slide at all. You could even make a case for this on safety grounds since sliding extremely late puts your head directly in front of an oncoming tackler.
@@andrewb378I agree with this. Flop & get flagged or flop & lose your protection. Josh Allen did a fake slide last year in the playoffs & then drew two personal foul flags afterwards on fake slides. Like, what tf is a defender supposed to do?
Mahomes butt was on the ground and the two defenders was still upright in a frame still… They used their reaction time to get as low as him diving , leading with their heads . Opposed to disengaging and just tapping him.
They were doing the exact same thing to Trevor Lawrence and ended up giving him a concussion because of it. The refs saw these mfs flat out head hunting Mahomes and knew they had to stop it or the face of the nfl was gonna be knocked out before the title game
The original comment & previous two comments are really as stupid as it gets from people who never played football beyond pop warner I'd guess. Try tackling someone who isn't clearly giving themselves up as rules around sliding intend, but drop instantly to their backsides & you as a defender are a step away. I promise you it's damn near impossible to change your pad level THAT fast. & Comparing those calls to anything Al-Shaiir did is either emotional homerism, or you're so dumb that I'm surprised you know how use a smart phone & master the english language enough to leave a comment like that.
I wonder if the chiefs was to win,I would hope they wouldn't have no riots because that would be horrible I know it's football but to see the chiefs win it all again would just be another down football year,it's like seeing the villains winning again
Go back and watch that ridiculous flag on the Packers in 2023, when they were penalised for tackling Mahomes in bounds, before he had stepped out. The officials are a joke. If Mahomes doesn't want to get hit, he should step out a yard or two sooner. The NFL should forget about how much airtime Taylor Swift is getting, think about it's product and what this looks like to most sports fans. Speak to the referees and make it clear Mahomes should receive no more protection than the worst QB in the league.
Let's talk about Houstons O line giving up 8 sacks, and their kicker missing 3 kicks. They were also in trouble for head hunting this year, and oh yeah went for it on 4th and 10..... now discuss refs
I think you are missing the point by a mile. Do you really think if, say, it was Dorian Thompson-Robinson who gets hit like Mahomes did in these videos, that the ref would be so quick to throw a flag? Not one chance in a million would that happen. It is clearly an effort to protect Mahomes. It is NOT the same for all QBs, as you seem to be arguing. That is the crux of the issue that has people up in arms. Call it the same way for Justin Fields and Baker Mayfield, and there is no issue.
Yes, and he's middle of the pack. Allen gets astronomically more roughing the passer penalties. And you know what? Who cares, he legitimately maybe getting hit in a way that constitutes that. That's what's missed in all this, are we just saying that it's made up penalties and all of them are fake because it's the Chiefs?
You obviously didnt pay attention to the video dumb dumb. Thats the point, hes not getting thos calls bc (as 2 clips showed) defenders are letting up thinking hes running out of bounds so they dont get called and hes using that to get those big 20 yards gains. Which is bs, 1 defender needs to lay his ass out and let him know that bush league bs doesnt fly in the nfl.
I've said for years i wont watch soccer because the flopping, and they should fine players post game after they review them. I'd be fine with the same thing here.
I think it's funny that Texans led with their head and hit Mahomes in the helmet both times, even if it wasn't the biggest hit, and everyone's acting like they didn't even come close to hitting his helmet. And the Mahomes flop is a non issue because there wasn't even a flag thrown. People just like to whine.
Wow! The team that got flagged for doing the same thing to Trevor Lawrence that ended up giving him a concussion got flagged for head hunting Mahomes? That never happeeeeens
It doesn't matter if the flop didn't result in a penalty. He shouldn't be flopping in the first place. And even the broadcast said neither of those penalties would've been called if the refs had a better view. If they'd had the ability to pick them up, they would've. Troy Aikman is one of the biggest Mahomes simps on the planet and *even he* was audibly disgusted by the second call.
@@andrewb378because the broadcast is always right? If everyone had the same view as the refs, we wouldn't have these issues. We a dozen different angles and slow motion, so it's easy to see missed or wrong calls
@@andrewb378 everyone saw what they want to see. And everyone besides the refs have the same multiple views and slow motion. Do I think the calls correct, probably not. Do I think the refs in game could see a foul, absolutely. Should they be reviewable, probably. They tried that with PI, didnt work too well.
Thank you for always being level headed. I will point out though that the 2nd roughing call was a helmet to helmet. There's an angle that shows that. That's always getting called especially on a QB that's sliding.
I have been trying to tell you for years now that the NFL is rigged for superstars. I know Jackson is way too circumspect to ignore the evidence of his own eyes. The proof is everywhere. Tom Brady got most every call for over 20 years, and played in 10 Superbowls. He moves to the Buccaneers, and suddenly Bill Belichick, the greatest coach in NFL history suddenly forgets how to coach... Then Bruce Arians, who never won anything wins the Superbowl when Brady gets there. Then Andy Reid, who gets fired from the Eagles because he can't win the big one, moves to Kansas City, where he can't beat Peyton Manning until he retires, then suddenly...whala! When Mahomes gets there, he make the Superbowl 4 times and wins 3. Can anybody see a pattern here? It's obvious to me the NFL is making sure the players, Brady and Mahomes, who draw the most ratings are playing in the most watched games. It's not a coincidence. The NFL can negotiate more money from advertisers when they renegotiate their advertising contracts if more people watch... At some point, you have to see it's not just a coincidence. The NFL is rigged and manipulated for superstars...it's true.
The question should be how many questionable calls do the chiefs get in their favor. Just taking the number of calls doesnt mean anything. And that is what pisses people off is the sheer number of questionable calls that the chiefs get. In this game, apart from those 3 calls on the QB, texans were not given 2 first downs, and then the officials missed a false start from the chiefs. Thats 5 or 6 unfavorable calls in favor of the chiefs, and none in favor of the texans. That outrightly plays on the morale of any team and makes then change their game and make mistakes, So it looks as if the mistakes texans made is the only reason they lost the game, but in order for them to make mistakes, good plays and stops were consistently denied which forces any team to get frustrated and make mistakes.
There wasn't a flag on the out of bounds flop. There were calls that went the Texans way. Phantom holding on Smith is one. Apart from Taylor, maybe one team is more disciplined. Why do penalties have to be equal?
If 2-3 flags is called on one team, 2-3 flags don't have to be called on the other to make it fair. The other team should stop committing penalties lol. The texans lost because they made stupid mistakes, like letting free runners loose to the qb, letting travis eat wherever he wanted on the field, doing dumb decisions in key spots, calling dumb playcalls in stupid situations, having mental gaffes on special teams. Then when they lost, they cried about the refs instead of their horrible mistakes. They are a loser franchise and will continue to be unless they fix their issues.
Let’s not forget this has been happening for years, the shadow roughing the passer call against the Bengals was one of the weakest calls I’ve seen in a playoff game.
Yet they missed the two holding calls on Chiefs OL on one critical play. The guy put an under the chin forearm choke hold on Trey that nearly took his helmet off.
This individual acts like the refs dont help flopper Josh Allen.Still butthurt because the Chiefs beat his team in the superbowl so lets slander the Chiefs and maybe the refs will help the Bills eliminate the Chiefs.I am not a Chiefs fan but I see the bs calls flopper Josh Allen gets so he also has to see it but he remains quiet about it.
Here's the solution: like Juwaan Taylor, Lane Johnson, & Orlando Brown Jr false start every play & they can't call it all the time - defenses should get their money's worth when hitting Mahomes since they're going to get flagged anyway. Do it every play, then he'll have no reason to flop. I used to really respect him & LeBron, but apparently you turn into insufferable flopping douchebags with sustained success.
The Texans tried to kill Trevor Lawrence and knocked him out of the game. With both of those defenders horizontal, its hard to not picture what they were trying to do there. Headhunting has been in the game since near the beginning, and I dont see how people think it has been eradicated
To be fair, on the 49ers run, Hunt pushed that dude and Mahomes saw it. Once the defender was shoved too far forward there was a lane and Mahomes took it.
Are you talking about the run where he went up the sideline? People keep lying and saying he pretended to go out of bounds. This is a lie. Mahomes had an angle on the defender, then like you said, one of the chiefs players boxed out the defender and Mahomes went around him and up the field.
Are we just going to ignore the fact that the chiefs are the MOST penalized team in the entire NFL since 2018??? What type of drug are yall on? The first penalty was in the first quarter and he clearly made helmet to helmet contact which has been illegal for years. The second penalty was on FIRST down and both defenders went low and led with their helmets and hit Mahomes in the head. We didn’t need the penalty regardless since it was FIRST down but when you play dirty and get penalized, don’t act surprised. The Texans gave up 8 sacks, missed a field goal + an extra point and had a field goal blocked. Are we also going to ignore the fact that Josh Allen flops more than a fish out of water and is currently the quarterback with the most roughing the passer calls in his favor???
First, did you watch the video? He literally opened the video talking about how the Chiefs have the most penalties in the league since 2018. He then went on to explain that the Chiefs have the most penalties *because* they have a left tackle that consistently gets called for false starts *and* Mahomes regularly tries to draw flags with late slides and sideline shenanigans. Second, the first penalty was extremely light helmet to helmet contact. Even on the broadcast they mentioned that if the ref had seen it from a better angle it wouldn't have been called. The second penalty was a very late slide, very weak contact, and, again, on the broadcast Troy Aikman was audibly upset with the call and how soft it was. Both of these were penalties that *should not have been called* because the contact was so soft. Both of these were penalties that the rapid review team *should have been able to pick up*. Third, it's not about whether the Texans could have won the game. The Chiefs were a better team, they were winning anyway. It's about taking late slides, drawn contact, flopping, and complaining to the refs *out of the game*. These are things we used to make fun of soccer about, and now it's infesting the NFL. Fourth, nobody is giving Josh Allen a pass. He flops, complains, and draws contact even more than Mahomes. Yes. Clearly. *That's also fucking annoying*, and we want him to stop too. Both can be true.
From an unbiased perspective, here’s my two cents. Both calls were terrible. Mahomes flopped and did a great job at selling it. But you can’t tell me that 2 penalties decided the entirety outcome of the game. I hated the calls too but it didn’t cost the Texans the game. First penalty occurred in the first quarter. There’s still a whole ass football game to be played. Anything can still happen. A penalty in the first quarter is never a deciding factor. Get that over your heads. 😂 The 2nd penalty occurred in the fourth quarter on 1st down. Yes the penalty was outrageous but even before the penalty, on that drive the chiefs were moving down the field efficiently and with ease. The Texans had no answers. I’d argue they would’ve scored regardless of the penalty. We also can’t ignored that the Texans had multiple opportunities at the end to tie it but failed to capitalize. Overall, I think chiefs win that game regardless of the two penalties. Hate to say it but that’s the truth. Texans on offense had no answers. Missed extra points, missed field goals, gave up 8 sacks, they never even reached the chiefs 10 yard line that’s how bad the offense was. What were they thinking about going for it on 4th and 10. Terrible decision by Demeco Ryans. In conclusion, do the refs have some favoritism towards Mahomes? Definitely. But that’s what happens when you’re the face of the league. When you’re a 3x Super Bowl champion and the closest thing to Brady, you get special treatment. Brady got it and even MJ got it in the NBA. That’s just how it goes, it’s nothing new.
First off, both penalties were relatively early, so there was still a lot of football to play. Second, it's not really about whether the Texans could've won or not. It's about the flopping. It's about drawing contact on the sidelines. It's about complaining to the refs after practically every play. Not just from Mahomes but from many, many players. It's something we used to make fun of soccer for and it's getting old *really* fast. These issues have to get addressed. There's no grand conspiracy that the league is trying to make the Chiefs win, but that doesn't change the fact that flopping, drawing contact, and complaining are getting out of hand. The late slides are especially egregious. The whole point of the slide rule was to protect QBs and as they're sliding later and later it's actually putting them in *more* danger, not less.
@@andrewb378 Agree but here’s my rebuttal. Flopping been part of the games for years now. I’m not excusing it but It’s nothing new or out of the ordinary. Only reason this is being blown out of proportion now is because it’s the chiefs. If it was any other team, people look the other way. Because it’s Mahomes it’s being talked about. That’s the reality of it. As far as the complaining to the officials, every QB does it. Even Brady did it back in the day. It’s hard to gage it. People want a fairly officiated game but then also complains when they don’t get the calls their way. People complain that the league is too soft but then cries for the officials to throw a flag for a weak holding call. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. You have to find a middle ground. You either keep the game in the players hands or throw a bunch of flags to keep people satisfied because there will be complaints about missed holding calls and PI’s. In a way, the league is a product of the fans. A lot of the fans created this “soft” league.
Chiefs winning fatigue is real. Even TH-camrs and other media members not being able to emotionally handle Chiefs winning all the time and the easy cop out is the refs.
it's not even that, Patriots won for almost 2 decades and I didn't use the refs excuse once, but this is obvious. Helps we have so many ways to record and see the flops and bad calls, also the none calls for example Danielle hunter going vs a backup left tackle was getting held all game on the chiefs. But they worried about mahomes so they don't see the holds on the chiefs O line. Than you have QBs on the other side getting hit harder and refs just look the other way...
At about 7:00 and regarding the so-called "late slide", try watching it in slo-mo again while considering what Mahomes can see when he made each move. If you do you'll note that he doesn't like the sideline, so he jukes in, and it looks like he has a huge hole there, and goes for it. What he apparently didn't realize when he juked was that both D guys had momentum, and when he saw them closing fast, he immediately got down. Immediately, not late. Instead of asking what are those D guys supposed to do, try asking exactly when Mahomes was supposed to realize it was time to quit on the play, and give up. You have the amount of time from where Mahomes crossed the LOS until he went down to consider everything and answer, one tenth of a second long? Flag. Finally, I get the bitching, but letting the game get more physical runs up against the CTE legal issues. Anyone who says that having another Junior Seau is no sort or kind of football fan. He was a pain in our ass for years, but one hell of a football player, general attitude toward others included.
the slide isn't a last result once you've gained the maximum yardage on the play, it's a decision you make to not be the target of a hit, so you forgo gaining yardage to not get hit, that's the trade off. You can't have both, the protection from the slide, and the yardage gained from the run.
@@adamwolsey8589 And that's a debate about the rules and how they can be seen and enforced. And I'm here to tell y'all that regarding whatever we fans might dream up, it's never, ever, ever that simple and easy. More often than not, the difference between the Chiefs and their opponents is that a bad call that goes against the Chiefs just makes you wonder how they'll overcome it yet again.
There is no Chiefs issue. Yes there is a Penalty problem in the NFL and the truth is do you remember a year when we didnt complain about the refs? I know as a Chiefs fan we witnessed a phantom Roughing the Passer in the AFC Championship game...or go back further and Forward Progress was ruled on a sack by Derrick Johnson which ended our Playoff run. The hilarious part of this all is I think the Chiefs are on the wrong side of penalties more often than not. Without a doubt Josh Allen flops more than any QB ever and its hilarious, sure it pisses you off if it actually gets a 15 yard penalty, but you got to give the guy respect for earning 15 yards. I laugh when Allen does it honestly, it is so obviously on purpose. And fix this issue? Its not a plague, we are talking about one flop from Mahomes in 18 games which wasn't even a penalty! Thats hardly an epedimic. There are 1000s of plays in the NFL, flops are what percentage of those. Not much. Its only big because X users (which is mostly bots) is upset.
@ the video implies a flag was called. If people say they get all the calls by logic then they would get that one but didn't. The other call was on 1st and goal and honestly didn't impact the game. The hit to the head was the right call on the field plus new york reviewed it and it stood as called
The controversy is fueled by clear Instant Replay evidence that we all get to see, but the Refs don't reverse the mistaken calls.
Refs will never admit a bad call for some reason. I guess it's in the contract or they just A holes.
The funny thing is this is how the NFL has always been lol

Someone just needs to lay out Mahomes so he won't do it again

One of these players just needs to take the penalty and just knock Mahomes out actually. It’s getting ridiculous. I am not even a Chiefs fan but I’m going to cheer for the Chiefs because I know they are going to win because of the refs.
I saw a stat about penalty differential in playoff games in the Mahomes era, and if I remember correctly, the chiefs got fewer penalties in every single one, which to me speaks to the issue, that tough and important calls go in the chiefs way more often than they should
The NFL is less entertaining than it used to be.
Flopper Josh Allen is a top player too so gets helped by the refs but bills fans dont mention this.
On the first Mahomes penalty, that was reviewed by NY before the next play.

Exactly, since the chiefs win. Everyone loves to point at something else being the reason for their success instead of just coming to terms with the fact that they’re just a good team
@The_zenithgod I think a big part of it is that they win a lot of 'somewhat close' games, 1 TD or less, and so people look for 'the ONE thing/play that caused it'

The answer is sadly KTFO the QB early when they try to slide and be done with it.
D players might as well headhunt Mahomes since they're going to get the penalty anyway.
You need to have a "Floppy Award" show at the end of each season
I hate seeing players get injured but it's sadly the only way to get Mahomes to stop flopping and abusing the rules.

I don't know why they are afraid of expediated reviews. They are part of the reffing crew.
Idk then qbs could get all the yards they want but also be able to take hits when they want to
Lamar and Burrow are superstars but they don’t get calls like Mahomes does.

Give the refs a portable review screen on their hats. The game moves too fast for an accurate call. Everyone watches in slow motion, except the refs.
Here's the issue, its that these calls are made for the star qbs that other teams dont get.

Pat Mahomes DEFINITELY gets more calls. But the calls dont always decide the game
Allen has gotten more than anyone by actual stats.
WHATS THE POINT OF REPLAY IF WE DONT USE IT
All penalties are not same. It’s when it called and where it’s called.
He's wrong about kc being 6th in penalties. There are only 3 teams with fewer penalties
@9:02 that 9ers defender got pushed off balance
Mahomes flopped proving he tries to draw penalties. He slides late on purpose and it’s not fair for the defense.
Unsportsmanlike conduct. Already in the rulebook.
It’s so funny to me that people were so mad about the flop when the refs didn’t even call it 😂
Also I mean he did sell it but he also got pushed in the back lol
*in the field of play@@henryohse1
That being said, I dont mind the call though
It's called bad sportsmanship.
@@andrewb378I agree with this. Flop & get flagged or flop & lose your protection. Josh Allen did a fake slide last year in the playoffs & then drew two personal foul flags afterwards on fake slides. Like, what tf is a defender supposed to do?
The chiefs are not the 6th most penalized team..They are the 29th most penalized team and only 3 teams have fewer penalties.
@@The_zenithgod So you admit they were head hunting?
The original comment & previous two comments are really as stupid as it gets from people who never played football beyond pop warner I'd guess.
Try tackling someone who isn't clearly giving themselves up as rules around sliding intend, but drop instantly to their backsides & you as a defender are a step away. I promise you it's damn near impossible to change your pad level THAT fast.
& Comparing those calls to anything Al-Shaiir did is either emotional homerism, or you're so dumb that I'm surprised you know how use a smart phone & master the english language enough to leave a comment like that.
@Justin_Watson23 That's cool. You don't seem very bright yourself.
Football has gotten to soft overall. Let them play it's BS all around.
Has anyone compared the number of roughing-the-passer calls on Mahomes to other QBs in the league?
@@phannaneang nope, they just loooooove to hate on the winner. That’s all this is really
What you call refs we call Chiefs.
They killed laremy tunsil all year for what juwan taylor does every game
I've said for years i wont watch soccer because the flopping, and they should fine players post game after they review them. I'd be fine with the same thing here.
It was literally just two calls that were more homefield calls than anything
@@stupidvillager82 so easy to see missed and wrong calls that everyone saw those wrong roughing the passer calls, right?
@@andrewb378 everyone saw what they want to see. And everyone besides the refs have the same multiple views and slow motion. Do I think the calls correct, probably not. Do I think the refs in game could see a foul, absolutely. Should they be reviewable, probably. They tried that with PI, didnt work too well.
i watch legit jonex about the calls and he clears up the chiefs call
We all know the chiefs are a 10-7 or 11-6 team at BEST. and WE ALL KNOW IT.
Butthurt bills fans want their flopper qb to be treated like a superstar so that they can win cheating bunch of hypocrites.
You know ball
Only because jawaan Taylor is trying to cheat with his false starts
Let’s not forget this has been happening for years, the shadow roughing the passer call against the Bengals was one of the weakest calls I’ve seen in a playoff game.
@XWillette0 Josh Allen has more RTP calls in his career than Mahomes, and yet Mahomes has 3 rings. Your logic isn’t sound
I think even Mahomes was surprised about the second call on the late slide. Probably why he tried to draw another one with the flop on the sideline.
Sure sure the refs make sure to throw in garbage penalties against the Chiefs in the 4th where it doesn't matter anymore.
The Texans tried to kill Trevor Lawrence and knocked him out of the game. With both of those defenders horizontal, its hard to not picture what they were trying to do there.
Headhunting has been in the game since near the beginning, and I dont see how people think it has been eradicated
You’re a clown😊
You guys keep bringing that stat up like it's some damning evidence. The issue is WHEN and WHERE they get the flags. It's not that complicated ffs...
What a bunch of horseshit.
The 2nd penalty occurred in the fourth quarter on 1st down.
So true man, there’s literally only two “bad calls” in this game. And if all it takes is two “bad calls” to make you lose then you’re just a shit team
Next level vid man. Some great pulls
That and don't blame Mahomes for when he went down, he wasn't pushing at any boundaries. That's just how things played out.
Chiefs haters punching the air rn😂😂😂😂
After my team is out I rather Chiefs win again. It feels like everyone lost that way 😂.
Why is that the thumbnail when it wasn’t a penalty?
Propaganda
Cuz he was trying to get a flag
@ the video implies a flag was called. If people say they get all the calls by logic then they would get that one but didn't. The other call was on 1st and goal and honestly didn't impact the game. The hit to the head was the right call on the field plus new york reviewed it and it stood as called
I'm looking forward to the Kansas City Cheats vs the Buffalo Bills this weekend
